Something about WoodenToaster

Recommended Posts

I've noticed something recently, WoodenToaster's songs are only good when he works with others, and his solo work is horrible.

Now, I don't make music, I don't know how hard it probably is, but it seems that Glaze(WoonderToaster)'s work is beyond terrible compared to the work he does with others, and that just boggles my mind.

It's not like the other guys he works with are bad by themselves, Tombstone has great songs, likwise for Mic and H8_Seed, so I don't even know what to conclude from this.

In spite of this however, is the fact that he doesn't have much songs that he made by himself, though a fair comparison can be made. He Has 6 songs that he made by himself that aren't remixes of other songs, and they are nowhere near as good as the ones he collabarated on.

I just find that weird.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

Woodentoaster did 'Beyond Her Garden' by himself and that turned out pretty good, in fact I remember reading somewhere that Daniel Ingram himself said it was one of his favorite fan-made tracks. It could be just that he's the type of artist that comes out with a hit song every once in a while, instead of constantly generating new stuff like SimGretina does. Just my 2c worth

Signature to come soon. I think. Yeah. Once I think up a nice one. Or when someone makes one for me. Damn it. I need more time to draw and animate poni. >_<

Well, yeah, but the original Beyond Her Garden wasn't even popular untill Tombstone remixed it and Mic sang over it. And it's still not as good as the amazing things he creates in collabaration.

Quality of music is subjective. If that's your opinion, I'm going to kindly disagree with you. She's a Pony and Pinkie's Lie are by far my favorite remixes (of show songs...kind of) in the fandom, and Beyond her Garden and Rainbow Factory are awesome as well.

My favorite Wooden Toaster song though is Nightmare Night, and I don't even think Mic the Microphone had much input on that aside from him rapping, and he's not the reason I like the song. I like the song due to it's awesome music that Glaze made.

Either way, I think that the same could be said about most Brony musicians. I don't like Living Tombstone alone, but when he collaborates with Wooden Toaster they pump out awesome music. My personal favorite Aviators song is Flower of the Season, which he did with Bronyfied. Loyalty, A Long Way From Equestria and I'll Fly Higher are some of Mandopony's most popular songs, which he worked on with Acousticbrony.

Songs that are made by collaborating are usually better as it allows both artists to combine their talents and learn from each other. Besides, I think Glaze prefers working cooperatively rather than independently anyway.

I'll put this in numbers for better arrangment:

1) I agree with that, but this isn't really about opinion as much as it is popularity, and the songs don't just get more views by the two artists combined fans, it's also because people like Glaze's collabaration work better.

2) I'm not saying that he doesn't do much for the collabs, as I'm sure he worked on it a lot more than Mic, at least in terms of what was needed to be done. But it's still a whole lot better than his solo work, therefore I stand by what I said.

3) Once agian with the opinion thing. (Almost) Every single Tombstone song is more popular than Glaze's songs, likewise with Aviators, Bronyfied and even H8_Seed.

4) I agree, but it's not what I'm trying convey here, so...

It all comes back to what I said, his work is just out-right better when he collabs, and the difference between the quallity of his solo work to the quallity of his collabarations is a very large gap.

WoodenToaster makes great music - also by himself only. Rainbow Factory, Pinkie's Lie, Beyond her Garden, She's a Pony (a remix though) and even his latest non-pony-related song Pixel Rush is good! The collab songs he makes are great too, songs such as Lost on the Moon, Awoken and Love me Cheerilee springs to my mind. And yea, I'm a total WoodenToaster fanboy xD

But really it is just about opinion.

YESSS! Nightmare night is by far the best song I only found it today and I have listened to it over and over again it just stand out so much!

Glaze doesn't really have that many solo tracks, really. aside from Beyond Her Garden, Rainbow Factory, Pinkie's Lie, and this new song Pixel Rush, his music consists mostly of collaborations and remixes.

i don't think they're any worse for that, though. the only one i don't hold high in favour is Pinkie's Lie, but that one is a pretty old track compared to the other songs. Beyond Her Garden is great, and the fandom needs more EDM that isn't dubstep or house. Rainbow Factory is very haunting. Pixel Rush i haven't actually listened to yet.

i don't think there is a very large gap of quality in his solo work, personally, but that may just be me.

I have noticed that a lot of the more well-known brony musicians lack the attention to production that would be required to get a remix posted on OC ReMix.

I object. WoodenToaster's music is AWESOME! Think, Rainbow Factory inspired the really famous fanfic with the same title. And Avast Fluttershy's Flank is extremely popular.

And WoodenToaster has such a magical voice!! You cannot deny that!!

I don't listen to a lot of WoodenToaster, but other then Rainbow Factory and Beyond her Garden, I kinda don't like it. He has very few songs he actually did on his own, and the two mentioned before are probably my favorites, as the quality of music is rather subjective.

I almost spat out my Juice when i saw this. Seriously you can't just assume that EVERYONE thinks his solo songs are bad. I think all of his songs are AMAZING! I loved Pinkies Lie, Shes a Pony, Beyond Her Garden, and definatly Rainbow Factory. That one is still one of my favorites. And all of his other songs are great too. Everyone has their own opinions on music.

He's i think was the First Brony musician i ever litsened too. He was one of the first i believe. He definatly helped influence my outlook on this fandom. It is a shame though he doesn't do more work. But hey the man does have a life outside of pony. And when he does make a song, you know its gonna be epic. Yay Glaze! :D
