What would have happened if Rainbow Dash had met "New" Fluttershy?

Pretty much, what the title says. Just occured to me during another thread. How do you think Rainbow would have acted and reacted had she seen Fluttershy during the events of Putting Your Hoof Down?

 

If it was me, I'd say, that she'd make a HUGE double take, then maybe even compliment her, then realize she's well on her way to become Gilda nº2, and probably try to stop her, which could have totally changed the events on the episode.

 

What's your take? I don't really know if this was posted before, but oh well. Hope it isn't.

She probably would have been completely disgusted, with fluttershy being her childhood friend and all.

I think it would probably escalate into a fight though.

If you want to know, I think it is best portrayed by this particular author. Dash Bash. I like this story and It really well portrays the events that possibly could have happened.

To be honest, I think it would have gone worse than with Pinkie and Rarity. Fluttershy has known Dash for so long that she really knows what would rip Dash apart to hear, it would be much more personal. She has years of mistakes that Dash has made to throw at her and as we see in Sonic Rainboom she has a larger grasp of the insecurities under Dash's exterior. I don't think Rainbow would fight her though, rather just fly off and feel like garbage for a while until Fluttershy could apologize.

It would have been interesting to see in the episode though

If I am honest, I'm more curious what happened after Fluttershy nearly fell to her death from Cloudsdale. I want to know how Dash reacted. She almost died, with Dash responsible! There has to be more to their backstory than this!

Mm. I think she would argue back, not go sentimental like the others said, it's not like her that way. Usually she became a jerk back if someone did so to her.

 

So I think a big fight would occur. Rainbow Dash isn't quite as understanding as Pinkie and Rarity.

Well, I just read the fic, and I friggin favorited it. Pure and simple. Thank you for posting it. Regardless, I had never considered that part of Rainbow, and it does make sense (I think thanks to the fic I just realized how almost "symbiotic" the friendship between RD and 'Shy truly is). However, like Clarity said, this is Rainbow Dash we're talking about. If there's one pony who can easily become a gigantic rollercoaster of emotions in the same way as Pinkie Pie, it's our favorite cyan-colored pegasus. Rainbow can try to stand up for herself, even against The Stare and forwardness of "New" Fluttershy. A fight between those two can totally happen as well. It isn't really something given. RD's personality is still the same, even if, the one insulting the hell out of her is her BFF. Hell, Dash had seen her not quite in the worst of the moments of Fluttershy, she might have even encouraged it. But like I said, 'Shy went worse than Gilda in less than ten seconds flat. It really does depend on what moment does RD see Fluttershy, and how does she handle it initially, in my opinion.

She would probably be proud of Fluttershy actually standing up for herself, and when she stands up to Rainbow, RD will be in awe then congratulate her on her efforts.

Welp, if something had happened such as RD seeing what happened to Pinkie and Rarity, Dash would confront her and asked what she was doing, they'd probably argue, Fluttershy would probably insult her, by bringing up something about how RD is constantly training for the WonderBolts, and still hasn't been accepted. Rainbow would be more shocked than annoyed, and Flutters would leave her there, pretty much what I think would happen. xD

I could actually see them as friendly rivals or something of that nature. I think Dashie's competitive nature would oversee "New Fluttershy's" mean/negative traits and would clash in various conflicts. But I think they would respect each other in the end because they both wouldn't take crap from anybody, and New Fluttershy, despite being more formidable, would realize that and wouldn't dare try to pull a fast one on Dashie.

 

But, that's just me talking, can't really know for sure unless New Fluttershy returns (hopefully not, but it was actually kind of funny seeing Fluttershy make Rarity and Pinkie Pie cry because it's like the tables have turned hehe).

i was thinking maybe a reverse of chracters? if flutershy saw rainbow dash acting in a very deeper realm of persnality of rainbowdash then from the shock some how rainbow dash would start acting like flutershy (for a small time before being snapped out of it) it would be fun to see a comic or somthing where these happns

Like many people have already said, it'd be back and forth bickering, at least to start off with. Dash would give Flutterbitch a run for her money for a while, but after a short bit, Dash would most likely let her temper boil over which would cause her to rage quit in some way. She'd say something along the lines of 'Tch, you're acting ridiculous, Fluttershy! Come find me when you stop being a bully to everypony!' and then fly off.

 

If Fluttershy struck enough personal nerves, like the story mentioned earlier shows, Dash might tear up and sniffle in her rage quit, but she wouldn't outright sob and cry like Rarity and Pinkie did, and if she did she'd wait till she was out of earshot and sight from anybody, at home.

Hmm, that is an interesting idea. My guess is that it would start as bickering with RD eventually just leaving. There is simply less leverage for insults: Rainbow does not seem to consider her own shortcomings (laziness, overly competitiveness ect.) actual faults.

HOWEVER, if Rainbow were to witness Fluttershy going to town on Pinkie and Rarity, she would probably just slap her back to her senses.
