So I feel like there are really good Disney movies that don't get enough love or attention. We all know Mufasa's death in Lion King was one of the saddest in Disney history and is only comparable to Bambi. Those are sad moments, but what about the funny moments in Lilo and Stitch? Or the adventure in Homeward Bound? I rarely hear things about these two great movies.

The movie I feel that doesn't get enough love is Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, because of this one scene.

SPOILER ALERT

Now that's not the whole clip, but they made it sadder than it already was by cutting it short. It's just sad. There's no other way to put it. Yet nobody seems to remember it.

Another time in the movie that's funny

This is just funny, if you know the story between the two.

Homeward Bound is one of the movies I love that nobody remembers! Gah! Oh well. What movies do you guys think don't get enough love?

Actually, I'd say that The Black Cauldron is a Disney movie that is really underrated. It has one of the creepiest villains for its time, and the story is pretty entertaining too.

I haven't watched many Disney movies lately besides The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which I never really watched when I was younger because it wasn't as big as the others. It was pretty underrated.

I've never even heard of that movie. What's it about? I may just look for it sometime when I get the chance. Would it be on NetFlix?

I looked it up a little while back because I heard it was one of the darkest Disney movies even darker than Hunchback. It looked a little cheesy but still good. Perhaps I'll get it from the library. Wish I had Netflix.

I don't know why but I think the Hunchback of Notre Dame needs more attention. It's not the first thing that come on people's minds when it comes to Disney and some people don't even remember the name of it! Plus this movie has a darker tone than most Disney movies.

I agree. Hunchback is another movie that is vastly underrated. I'm always a fan of the darker plots when it comes to animated movies, and this one does not disappoint in that regard.

Yeah. It's actually oen of my favorites even though it was rather underrated, although, I think that, like The Black Cauldron, it might have been less popular due to the fact that it was dark, and it didn't entertain kids (main target audience) as much, well, except for the gargoyles, but those felt out-of-place.

Aside from "The Black Cauldron", I think that "The Rescuers" needs a little bit more credit. Admittedly it might not be one of their most memorable animations but it's seldom remembered anymore.

  • 1 year later...

My personal favorite Disney movie is probably one of the most underrated, and that would be "Atlantis: The Lost Empire." Really, it has the feeling of discovery and adventure that I just adore in any movie, and it really harkens back to the Indiana Jones classics while not abandoning the feel of a Disney movie. Add in the colorful cast of characters and for me, this is a classic.

Honestly, I just LOVE this movie!

Along with that, I also happen to love Treasure Planet. The animation is easily the best I have seen in any animated movie, and the characters just feel genuine. I mean, they feel REALLY genuine.

Add in the fact that they're both scored by the amazingly talented James Newton Howard...beautiful. <3

one of my favorite disney movies that is usually overlooked is mulan. some other great movies, as a side note, (I don't know if i should include these because of the fact they weren't owned by disney, but they were some of my favorite animated movies from when i was a kid.) the secret of nimh, an american tail, and the last unicorn.

*Gasp!*

How can people overlook Mulan! It's one the best Disney movies!

I swear, if anybody says "let's get down to business." My next immediate thought  is: "To defeat! The huns!"

Treasure Planet was damn awesome too, but it's somewhat underrated...

Most of Disney's live action are just bad. A few are good and some are great, like Pirates of the Caribbean.

Treasure Planet, The Black Cauldron, Atlantis, Bambi 2, oh my gosh there is quite a list in my mind....I would especially say Bambi 2....because most sequels S.U.C.K (except Rescuer's Down Under, which is actually better than the original)...Bambi 2 is absolutely ADORABLE, and perfect to just sit back and watch cuteness explode in your face.....

Speaking of Disney live action films...really any of them from the 50's-70's are very much under rated. They are all enjoyable and fun, even though they are a bit corny in comparison to today's live action stuff. But the stories are endearing, the fun is there, and there is so much experimentation that just makes you smile (Mary Poppins is just the icing on the cake here)

Yeah..........some Live-Action (as you said PotC, Lone Ranger, John Carter, and a few others), yet, i was mostly referring to the ones you would see on the Disney channel and the channel referring them as "movies".

Badly written, directed and acted, so much that directed to video, but yeah. Movies. Terrible, but movies.

I do not consider anything from Disney Channel worth of my watch, as most shows nowadays, with the exceptions of a couple of legit good shows.

And don't get me started with how unwatchable is Disney Junior, the "kids" version of Disney Channel. I hate EVERY.SINGLE.SHOW.

Not only your opinion, every human with at least one neuron on their brain could see how bad this channel is to children.

I mean, it has my least and probably the worst cartoon of all time.

I want to strangle someone every time I hear this theme song.

Why and how this still exists when Teletubbies has disappeared?
