So I just finished watching Hobo With a Shotgun. I was amazed; it's one of the only low budget movies I've ever watched, and definitely the best. Alot of people say it was a horrid movie, but I suppose it's my unpopular opinion to have loved it.

So I ask you, have you guys seen it? if so, how did you like it?

One of my favorite scenes, and quote:

I definitely recommend everyone watch it. It's on Netflix even.

looks like the world if the president was a video game chairman, still i love the brutal action, what genre is the movie? looks like the kind of thing I'd watch

I believe it would fall into several categories, such as action,gore,and thriller. At least websites with reviews(arguably bad reviews) tend to have it under those categories.

It is one of the best films I have ever seen, especially at the end, my favourite quote is

You and me are going on a car ride to Hell, and I'm riding 'shotgun'!

heh. Yeah that was a pretty awesome quote.I really liked The Plague, myself. The Plague have got to be the most awesome demon guys ever. I heard there's gonna be a spinnof movie just for The Plague.

I have high hopes for it.

Oh my gosh, I remember this movie *laughs*

I thought it was all right...while being great for a low-budget it's not my favourite. I prefer older slashers :P

*Enters thread, wondering about why it is about a hobo with a shotgun*

*Sees its about some weird straight to dvd movie and leaves*

It was in theaters, a while back ago, don't judge it so harshly please ;-;

Honestly give it a shot before you criticize it like that. XD

I wasn't sure what to think when I saw the movie description, but the movie itself was unbelievably impacting. For such a low-budget movie, it made great use of its resources to tell a unique story and illustrate a dark and interesting world with lots of things to think about. Never a dull moment, and never a wasted scene, which is rare, even in movies with three times the funding that this one had.

Yeah. The acting was also absolutely great in my opinion, I suppose you could say money doesn't really affect quality.

All he wanted was a lawnmower. ;-;

I think what really sold me on this movie was the fact that each scene carried a message to it. There were no wasted special effects, and everything that happens has a point. Nothing about this movie was specifically for cheap entertainment, and everything was actually put together in a way that makes you think....

The main moral of the story: If you ever see Rutger Hauer, GIVE HIM HIS LAWNMOWER! :ph34r:

By no means the best movie I've watched but it's not the worst, given the choice I would rathe watch something else or do something else, but if I had to watch it, I could think of bigger wastes of time.

I would probably give it a 4.6 out of 10, a movie I would watch the once but likely never watch again.

Time to throw out an unpopular opinion: I honestly could not stand this movie; I was streaming it with some friends while we all chatted in a Skype conference, and... it ended up being one of the first movies I've ever had to walk away from.

But... I've never been one to enjoy slashers or similar sorts of movies, so I think it's safe to say that I'm not exactly the target audience. I do have to give it some credit, though - they certainly didn't half-ass the gore aspect. x_x

Saw it 3 times in theatres and got the DVD for Christmas. Fantastic film IMO. And yes, I have hopes for The Plague spin-off.

bahahahahaha that makes me scared to even hire it, seeing as most of the movies in the video shop are burnt knock offs, well, that'll wake people up

This movie is a shinny giant middle finger pointed towards all the people who thinks they know something about movies without actually knowing a damn. URRRRR DUUUUUUURRR I buy apple products and Tim Burton is my god, this movie sucks even if I didn't see it. I watched avatar you know, I know stuff HUUURRRR DURRRRRRR.

One of the best movies I've ever seen. The simple message of a hobo (supposed to be the trash of our society, hidden away and despised by everyone for... well... being a hobo...) being the only one really worrying about what his world is becoming while all the others sit and watch everything go apeshit is really powerfull. It reminded me a lot the scene in the ferry in The Dark Knight when the prisonner throw the detonator in the water. It's the same message of hope and somehow redemption of the whole humanity coming from his "scums".
