@@Kamil, we have a collector? I'll give it to you for a strange Caber, or any offer I approve. My Steam is (Brony) Bullet Magnet, and I'll be on for a little while.

Yeah, I'm a collector. Pretty much keep whatever I can get my hands on, though I'm pretty poor (in-game) so I pretty much got all the regular weapons and now am working on getting strange versions (plus the occassional special thing, like the hats that give set bonuses).

 

By the way, I'm guessing you didn't check the prices before making that offer? I know backpack.tf isn't necessarily 100% accurate or up-to-date, but a Strange Caber for a Strange Homewrecker? I'll pay market price in metal since I scrap my spare weapons, maybe a little higher for a fellow brony, but even if I had a spare Strange Caber (Heck, I don't even have one for myself yet) I'm not willing to take a loss like THAT.

 

If you don't like metal then I could try to find you something of similar value, but I'm not especially good at trading so it's unlikely to be all that impressive.

@@Suzaku, what is the enhancement that you get from your Spy's Haunted Exorcizor? I don't see him as creepy, btw.

Haha I love playing scout. I've started calling him the flying shotgun. By far I much prefer the Flying Guillotine over the sandman just because it recharges faster. I can't hit anything worth a damn usually so that's were my Guillotine comes in play XD.

I use a variety of them all, since I can easily take out a lot of people with those guns:

I usually try to run and throw the Flying Guillotine at the same time, usually picking off one.

I also try (for stronger classes, heavy, etc.), I hit them with the Sandman's ball, and then hit him twice really close with the Force-a-Nature, and then maybe the Flying Guillotine if he doesn't die.

@@Kamil, honestly, I don't even into playing the stock market in TF2. I trade stuff I don't need/want for stuff I DO need/want. It's so much simpler without having to cross-reference prices in real time.

Well, basically:

 

While I like the idea of just trading 1:1 and such, sometimes you just can't forget that you could effectively get much more for your item. For instance this one, a strange homewrecker is not a rare item while the Strange Ullapool Caber came from a Salvaged Crate, making it more exclusive.

Team Fortress 2's economy is fueled by greed. That cannot be denied. The price charts people use aren't neutral, and prices go up on items those who inflate the prices of are hoarding to sell. The only way it could be fixed would be direct intervention by Valve, by means of an officially-regulated price chart.

 

When one does TF2 trading, they should take this advice: Get the items you want, and get out before you get caught up in the mess.

Pfft, 10 bucks is nothing. If you want a real example of the batshit insane values people tie to TF2's items, there are certain unusual hats worth thousands. Not thousands of refined. Thousands of dollars. And the players don't technically own the items in the first place. Valve could choose to up and delete said "valuable" hats on a whim if they so desired.

 

If I ever got hold of such an item, I'd use it to separate some schmuck from their money and pay the bills while laughing at their idiocy.

 

Also, thinking on an idea for a little TF2 contest thing. Not gonna say anything else until I'm certain I feel like hassling with it.

Lots of bug fixes and balance changes heading our way. Like most people I'm happy to see the Dead Ringer get that much-needed nerf, 'cause as an engie or pyro DR spies are by far the most annoying thing in this game.

Seeing everyone here with over 1000 hours logged means that I should probably focus on playing TF2 over the summer. I've been playing since 2009 and I only have 545 hours logged...

and never reset? i know for a fact i have a LOT more than 17 played, but for some reason my hours in many games got reset...

wonder if it had to do with having been in the STEAM upgrade beta's a few times..

Hmm that's odd. I've never seen any of my hours played in games get reset. At least not that i'm aware of. I'll have to go through and look now and see if any of them did get reset at some point.

i just know it has in a few games for me.

Such as crysis, i know i've played more than 10 hours of that. Def more than 17 in TF2. It also says i've only played little under 3 hrs in HL2.. i've played it through at least twice! Homefront.. beat the game and played MP, def more than 3 hours... Portal it has me at under 3 hours.. .2 (notice the little decimal point!) for HL2 Ep 1... no way i'm that fast!!!

ooh dragon age awakening..  .8 hours... beaten that all the way and its def a TON more than  POINT 8 hours lol  either i'm the fastest gamer alive and i didn't know it, or yeeeah.. i've been wiped on a few titles

and these are all games i've owned through steam for as long as i can recall, some of them required steam from day one (HL2)

 

like i said, maybe it was just my time in the STEAM beta's, perhaps i ended up with a few bugs...
