Will Shining Armor and Cadence have a baby?

I mean...I hope she gets pregnant and has a baby. It could make for a good episode or something if Twilight ends up babysitting it like a favor from Cadance for babysitting her for all those assumed years. I dunno'. It's just something I would like to see.

Ok ok Genepool I get it. No alicorn colts anytime soon. Though it would be cool they mentioned an existence of one in an old pony tale or make a reference to one. Like in a Daring Doo story title like "Daring Doo and the Crown of Prince Alicorn" or something.

Not trying to be mean, but i'm just saying what i've seen as Hasbro has decreed it since it is "their" show and DHX has a little artistic freedom.  Probably why I don't like Alicorn Twilight since there could have been a decent lesson about her advancing on the inside, while the studious unicorn stayed the same on the outside as Celestia bestows the title of Princess to her and the title is just honorary.  Part of me already foresees a Hasbro executive's attempt to meddle more with the show, though it's their show and they tailor it to their order like a person ordering a sandwich at subway, by saying Equestrian History decreed that after Princess Platinum that no pony would be refered to as princess unless they were alicorns.  Or, if Princess Celestia turns out to be Princess Platinum, that all alicorns are princesses because they are special and are fit to be rulers because they represent all three tribes into one unified being, etc....

 

Now, I won't say it's 100% impossible for an alicorn colt to be born/shown in the show. Though what I will say is that I find it extremely unlikely to the point that it won't happen.  Comic books, paperback books, and the like will be considered non-canon lore wise and will be simply created to sell that form, unless stated otherwise by the show's crew.

Oh I HIGHLY doubt SA and Cadence are gonna even have a kid in S4, or possibly ever. If they do though, my best bet is that it'll be a unicorn if anything. I don't think alicorns work that way XD

I used to think that if they had a baby, it could be an Alicorn, but that was before "Magical Mystery Cure" and The Crystal Heart Spell book, where we learned that ponies become Alicorns through transformation, not genetics. So, no, it won't be an Alicorn.

 

There's no guarantee that Shining Armor and Cadence will have a baby, but I think it could work well and be interesting. Twilight and Cadence could face the difficulties of being princesses and having to take care of a baby at the same time (assuming Twilight would be their baby's foalsitter).

  Yeah, I'd think that it'd be a unicorn, had they had a baby at all. But I think it'd make a nice episode, as long as it doesn't just go crazy like the Cake Twins (too predictable).

 

  However, do we know that ALL alicorns become alicons through transformation? If this is so, couldn't they make a few more backstory episodes supporting how Celestia/Luna/Cadence became alicorns? They did the same with the Mane 6 getting their cutie marks.

 

  All in all, this would make a nice episode, and probably an interesting character in the future (And I just love seeing the little foals in the show. They're so adorable!).

Well, in the toy canon they have a baby named Princess Skyla. 

 

 

Now, she won't exist out of this actually. D: Much like Sunset Shimmer, she won't be canonically in the show at all.

I think it would be really cute if they actually used Princess Skyla in the show, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Hasbro has a habit of doing weird things like that.

I really like the idea of Cadence and Shining Amor having a baby in season 4. As for what the baby would be, I think it would be cool if the baby was born an alicorn. It would be a great plot for an opener episode.

 

The first baby alicorn born after 1,000 years. Sounds good to me. Besides, we don't know if Celestia or Luna were turned into alicorns or were born.  

 

Also I see great adventures this new baby would have with Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake.

I think Shining Armor and Cadance having a baby in season 4 would be pretty nice. A baby would be a nice addition to the show, and it would open up new plot possibilities. Twilight being the baby's foalsitter could work as an episode, and it'd be interesting because Cadance was Twilight's foalsitter. In the episode Baby Cakes, Twilight believed that Pinkie Pie was not cut out for babysitting foals, and figured Pinkie Pie might need some help. Pinkie Pie was really hurt by this, but ended up proving Twilight wrong. Perhaps Twilight will be unable to take care of the baby and end up seeking Pinkie Pie for help?

 

As for looks, I can't help but picture Princess Skyla. She has a good design. However, she looks around the same age as the CMC to me, so she probably won't be the baby unless there's a time skip. 

 

To answer your last question, I think the baby would probably be a unicorn. It seems that becoming an alicorn is something you earn rather than inherit. Then again, we don't know how Cadance became an alicorn in the show canon, so yeah.

Whoa whoa whoa, now, just because there are a pair of alicorn sisters does NOT mean they were born alicorns. That just silly. They are the perfect team, and becoming alicorns cold have quite possibly been a direct consequence of instilling one of the greatest bonds between them to achieve ultimate rank of Alicorn. And honestly the idea of Cadance and Shining Armor having a baby? I'd be ok with this, I dunno if it'll happen or not, but i'd be cool with it, I find foals pretty cute in the show honestly. So i wouldn't mind them having one.

If they do have a baby it'd probably be a alicorn filly. I wouldn't mind this too much as long as they went into more back story on the royal family. Like how did the two sisters become alicorns? what about their parents? how is prince blue blood related to them? and lastly how the hell is cadence a princess? But lastly I think a baby would be nice cause it'd give them more personality depth
