movies/tv Worst Movie(s) You Have Ever Seen?

Prometheus was a huge disappointment for me. Even if I just accept that this isn't really an Alien movie like the movie's defenders ask me to (despite the advertising and the movie itself taking great pains to convince me that this is an Alien movie), it still sucks if taken as a stand alone movie. The characters (one of the first two Alien movies' strong points) are forgettable and dumb, the ending makes no sense and is a complete rip off, there isn't a consistent level of threat throughout the movie, which is a bad thing for a horro movie, and the whole plot only works because everyone keeps making stupid, illogical decisions. Pretty, yes, but "god tier", sorry but no.

I defend Prometheus because of the themes they were trying to convey as well as the gorgeous visuals and performances (specifically Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender). Its success is also the only chance we have of getting the movie we all really want from Ridley Scott.

However, they better not let Damon Lindhoff (LOST) anywhere near the sequel. His rewrite of the script damn near killed the movie. If you read Jon Spaihts' original draft it makes so much more sense and seems way more like an Alien movie.

And also am I able to inb4 someone mentions The Twilight movies, or am I too late on that one?

Urkelbot got to it first, but it's funny you should mention it...

Now, I can't think of a film I've ever legitimately hated, but the first Twilight movie (which was the only one I sat through before I said "Buck it, the haters were totally right on this one.") was probably one of the most mindlessly contrived, pretentious pieces of crap I've seen in a while...but almost in an enjoyable way, like the director was milking Meyer's bad writing for all it was worth.

I hear that New Moon was also enjoyably bad, but that the following films were all dreadfully boring.

The only other thing that comes to mind is Birdemic, which probably deserves the title of "Worst Acting/Story/Effects/Everything in Movie History," but it really is another case of a film being SO bad that it kind of collapses in on itself, rips a hole in the space-time continuum, and somehow becomes good. Any flick that can get me in stitches is alright by me. wink.png

Cowboys vs aliens. I like cowboy movies, and I'm ok with alien movies, but this was just ridiculous. I didn't understand how any of that would've worked, all the characters were mary-sues, even the basic concept was screwed up. I don't generally watch movies with bad reviews, but my dad REALLY wanted to see it for some reason.

Jack and Jill. My goodness, the jokes were SO corny, that they weren't even funny. They completely went cheesy, and the plot was just way to basic. .5/10 for me.

I actually enjoyed the Twilight movies. New Moon was pretty bad, but Eclipse was surprisingly self-aware and doesn't take itself too seriously. Basically just popcorn movies. :)

I still haven't seen the second half of Breaking Dawn to find out if Bella starts being an actual character instead of a caricature for pre-pubescant teenage girls to project themselves onto, but I hope that's what happens. :)

The one I have seen is in spanish. It´s called "Ángel Caído".

Before watching this I thought people exagerated when they said something was painfull to watch. But this was. Absolutely every aspect of it fails masively. There is absolutely nothing good about it (well maybe the locations). And It also has a mesage that is inceadibly meanspirited. It is until I saw this that I realised what truely awfull film is.

 My Soul To Take

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

The Village by M. Night Shyamalan.

 Amazing Spider-Man

Shorts.  If anyone remembers this movie, the story was told in little short stories spliced together the wrong way.  No, seriously it was meant to be out of order.

 Digimon: The Movie.

I would say Prometheus because of how it was done, but the movie wasn't "that" bad enough to say it was the absolute WORST movie i've seen.  Maybe the third Resident Evil movie makes me say "that was bad."

Stay away from AVP 1-2. Those are bad juju. I actually enjoyed the first AVP as a monster movie

Avatar

The Dark Knight Rises (Oh yeah, I just went there)

The Avengers

Prometheus

But... But... I like all these movies... sad.png  And I can't really think of a "bad" movies. Yeah, there are movies that I don't like, but it's just because they are not in the style I like and most of them are rather popular "good" movies. Ya know, like Star Wars, Godfather, Wall-E, the first and second Nolan's Batman (yes, I like the third but not the first two. I have no idea why neither...), Pulp Fiction, Rocky, ect... They are all movies that are like "Meh, no thank you *grab a book*" for me...

I'll probably fully understand when these asshats make the TMNT movie.

You know who else is an asshat, Stalin the dictator of the now dissolved Soviet Union. That man hated his own son so much that when the son tried to kill himself via gun and failed, Stalin told him that he couldn't even shoot strait. Then he also left him in a POW camp during WW2, even when he had a chance to trade for him, and his son died. And it's not cursing if he is indeed wearing an ass for a hat.  I really hope someone got that reference.

The Avengers

Oh no you di-hunt! The Avengers was entertaining as hell. The feat it pulled off with that ensemble cast is nothing short of amazing.

Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad! :)

Both Dragonball Evolution and The Last Airbender. Being a big fan of both A:TLA and the Dragonball franchise, the two movies are the biggest insults to mankind

There's also that Martial Arts movie called Undefeatable, but that movie was so bad it was entertaining, plus that final fight scene was comedic gold

The Dark Knight Rises (Oh yeah, I just went there)

The Avengers

leave

probably not THE WORST EVER, but the first that comes to mind is this Jolie flick I saw called Beyond Borders - forget why I watched it in the first place, think a friend wanted me to see it... anyways the sad thing is that it started off REALLY DAMN GOOD with a great message, then devolved into a bland love story that stomped all over said message

or maybe it was that Steve Martin Pink Panther remake, dammit I love Bowfinger but Martin needs to be beaten for stomping on Sellers' grave...

also anyone who says Rises is dumb or trolling - it was a good superhero film, same as The Dark Knight which is insanely overrated.

Congrats you got it, now have a cookie. To be honest about The Dark Knight Rises, it was a good one, but not as good as people made it to be. As for The Avengers, it had a good cast, but other than that I can't say anything good about it. Maybe I'm biased because I'm not a fan of superhero movies.

Thanks to the incredibly stupid marketing campaign, Paranormal Activity is one of them. Speaking of horror films, another one of the worst that I have seen, is Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows. Easily one of the worst movies of all time and quite possibly the worst sequel ever. Then of course the are the 'movies' like Scary Movie, Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie, all of those are unbelievably terrible.

There are many more I can list and probably will down the line. It is far too difficult to narrow it down to one.

Terrible movies, you say? Well, I've subjected myself to a great many over the years(much of which I have permanently wiped from my memory), but one terribad film does seem to resurface.
Mega Piranha, a movie about super-sized fish that terrorize a city, or something. Had something to do with Cuba. I think.

Let's take a trip back to 1972 with "Frogs". Intended to be a horror movie about evil frogs, it failed horribly because, no matter how hard one tries, one cannot make frogs seem evil or intimidating. Jeez was that a bad movie. And the worst part was that it tried to take itself seriously! And the cover! The cover writes checks the movie can't cash! It's a frog with a human hand hanging out of it's mouth, but none of the frogs in that movie were even remotely that large. And to top it all off, the "frogs" used in the movie were actually Cane Toads. THIS MOVIE LIES!

Okay this movie is the worst possible movie ever. I saw it when It came out and I was so disappointed in everything. The movie didn't make sense and frankly it's very corny. Don't watch:

I saw the movie when I hadn't heard of any hatedom for Twilight (Hell, I barely even knew what it was about, except that it had vampires).

By the time the movie completed, I was rolling my eyes so often I thought they were going to fall out of their sockets.

But I don't know if that's my choice for worst, though.  Because it's got some tough competition in Batman and Robin and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. Batman And Robin was basically the Adam West TV show minus any charm or tongue in cheek humor, with darker (but still camp) looking sets and about 100x the homoeroticism.  Superman IV is basically what would happen if Ed Wood was around in the 1980s and given $11 million to make a Superman film.

Both of them, appropriately enough, killed their respective film franchises for years to come.  Hell, Superman hasn't even completely recovered yet (Superman Returns had some nice moments but overall... meh) though hopefully Man of Steel will deliver as I expect it would.

Superman IV and Batman and Robin probably are worse films in a technical sense, but...when you think about the fact that Bella Swan is supposed to be the character that female youths are expected to relate to, and even look up to as a potential role model...well, let's just say that even Adam West's Batman would make a more worthwhile role model. blink.png

Oh, the characters in Twilight were insufferable, no doubt.  But Batman and Robin and Superman IV made me facepalm at the stupidity and lack of effort.  At least the director of Twilight looked like she was *trying* to make a competent movie.

Lack of overall effort vs. horrible, dull characters... probably a draw.

With the person that mentioned The Avengers, they maybe thinking of the 1998 film about the british group, instead of the 2012 movie with the marvel team up.  Wiki Link

That avengers, the one with freaking sean connery in a giant teddy bear suit I kid you not!

, was definitely garbage.

Avatar: The Last Airbender was terrible. It wasn't the mockable, unintentionally funny terrible that you would see Joel/Mike and co. make fun of on MST3k, it was that other kind of terrible.
