I'm considering starting up a new service where I will take a drawing provided to me, and convert it into a digital, colorized form. Would anypony be interested in using such a service? And if interest is expressed, would anybody be interested to help me in this endeavor? My method is to trace the drawing in Inkscape. Easy peasy.

Okay. I'll get to work on them on the first chance I get. I'd like to make a disclaimer, though, my recreations will only be as good as the drawings I'm using to make them, and if you could minimize eraser lines, it'd be super useful.

Um..The hair is like a reddish brown. Sort of like this file:///C:/Users/Valued%20Customer/Pictures/red.png or a little brighter.

 

Also the uniform is supposed to be these colors http://images.reanmachine.com/anime_colex05.png

 

Um...Um...Oh the ears and tail are black and the insides are pink. The stockings are black as well. Thank you so much! PM if you need any more details. Btw this is nonpony..

As far as I know, there isn't software that does this INSTANTLY. If there is, I'd be willing to bet that it would trace lines that were erased or caused by shadows or folds on the paper. I have to more or less trace it with vectors. This way, it's precise. However, it is free, so don't freak out too much about it.

 

If I'm being asked to trace an incredibly complicated drawing, however, I will likely ask for something in return. Not money, but maybe a drawing or a graphic, or help designing an idea I have for an OC. Something like that.

Basically, yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. It just takes patience to do, because to the best of my knowledge there isn't a program that will do it flawlessly for you. I use Inkscape, it's a free vector program I'm well acquainted with. The main problem with Inkscape (Assuming you know how to use it) is the fact that it periodically crashes. That's what happens with free programs.

 

If you have a image from GeneralZoi's Ponymaker, or anything similar, I'll find it easier to get the colors exact, too. Otherwise, I"ll have to estimate the colors, which, while easily correctable, takes up time.

It's all right. I didn't really specify that this thread was more intended to gauge interest, rather than take requests. I don't really mind, though.

 

I'm starting on yours now. I would have earlier, but I was watching "Too Many Pinkie Pies".

 

 

*EDIT* Update:

 

I started with your AJ one, Red. I'll fulfill your requests, and upload them before coloring them, because I'd like you to tell me if I've done it properly. The lines in your drawings are kinda faint and hard to see. For future reference, everybody, the darker the lines are in the final result, the more accurate the vector will be. (I'm not advising you to draw it heavy-handed. Just to, when you're done, trace over it again slightly more darkly. I'll add this at the top, too.

 

Here's Red's completed AppleJack. It's just the trace, I've been notified via message that he'll color it himself. I'll work on the other one tomorrow if I get the chance. If not, Red, you'll get it by Tuesday at the latest.

Imgur would work for you. I don't think you even need an account on Imgur to upload there. Completely free, too. Don't worry, it'll work out for ya.
