gaming Okami

So, has anyone heard of or played this magnificent game? Surprisingly few people I know have played it, and I was wondering if anyone on here had heard of it.

If you have played it, what did you think of it?

I kind of feel like it is a diamond in the rough, especially the wii version (mostly due to it's marketing) and I'd just like to let more people know about it.

It's nice, colorful (kinda jk), and it's on the PS2 (one of my favorite consoles /)^3^()

This game is wonderful in my opinion. Okamiden is ok as well.

Yeah, I loved the story most of all in it. The bit where Issun tells everyone to pray for Ammy makes me shed manly tears every time.

My favorite PS2 game, an absolute masterpiece. Story, visuals, and the gameplay were all soooooo good. There were a few issues witht he game, definitely not perfection, but still nonetheless amazing. Also, DAT SOUNDTRACK

The soundtrack was just so brilliant. When you first entered Ryoshima Coast, that feeling of awe and grace was so good. Also the atmosphere from the soundtrack when in the sunken ship actually scared me massively at the time, during my first playthrough.

I've heard some good things about this game, but I've never played it myself. Even without playing it, though, it's clear that the art direction in this game is incredible.

 

There's also an awesome Minecraft texture pack based on Okami, if anyone's interested.

Im writing my first blog entry here at the forums about this game, I think any one ANY ONE who loves videogames will fall for Amaterasu and her adventures.

 

I maybe will make a video blog entry because this game is a MUST to anyone who is willing to learn how to dream. Right now is out to on PSN for $20.00 on awesome HD please do yourself a favor. Spend those bucks PLAY THIS GAME, you dont even need to thank me after you do. Thank yourself for trying it and you will be much very welcome.

You think considering how many otakus are out there, more people would buy this game. My family isn't too otaku but they STILL got the original PS2 version which barely anyone bought.

Amazing game, one of Clover's best along with Viewtiful Joe. Played the Wii version for hours at a time, simply an excellent game to pass a boring day with. The brush was awesome, the story and exploration were great, and it has one of my favorite final boss fights of all time(seriously, every gamer should experience that boss fight), so good.

Ah Okami...I had heard great things of it when I saw it. And I was not disappointed in the slightest. Seriously, the humor, the art, the gameplay, the bosses...THE EVERYTHING! I loved it the moment I played it, and never stopped. I did not regret that I had to stop oither things to play the game. Not at all. And another reason to like the PS2!

oh my god yes!!!!! i LOVE Okami and Okamiden (though i unforunetly lost it in i think...New York... *lives in Canada* T_T but i still absolutely loved it...i still haven't finished it though....i'm sorta scared to do Oni Island to be honest...but yeah an epic game with an even more epic soundtrack.

Yep, I picked it up because Nintendo magazine recommended it and I love it to pieces. I also bought Okamiden, but finding that was a pain, Nobody seemed to sell it. :/

oh goodness no, i know there is more of it then that i'm just...horribly scared to keep going in Okami...partly because i know i'll SUCK at those races with...um...oh yeah Tobi, plus...i know of the Blockhead at the end...those things are nightmares...

Ah I see. I don't know, I don't remember those sections being all that difficult in my experience though, pretty great dungeon in my opinion.

I've seen this before! It's truly a work of art, and 'goddesses' know how long it took for the artist to finish!

Pffft, you have not met Blockhead Grande. And trust me when I say this. HE. IS. A NIGHTMARE. There are fewer times were I was so glad that I had beaten a block of rock. <_<
