Synopsis: When Trixie makes her way back to Ponyville, as "great and powerful" as ever, she decides to prove her might once and for all by challenging and defeating Twilight in a duel of magic, causing the latter pony to be exiled from the town.

From the previews it appears as if Trixie no longer speaks in the third person.

 

Makes sense.  If you watch Boast Buseters carefully you'll notice that she speaks normally when she feels that she's not trying to perform...

 

All in all, I'll say that this episode's rating will be decided by two things (I've seen all the spoilers).

1) How much time Hasbro devotes to explaining Trixie's background.  Seriously, they only need ~50 seconds to do it right, but Hasbro hasn't had the best record recently with character development (Sombra).

2) Whether the resolution is believable.

-Trixie pulled a Flutterrage face.

-Fluttercommando is quite stealthy.

-Trixie is now nice?...

 

In summary, Magic amulet with lots of speculation, a tyrant Trixie, a couple of flank whoopings, MASSIVE amounts of breaking the 4th wall, and Pinkie Pie. Me Gusta!

That episode was really good! As much as I hated Trixie before, I'd never think I'd start to like her. I really like how she became nice and somewhat humble at the end. And baby Rarity took all of my manliness away.

So far It's an ok episode. I was not expecting an age spell from trixie. I put 99.85% of faith into Twilight. I know she can. I JUST KNOW IT!!

Is it just me, or is Trixie suddenly being the most sadistic villain the show's ever had?  Let's see, so far she's: (1) almost killed a background pony with a wagon, (2) physically altered ponies in rather disturbing ways, most notably the age spell she cast on Snips and Snails, and (3) cut off all of Ponyville from the rest of Equestria!!!  Gosh dang, Trixie's a stone-cold b*tch!!!!!!!!!

After watching the first 10 minutes of this episode, I have to wonder how anyone thought that Trixie would ever turn nice after Boast Buster.
