  1. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~? Okay nvm, I can do without. Good luck with your VA career!
  2. Last thing I bought was a new pair of headphones, since my last pair finally broke. >.<;; A whatnow? I want one.
  3. I still don't like Screamo music, because...eurgh. I mean, I get it, the raw power/emotion, the heaviness etc. But it just sounds...Blech. >.> Also in a love/hate relationship with Electroswing. >.>;;
  4. *Gasp!* How can people overlook Mulan! It's one the best Disney movies! I swear, if anybody says "let's get down to business." My next immediate thought is: "To defeat! The huns!" Treasure Planet was damn awesome too, but it's somewhat underrated...
  5. Everything could go awry though, that's a necessary implicative of dissenting opinions. The articles talks about how extremism gets only voiced, perhaps only due to it's power as majority vote. Nobody stands in the middle ground, so it is succintly ignored. As if the BBC's not biased.
  6. I'm not sure if these CNN bashing posts hold some sort of irony or not. xD (Pssst! Fox is the Conservative one! Ya mixing 'em up anyway!) Ah well, the article seems okay, if a little standard. "Echo chambers r bad!" talk of doing stuff, but no real action. The problem doesn't necessarily lie with extremism, it's that extremism is LOUD
  7. At this point, I have no clue. Obviously some very important reason though, else I still wouldn't have it, right? Right? Also I just noticed it's off-center. well shizz.
  8. I do think people's choice of avatar reflects themselves quite neatly, most of the time. ...which makes wonder what everyone else thinks when they see mine. >.>
  9. Most of my stuff's house or drum & bass, but there will always be a special place in my heart for a bit of electroswing xD
  10. I have a rather feminine frame, so drunk me is often subject to many dares involving crossdressing. (We're mature people ) What's more unsettling is that they actually fit me, and how scarily good I look in them. One of these days I'll probably end up going out whilst cross-dressing for a laugh. (He says, when he's part of the betting pool as to whether or not he could pull a guy in a club)
  11. To not be able to eat with chopsticks would bring dishonour to my family! Srsly though, how else are you supposed to eat instant ramen? 0.o (apart from eating it dry sprinkled with the seasoning packet, like it was a packet of crisps or something )
  12. ...I have heard of none of these, bet I bet I could totally rock a pair of tights. To the shops!
  13. In terms of weird stuff produced by this fandom (and to be fair, any other fandom in general), I've gotta say B@ from EQD isn't actually all that bad, all things considered. Still weird, but meh.
  14. I accidentally dropped a pencil between the cracks in the floorboard a while ago, actually ^^;; I'll have to go and fetch it, sometime. xP
  15. Eh, it's got it's target audience, and it's not like it was ever going to be liked by many anyway. Hence the title. Let people like what they want, so long as it doesn't infringe on anything SUPER weird xP
  16. It is now 1am, I am drunk, and I am really craving the trifle that I already ate at about 10pm... I'd like to amend my previous claim to that, thankyou! xD ...I;n so gonna regret this post in the morning. >.> Oh well! wheeeeeeeeeeeee! 2am edit: Still craving trifle. Biscuits do well to tide it over, though xD
  17. Instant noodles. Because they're awesome, and hard to screw up even when stumbling home drunk 'cause you got kicked out the club (I swear, they've got something against me! xD) That, and I've been known to keep a biscuit stash on hand to eat whenever I study or just generally stay up really late. ...You can really tell I'm a student, huh?
  18. Whenever people realise I can play guitar and go "omg play something" I'll usually default to Wonderwall just to screw with 'em xP Otherwise, I'll instead play the Campfire Song Song, since it's the single greatest song ever written. xD That said, some of the spongebob songs are pretty awesome xD 'Fun' and 'Striped Sweater' come to mind especially xD
  19. I guess more emphasis would be placed on body language or something else then. Perhaps differing forms of sign language would be the prevalent method of communication?
  20. It would kinda hard to differentiate my username from the desert if it wasn't mis-spelled with the k. As for why it's in all caps, that's just the bastardization taken to it's logical extreme. Now, as for why it's pineapple cake in the first place. I have no idea.
  21. Given that music originated from from sounds in nature (in the same way with parrots and that one bird that could emulate ANY sound on that documentary with David Attenborough), I guess a world without music would imply that human development would rely less on hearing, and thus more on...something else. Smells perhaps?
  22. Fine, I'll rant about economics and the development of the service industry instead, then xD Nah, I know the theory but my heart isn't in it to summarise. Someone with an actual interest in watching sports can. xP ______________________________________ Back onto music, Coursera's got a whole buncha courses which might touch on this if anyone's interested. https://www.coursera.org/course/worldmusic https://www.coursera.org/course/historyofrock1 https://www.coursera.org/course/historyofrock2 https://www.coursera.org/course/musictheory
  23. xD I didn't sit through those boring music history/theory lectures for nothing! But yeah, It's not often I get the chance to nerd out about music ...I kinda want to go into huge detail, but then I think I'll look like a huge nerd. Don't make me rant about sports and it's anthropological importance too! I'll do it!
  24. oooooooooooh, no you don't. For a nice succint answer: Music was a vital part in the development of communities, specifically in rallying people together and the development of early settlements. Music has always been a major player in the development of religion (choral stuff, really) and from that, most culture. Further, this constant of 'bringing people together for a greater purpose' can be seen through many different periods of human history (ie. religion,The Renaissance, slavery), not to mention independently in many parts of the world, from which we can surmise that music had a similar impact to human development did as many fairy tales and legends. blah blah blah, music was an important part of human evolution, and the development of all culture, so suck it. xD
