Gray was lost in thought while eating his sandwich; "I should probably head to my cousin's house after this, but there is plenty of time.. perhaps I can-" 

 

 

 

 

Gray's eyes focused on the unicorn who suddenly introduced himself, he raised a eyebrow but then his proper manners quickly took over and he smiled.

 

"Why, hello there!" Gray said enthousiastically to the unicorn "The name is Gray.. Gray Cover, it is a pleasure.. Is there something I can do for you?"

 

As Gray spoke these words he inspected the unicorn with more precision, "Nothing truly out of the ordinary." he thought, Gray did ponder about his cutie mark though.. "A moon? I wonder where his potential lies.."

 

Gray putted his sandwich beside him, for he is expecting a conversation and thinks it is a little rude to eat while having one.

 

"Oh, nothing you can do for me but when I see somepony I've never met before I just feel compelled to introduce myself" Moonshadow replied "So I was just wondering where you're from and why you decided to visit

Ponyville, not that you really need a reason to visit Ponyville, it's such a nice place to visit and all but you look like the type of pony is always going somewhere, what's the word, what's the word...AMBITIOUS! THAT'S IT!" Moonshadow ended excitedly. "Oh, sorry, I tend to talk too much sometimes" he looked nervously at the ground hoping he hadn't annoyed the older pony.

"It's my job though" Moonshadow started again without even realizing it, "well sort of at least, I handle keeping everypony in Ponyville happy and having nice dreams, sort of like a psychologist, but I do most of my

work at night though, looking out for bad dreams and helping out ponies that are having nightmares, it's an excellent job, so much fun and I get to do it at night while I'm asleep too, isn't that brilliant! A job I

can literally do in my sleep and I get paid for it, mind you I've still got to do daytime therapy sessions with ponies that are having lots of trouble but still- oh, I've done it again haven't I, sorry I really didn't mean to, I just have a tendancy to go on and on when I'm explaining something and-" Moonshadow stopped, forcing his mouth shut before he could make it even worse, he looked back at the ground nervously.

Gray had a surprised look on his face after Moonshadow's outburst of words and he chuckled.

 

"He seems like a very nice and caring pony, if not a little too excited and ambitious.."

 

Gray took in all the information he was given by Moonshadow, from all the words he spoke to his behaviour and said:

 

"First of all, Thank you for the compliment.. I shall return this favor by saying you are a very nice pony by actually feeling compelled to introduce yourself, that your job is commendable and that you are very ambitious with it yourself!" Gray smiles and nods at Moonshadow, Gray continued;

 

"Second, I don't mind ponies who talk about the things they love or show how ambitious they work with them.. Again, I adore that you can have such great ambition in yourself that you actually keep on explaining without even fully realising it yourself." Gray chuckled at his own little remark and still continued on speaking:

 

"..and third, a piece of advice: Do try to get some breaks when you are talking about something with someweone.. Or the conversation will be like this one; 'You say a leap of lines and words and then I say a leap of lines and words..'  Almost like it is some kind of obligation." Gray smiles and hopes it all got through to Moonshadow.

 

 

Gray looks very satisfied with what he said and did think he perhaps went a little overboard, considering they just met. "Ooh well." he thought. "Lets just see how he responds."

Iron Wing was walking to the Everfree Forest to get to the check point she had in mind. Suddenly Colt reacted unusual.

 

 

“Wait Celes” Colt called for her, “Where are we going I thought we were going to fly over Everfree”

 

"Hmm? That´s correct, but i have to look for something first." she answered and pulled out a map. It was a military map with tactical notes everywhere. She had marked every spot where she had fights since she had arrived and doing her patrols. And she had marked a lot of spots. "Hmm.... zone 5 D ... check.... zone 6 E.... check...." she mumbled and wrote down some informations in her notepad. After that she folded in the map and put it back in her saddlebag.

 

 

“I mean, it is the only way to get there” he blushed a little not trying to be over pushy, “Well not the only one but surely the most safe and quick”,

 

Celes turned around and looked at him with a curious look in her face, not knowing why he wanted to fly that pressing. But then she recalled that he wanted to show her something too. Perhaps something within the Everfree Forest? At least she would have the chance to sing the song she promised him if they would be alone on this place. She started to grin and set up a welcoming expression. "Hmm... you are right, i have said something like that. Since this is your first patrol, you wanna take the lead?" she asked him, giving him the chance to show her what he wanted to show. Also this gave her some time to think about some things. "I will follow you of course, but don´t expect high velocity, i am wearing a heavy combat armor after all..." she explained to him, looking at her also armored wings.

Colt eyes shined with joy, and with a strange glow (not figurate) as she let him lead. He spread his wings raising some dust and started to lift from the ground “Come on Celes, don’t worry is not far away”. The both climbed into the air going deep into Everfree. Colt didn’t really knew this place it just got his attention the day he flew towards the mountains on second day at Ponyville but he knew that place would be perfect for whatever both of them had in mid.

 

“When we get there you will have to trust me” he told Iron Wing, “you may see and feel things that you are not used to but none of them would harm you, I would never harm you” he said a little nervous of what was coming, as he was talking and looking towards her Iron Wing was able to see how his eyes were still shining like lighted from his inside with a golden shine.

 

It took no more than seven minutes flying with a comfortable speed it was a nice day the wind and sun felt wonderful, he wasn’t used to fly like this as Ponies didn’t reacted so well for his “shape” in the sky but that was in the past, she was all that matter now. He stopped and started hovering with his wings and Iron did the same, “Look there it is” he said pointing down to a “lake” perfectly walled by the green color of the Everfree. Walls of stone kept that raised at its limits isolated the lake from the foliage and a magnificent turquoise blue could be seen from above reflecting the color of the sky.

 

 

 

“Well not there here, but we are almost there, Come on” the dragon said with some excitement on his as diving towards the lake stopping right above the water, rising his head and sight waiting for his special somepony to fly by his side, By that time the glow in his eyes was even more fiery and a deep tint of golden could be seen in them.

 

“I hope she likes it ” were his thoughts when he saw Iron Wing arriving at his side at the middle of the lake.

“Come on Celes, don’t worry is not far away”.

 

"I am right behind you!" she said to him as he lifted from the ground. She spread her wings and the heavy armored wings did some mechanical sounds. It took alot of effort to fly with this weight but with a strong lift off she managed to follow Colt. They flew above the Everfree Forest, going deeper into the landscape. From this height the Everfree looked gorgeous and Celes was excited about what he wanted to show her.

 

 

“When we get there you will have to trust me” he told Iron Wing, “you may see and feel things that you are not used to but none of them would harm you, I would never harm you”

 

See and feel things i am not used to? she thought and followed somewhat silent the dragon. What could that be? After several minutes flying behind Colt, he showed him a lake that was walled within the Everfree, a place she had never seen before. She pulled out the map and looked on it, not finding this place on the known map. She put the map into her saddlebag and continued following him.

 

 

“Well not there here, but we are almost there, Come on”

 

Colt started to dive down towards the lake and she followed him, looking at the scenery that was before her. He stopped above the water and she had to slow down her descent because of the weight of the armor. She looked like a flying knight, a fortress on legs and she had to maintain much strength in her wings to fly. She noticed the glow in his eyes and she now had a reason to be excited since she knew that it had a magical source. Celes was always a bit skeptical about magic, but since he didn´t hurt her until know, she trusted him. Iron looked around the place they were hovering and had to smile because of the nice view he showed her. The lake had clear blue water and the surface sparkled with the sun shining on it. But was this was he wanted to show her, or was there something more? With a face expression full of expectation she looked at him, not knowing what to say.

The scenery was gorgeous, around the lake white stone walls raised, all of the filled with life and brimming sounds and colors. Vines grew down painting with green leaves and red flowers the white rocks. Multicolor birds flew from edge to edge creating a very wild tune with their singing. But this natural haven was not what he was willing to show to her and Iron Wing was about to finding that

“Come closer Celes” Colt told his marefriend closing his eyes, she fluttered towards him until she was on the reach of his arms and then stopped. “Don’t be scared ok ? all is going to be fine” the dragon told her with a soft voice and a relaxed smile. He was different now he was “in his element” and willing to share it with her.

There was a strange atmosphere around the two of them, Iron Wing for sure was able to tell so, then Colt let loose his arms down to his sides, his legs went together stretching them and his wings extended to the fullest. Some strange “breeze” started to flow between them in such an unusual way Iron wing was able to feel this breeze caressing her fur below the armor.

“You can stop flapping now” the dragon said with his eyes still shut Iron Wing realized Colt’ wings stopped some time before but he was still flying now levitating or something.

She was able to see something around them, an almost imperceptible ethereal cloth was all over and below them moving like a living membrane so fine even a soap bubble could be considered rough in comparison. This “sphere” covered them started to “call the water” below them making a current that covered them in a bubble floating in the middle of the lake. But this was just the beginning of his “gift”.

The sphere began to move, maintaining the mare and the dragon in the same position, it started entering the water creating a perfect blunt on the calm surface of the lake becoming bigger as the sphere kept going down in a slow but constant pace. Soon Iron Wing was able to see the lake was around them and moments after they were covered by it. The sphere kept going down creating a shield between them and the depths of the lake showing her all that lied below.

Iron Wing could felt she was floating, floating in thin air like as in the water, the breeze was sustaining her with nothing to oppose to her movement. Some seconds later they were close to 50 feet under the water surface and the world in there starter to show its beauty, the vines the roots from the trees above, fishes as big as a pony painted with so many colors swam around them all lighted with the endless dance of light beams that came from the sky beyond the water.

Colt finally opened his eyes looking into her eyes with his still glowing irises, “Look up Celes” he told her softly taking her shoulders in his claws and turning her around so that her back could rest on his chest. The show began.

The water broke the light of the sun at the exact time of noon, reigning on crest of the sky and shattering an unlimited amount of colors below the curtain of crystal clear water. A dance of performed by rays of light was among and around them. Each one of the beams was born in the endless formation of “mosaics” generated by the movement of the water creating for each moment a different figure and formation that never failed to amuse the eyes of the couple witnessing them.

“Hope you like it Celes here is your stage” Colt told her with glowing eyes and a shy smile over his lips.

"Yeah...  So we better look around before we go to the apothecary."  Dusk started intently looking around for signs of other changelings and ponies needing help.  "Well, I'm not seeing anything here, how about you Dawn?"  He went back over to where she was. "See anything?"

 

 

"thanks Rain, Mom told me that wedding planning was a stressful thing. just a glass of water, sweetie"

hunter kissed him on the cheek and started to wonder

where would a good place for lunch be?

"lunch sounds great, where should we go to? twilight, you know this town like the back of your hoof, anywhere nice?"

Rain nodded. "Sure thing Hunter, your Mom was right its pretty stressful but we're smart ponies and we'll get through it with out a snag."

Twilight

"I'll have the same as Hunter. You know we could head over to sugar cube corner and ask pinky to help with the wedding if you want. They also have awesome pastries if you haven't gone yet."

 

Hank nods "well i would love to.. and do you have any special cider? Or normal cider? I got a bit of a headache and cider always gets rid of it.. well for me... maybe we can go a resturant. I wont mind paying for you all. and maybe we can get to learn about each other more?"_

Rain nodded to Twilight. "All right I'll get everyponies drinks oh and Hank if we have some Hard cider I'll get you that cause I woudn't mind some my self!" Rain smiled and went to the kitchen to get the drinks and came back out a minute later with a small serving tray of drinks of which he passed out. "Okay, for the ladies water and for Hank and I some hard cider!"

Lasso Lad's ears droops slightly after Applejack's negative remarks as he simply watches Colt, Iron Wing and Applejack recover the apples that have scattered across Sweet Apple Acres.

 

"Ah'm sorry that ah forgot ta keep th' cart in place, but ah guess mah tiredness got th' best of me, ah guess." Lasso lad apologizes to Applejack.

 

Meanwhile at the marketplace in Ponyville, Arisaka is having a really difficult time cooking the sushi because a large number of hungry ponies to gather and surround his market right after one of the ponies have tasted sushi that was made, albeit poorly, by Arisaka as he frantically makes more and more sushi, trying to not think about running out of sushi as he desperately cooks them thoroughly with a metal pan that was heated by small branches as he hesitantly tosses the cooked sushi at the crowd, one by one, as they pay Arisaka, but with moderate amount of bits, because of his tardiness and struggling to speed up the process.

 

"Arisaka... exhausted... too much... demand!" Arisaka panted heavily as he watches the ponies trot off, their hungers satisfied, but sees that he felt that Arisaka has earned medium amount of bits as his ears drooped with disappointment.

Dawn noticed the crowed of ponies. "Dusk lets see what that crowed is about." She and Dusk trotted up to the angry mob of ponies and with a spell increased her voice to rise above the roar of voices "Hey! Everypony calm down! What's this all about!?" The crowed settled down a bit. "Than you." Dawn smiled sweet and innocently as if the huge voice hadn't come from her. " Now whats goin on?"

Hank takes his "thanks. It helps calm me down. Right now. I got a headache from hearing about 13 voices in my head all yelling so thanks. And its very nice to see ponies this nice. It was around 11:00, and Ponyville's resident Biology expert, Cyber Pulse, had only just woken up. His alarm clock had been set to 6:30 PM instead of AM, which is why he hadn't been up for a long time. This was essentially his only off-day in the week, so he figured that he might as well have had some well-earned rest. He dragged himself out of bed and went downstairs to grab a pop-tart or something before he went grocery shopping.

 

As he was fumbling with his slightly-broken toaster, he noticed that his roommate Cornflake wasn't home. This was pretty odd, since his alcoholic, pornography-addicted roommate usually stayed home whilst he went shopping. Nevertheless he managed to get the toaster working, ate a couple of pop-tarts and went out to do his weekly grocery shopping.

 

Upon arrival, however, the normal stands seemed to be joined by an extra stand: a sushi stand (or at least, that's what it looked like), which was being run by an exhasperated looking Asian pony, and surrounded by a large mob of ponies. Intrigued, Cyber approached the crowd.

"Wha.... what?" she just replied, not believing him at the first moment. If she stopped flapping, she would fall within the lake, not able to come up again. Her huge armor would force her to sink deeper and deeper and perhaps she would drown... But... as she looked to Colt, he didn´t use his wings anymore. She took a deep breath and stopped the movement of her wings, closing her eyes for a moment. But she didn´t fall, so she opened her eyes right away. Was this one of his magic abilities?

"Woah woah!" she just said as the sphere began to sink down into the water. Celes panicked a bit looking how they sunk deeper and deeper into the lake. This was against everything she knew about amor and water combined. Having a weird feeling she couldn´t do anything but to watch and hope that this 'bubble' would last long enough. She had a face expression like a unicorn who lost her horn.

She looked up and got sight of the spectacle of light showed in front of her eyes. It was a beautiful show she never had expected to see, and soon she forgot about her fear beeing under water. The rays of light that continued moving with the water surface and created something like show lightning with every colour of the rainbow... the sight of the underwater world she she never had seen and the animals living there... it was unbelievable and difficult to describe. She stared at the scene not able to form words, Iron just didn´t know what to say to the dragon.
 

“Hope you like it Celes here is your stage” Colt told her with glowing eyes and a shy smile over his lips.

 
Celes looked at him with an expression on her face like a foal who had seen snow for the first time. Iron couldn´t describe anything and just decided to do the only thing she could do to show him how she felt. She smiled brightly and made a cute squeaking noise. She cuddled the dragon like never before, her feelings just overwhelming with joy and excitement. After some silent minutes she calmed down a bit, beeing with her special somedragon in this underwater world. Slowly she started to hum a melody. Not much at the start, but slowly getting more tone in it. She raised her voice a bit, singing a song, a song that described how it is like to be her, about honor and her life. She got into the song, giving her best to let Colt feel everything with her voice. Iron didn´t know if he could feel her emotions with his magic, but she felt proud, strong and honest. Giving all her knowledge and help to the ponies nearby who needed it, always stand up even if there was no chance at all. Trying to give her best all the time for the sake of others.

Out of breath and still struggling to make more and more sushi with proper cooking procedure as more crowd sets in as Arisaka earns more and more bits by the hungry crowd. Although Arisaka was used to making sushi with precise speed, he has never dealt with extremely large and impatient crowd with hunger setting in, especially when satisfying their hungers. When fruits and vegetables, and pizzas, weren't enough, Arisaka, having overslept on the job, struggles to do his very best.

 

"Arisaka... cannot let everypony... leave with hunger...!" Arisaka sweats as he makes sushi onto the metal frying pan; some which are perfect, some which are sloppy, but well-made regardless, before giving them to the hungry ponies as they pay the bits for him.

"So err... who the hay is 'dat  pony an' a massive dragon that hav' mentioned mah name, Applejack?" Lasso Lad asks Applejack, having only met Iron Wing and Colt the first time.

"We were hungry!" Said a crowd of ponies to Dawn. They couldn't help themselves when hunger was setting in, especially during lunch hour, which causes Arisaka to hesitate in an effort to cook up sushi as quickly as he can, even though the earth pony is struggling to serve it up as quickly as he could.

"O... he is Colt" she said still in a weird kind of stupor “He has been working in the farm for all the week”  she stoped for a bit with a mix of ideas in her mind “And she is… his marefriend?” Applejack was still confused maybe she didn’t get the whole thing going on between the dragon and the Pegasus but then she snapped out of it and gave an wicked grin to Lasso Lad “Come on Lad cut the chatter we need to end fixing all this mess, otherwise Ill be wasting my Sunday” were the words from the orange mare going back to work "Wait till the girls listen to this" she tought

"You could say it some some sort of vacation, I'm trying to see the rest of Equestria.. However, I don't really have that much experience and wanna take it step by step." he said and thought he perhaps revealed a little too much but shrudded of the thought and went and to tell Moonshadow the whole bunch.

"Well, I won't keep you any longer, it's been great to meet somepony new but I think it's time I let you get back to your lunch, hopefully I'll get a chance to see you again soon" he said happily. Moonshadow turned "bye" he called over his shoulder as he began to walk in no direction in particular, just going for a stroll around town like every day.

Gray nodded and said "Off you go then." he also just realised he was eating lunch because Moonshadow pointed it out, something he also forgot while having the conversation.

 

He grabbed his sandwich and took another bite, the bread became a little dry.. but he didn't mind.  "Bye." he heard from Moonshadow who was walking away and Gray nodded in response while his moustache was filled with crumbs.

 

"The ponies here seem to be very sociable.. Good." he thought and continued eating his little lunch.

Saphina giggled and decided to accept Sky's challenge. she took the huge piece of cake and tried to devour it in one bite like Sky did, but she couldn't make it and the chocolate dough covered her muzzle. she giggled again. she munched the cake and swallowed it, "Alright alright you win". she smiled and finished the cake on her hoof.

Sky stifled a laugh when Saphie tried to devour the whole cake and made her muzzle covered by chocolate, but still insisted to finish the cake. She looked ridiculous but funny at the same time. Another side of her which he had forgotten for years. He grabbed a tissue on the table and used it to clean her from the dough by reflex.

"so, Twilight and I decided on Sugarcube Corner for lunch, sound right to you boys?"

Hank nods "sure that sounds good." He finished his drink and set it on the table smiling. "Maybe while we are there. We can get to know each other more?" He smiles taking his hood off and they can see a scar where what looks like a horn should be at. "It feels hood taking the hood off." he looks at the three forgeting about the scars on his face. One over his left eye so he cant see from it and it has no pupil. Its just plain white. And the scar where the horn should be.

The look in her face was beyond everything he could have wish for, every one of the mare’s reactions was a reward for the dragon that in many ways he thought he didn’t deserve. The warmth of her mane reached his scales melting his heart and the feeling of her breath took away everything else in the world by that moment.

Then it started, what he was waiting for began with a soft tune coming from a melodic voice inside the bubble. Little by little she started to rise bringing a melody full of…well Iron Wing. Colt was dazzled she was giving him all, her care for others, the value of her duty, her desire to create and on top of that noble and kind heart. He was able to perceive all of this deep within his soul, forging even more the dragon’s feelings for Celes.

Iron’s voice fade out with a cute blush in her face, Colt just could do one thing and soon she was between his arms and wings in a soft but unbreakable embrace. “Thank you so much Celes that was beautiful … you are beautiful” he said with a soft kiss over her lips. There was so much he wanted to tell but, it was not possible he felt sorry and in a way ashamed for it but during that time where the two of them were floating inside that magic sphere under the light of the sun surrounded by water he was only able to feel happiness.

They stay like that moving without gravity for some time with their hearts talking over their beats, until the sphere started to move very slowly towards the surface.

“Thank you so much Celes that was beautiful … you are beautiful” he said with a soft kiss over her lips.

She enjoyed the kiss and his sweet words as the sphere started to rise up to the surface again. Celes leaned against him, enjoying his body warmth. But with all the good feelings some other emotions mixed in, she got reminded of that dreadful day on the battlefield, the day she recalled herself beeing an iron clad monster. She shook her head to get rid of the thoughts and she hoped that they wouldn´t come back. Iron Wing was not the perfect being and she had weaknesses and fears. One of this fears were old memories, and usually if nobody could watch her, she would sing one of the clans battle melodies to get rid of them. But Colt didn´t want to hear them... and she didn´t want to scare him either. She clenched her teeth to withstand the urge to begin with a song. She finally sighed as the tension and the feelings were gone and she relaxed again. Iron Wing knew that Colt would be able to feel something if he wanted to, but now she didn´t want to speak about it.

 

Celes just wanted to see him happy for this day and to enjoy the family meeting tomorrow. As the sphere reached the surface, she made herself ready to flap her wings again and to fly with normal circumstances. Iron Wing waited until Colt undid the spell so that she could move freely again. "It was a nice sensation Colt and i will keep this within my memory forever. I promise you that." she said with a happy smile. "Um... i have to rest for some minutes. Do you know a silent and peaceful place where i can sleep for some minutes?" she asked the dragon a rather unusual question. Just don´t ask why... she thought, hoping that he would have a nice place in mind. Her wings started to feel heavy, not because of the thick armor or her losing stamina or something like that. It was something else, draining her strength in a matter of emotions.

The sphere came out of the water and the membrane of water and magic faded as if it had vener existed, Colt felt some unease coming from Iron, in a way it bother “Well that was hard for her, maybe the song took more than we both expected” were his thoughts.

“Well I don’t know any place like that but I have an idea that can work out.” He said pointing over to an incredibly big tree that raised on the south above all the other foliage in ever free. “I bet we can find a place to rest there”, he said with some apprehension on his voice. They both flew over there with a relax pace Colt kept behind her just keeping an eye over Iron if anything would happen to her.

But it didn’t they both got over the amazingly big branches on the top of that tree the leaves over them filtered the light of the sun making a perfect place for a noon nap. “This is a good place, I don’t think we will be able to find something better close” he told to her and notices she looked tiered and disperse.

“Are you alright?” he asked her with concern.

“Well I don’t know any place like that but I have an idea that can work out.” He said pointing over to an incredibly big tree that raised on the south above all the other foliage in ever free. “I bet we can find a place to rest there”,

 

Iron Wing nodded and started to fly into the direction of the big tree, searching for a place to rest. As she flew above the lake she felt that she had to get to the ground soon. They soon found a good place and Iron started to land there, looking around. Colt was right behind her.

 

 

“This is a good place, I don’t think we will be able to find something better close”

 

"That´s right... it looks perfect." she answered him and laid down on a nice little hollow on the ground. It fittet perfectly for her and the dragon so she made herself comfortable. She had some problems with tense muscles and her wings didn´t want to retract that good. She had some effort to get them back into position and the mechanical parts made some noises too. Finally she got it and could rest a bit.

 

 

“Are you alright?” he asked her with concern.

 

Celes looked at him with sparkling but sorrow eyes and shook her head. "Don´t worry about me, i just have some thoughts that bother me. Just need a bit rest to get a clear mind again. I don´t bite, you can come close, but get sure that i get to snooze a bit." she answered stretching. Of course that weren´t just thoughts... it were memories of a past battle she participated in ans where she got the scar on her right eye... the scar she used to hide under her mane. Slowly she passed out, going into the realm dreams, hoping that she would awake soon and not have Colt waiting to long.

Worried about the blue Pegasus Colt lay down right to her side with his four paws on the ground his wing went over Celes trying to make her feel safe and his head rested over the wide branch and the thin bed of leaves below them. His eyes were fixed over her. “What is what burden you so much?” were the dragon’s thoughts “well you are not the one to talk about that” his mind said it was a hard one he was so ashamed of not being brave enough to trust her his past. Slowly he began to fall asleep two days of constant magic exitement got him tiered and slowly fell having in his eyes always the image of his dearly mare.
