Is the ponies control over Equestria unfair to the other creatures?

In My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic we have seen many intelligent creatures. To name a few other than ponies: Zebras, cows, buffalo, dragons, draconequus (what ms. cheerilee says discord is which implies that since the race has a name there is more than one and they can't all be evil), Minotaurs, Donkeys, and Griphons. I probably missed a few but those are the ones I could name off the top of my head. It seems that most of these species are quite rare in Equestria so maybe they don't live there. But at least a few of the species live in Equestria. Buffalo, Donkeys, and Cows are shown as living in Equestria and Dragons live near it if not in it like the others. All three of those animals can think for themselves and even talk like the ponies. Yet the buffalos are outcasts whom many don't even seem to know exist. Cows are herded they aren't even given a place to be free like the buffalo, they are controlled and herded. Dragons are seen as savage and beastly. Now my question is do you think that ponies ruling Equestria (and seemingly the rest of the world) is unfair to the other creatures?

Technically, it's kind of a symbolic nature of whom we are. We have this stupid believe that it's survival of the fittest, when it should be actually be, what do you think is the truth and can you replicate the results and explain it in a way that benefits everyone and come to this agreement so our knowledge can be combined and be even more powerful together.

The society is definitely pony centric it even shows in their language, with terms like everypony and anypony and there is a strong dash of racism as the episode Bridal Gossip clearly demonstrates where the citizens of Ponyville came up with all these baseless urban legends about the zebra Zecora gobbling up ponies in soups. So yes based on what we have seen so far the way Equestria is being ruled does seem to be unfair toward the other species.

I don't think it's unfair. I think that Celestia probably delegated authority as needed. (Thus, she is technically has authority over the Buffalo, but chooses to let them have their own system of rule within that.)

Zecora, minotuars, gryphons, and draconeques all seem like isolated cases, as they've never been mentioned anywhere else other than they're respective episodes. The dragons numbers seem to be relatively few, and from what we've seen, they migrate - meaning that they're absent from Equestria altogether for periods at a time. (That and the young'uns act somewhat like delinquent teenagers.)

Ponies, buffalo, cows, and donkeys seem to be the permanent residents of Equestria, and from the way I see it:

1) Buffalo are merely content to keep their own traditions, away from everyone else. (Celestia doesn't force decisions on them, and they don't bother the ponies.)

2) Cows may have cognitive abilities, but need guidance. (As seen with the stampede that headed towards Ponyville.)

3) Donkeys are fairly close to horses when it comes down to it. I wouldn't be surprised if they were a part of the pony community.

Besides, Celestia and Luna have hyper powered magic, and it looks like they've been around far longer than any other being in Equestria. They know what they're doing, and if something goes awry, they have the power to stop it.

That's just my interpretation. :P

The answe to this is quite simple: No.

To explain; Their way of Living is equal to ours with some exceptions of course, we don't have talking cows, nor do we have talking donkeys.

Their system is just as or better than the system we humans use on Earth, we are the Superior race here on earth due to several reasons like for example our evolution, social skills, behavior to name a few.

We humans might be the most advanced species on earth, but we sure ain't the best fitted to every situation, but were're one of the best species on earth when it comes to adapting.

"Survival of the fittest" as Darwin wrote in his books, we humans ain't on top because we're "fit" (as in physically strong, good at running) We're on top because we're one of the best at adapting to new environments and living in them whenever we encounter them.

The same goes for ponies from what I've seen from the show, they're the best at adapting, their physical build is also quite perfect for the job. A griffin would get into trouble in the desert from the heat, a donkey would have trouble surviving any long periods of cold weather. The ponies in MLP have the build to somewhat survive under all conditions rather than just a few ones.

The other species just don't fit the bill as good as our multicolored pony friends, they all lack something too make them stand out as the best race, sure ponies aren't perfect either, but neither are we humans.

Another thing is the fact that Pony folk share their land with other English speaking species such as Griffins, cows, Changelings and the occasional Minotaur. This isn't something we humans have to deal with, we're the only race around that speaks the way we do, so we don't have to care about the opinions or needs of other animals, ponies do however.

So in short: The system Equestria is using is fair to some extent, it might not be perfect, but then again, nothing in the Universe is.

Might not be completely fair, but it's honestly the best system. I mean, I don't think a democracy would work that well in Equestria; they don't have computers and stuff and it'd be a pain in the 4$$ to collect all the votes and count them. So then you're stuck with a ruler, and that that is a pony, could be just accidental.

Sorry for the thing that has been in my sig for like a lot of time, I ragequit because I got a warning and then never bothered to get back to the forums and change my sig xd

Hmm well to me it seems right. I mean the pegasus ponies are responsible for the weather of all of Equestria, Celestia and Luna are responsible for raising the sun and the moon everyday. That is a lot of responsibility. To me that seems fair enough. Plus there hasn’t been a large enough representation of any other creature for it to seem even reasonable for another to rule over Equestria. So, in short no I don’t believe it is unfair.

Well there is a built in problem with conquering equestria and becoming the ruler of the world as say the griffons or the zebra. Who raises the sun then?

At most I doubt the ponies are in anyway casting others out of their social group. After all they treated Iron Will and Spike like another one of their own and listened to them. I think it's a matter of can they communicate and are they willing to be friends? After all the ponies are all about friendship. Zecora was obviously a freak case in which ponies were scared of her. They're also scared of dragons for obvious reasons. You can see from the teen dragons the dragons do not approve of the ponies' overly "carebear" lifestyle so they wouldn't want to hang out with ponies. And at most the monsters the ponies met don't really communicate, they usually don't want to live in Ponyville or they're just too dangerous for the ponies.
