Chaosknight 10 January 16, 2012 Share January 16, 2012 Since there's a princess that runs Equestria, I'm guessing she makes the laws as she sees fit. Although from what I can guess they put for stock in rehabilitation over retribution, or in simple terms, help them become good instead of locking them up...with a few notable exceptions
BlazingDawn 52 January 16, 2012 Share January 16, 2012 I think there are 4 options: To the MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON Turned to stone Imprisoned, like how Twilight said it in Season 1 Episode 22: A Bird in the hoof Or pardoned but reprimanded. "Hell is full of good meanings, but heaven is full of good works" I would love to learn how to shuffle. DevilsAdvocate 4 January 16, 2012 Share January 16, 2012 Banishment to the Ever Free Forest or serving a life time sentence in the Equestrian Dungeon or banished and locked away in the place that they are banished. For the hardcore offenders they are turned to stone.

Ezynell 2,037 January 16, 2012 Share January 16, 2012 Princess Celestia obviously rules with an iron hoof offscreen. Why else would there be no crimes ever commited? GAK

chrisbiby 18 January 16, 2012 Share January 16, 2012 (edited) sorry about the wall of text but it was kinda necessary i believe that there legal system functions like the US legal system (with some minor changes) in which a problem is reported to a socially authorized party (in big city's it would be the guard, in small towns it would be a sheriff or someone who the mayor has deemed responsible for enforcing the laws) they then handle the investigation (if needed) it will the go onto the court system for the ruling. the punishments are usually restitutive (community service or paying a fine) and in some extreme cases there will be jail time. there legal system is more restitutive rather than repressive (imprisonment) mostly because the most common crime would probably be disorderly conduct. so if you are loud and obnoxious then you will just have to pay a couple bits, if you steal you will probably have to go to jail for a while or community service, and if you commit a violent crime... well that's what the moon cannons for. on an unrelated note everyone should take a basic intro level CJ or law class that way you know more about laws. Lady Rarity Pony 4,892 January 16, 2012 Share January 16, 2012 Banishment seems to be what everypony is afraid of so I go with that. LRP's opinions are subject to change without notice. Fees and penalties still apply.
Fizz. 1,078 January 16, 2012 Share January 16, 2012 I would say communist. Celestia rules every tiny bit of everything. That's not communism at all. That's totalitarianism, communism is the most democratic politic system there is, the people vote on EVERYTHING. Which is why no country has ever been actually communist, though they call themselves it. 1 http://alt="img-3411728-1-kQpW0ME.png">

Radiance64 7,053 January 17, 2012 Share January 17, 2012 They probably banish the disharmonious because they would be a danger to Equestria otherwise.

Pony Joe 583 January 17, 2012 Share January 17, 2012 I imagine that, for relatively small crimes, it's similar to what we have in the US. Fines for petty crimes, community service for the slightly more severe, and jail (dungeon) time for the highly illegal. Our life sentences and death penalties are replaced with banishment to the Everfree Forest and the Moon, respectively. That's really all there is to say on the matter. Kodiak 431 January 17, 2012 Share January 17, 2012 Maybe banishment, or being thrown in a dungeon. But probably banishment and being thrown in a dungeon in the place where you're banished to.
