If I had the opportunity to I would choose to be a pony! And I would be a Pegasus that way I don't need to spend money in order to travel long distances or just have an easier time going short distances. Only thing I would miss is my hands...

Unquestionably.  There are several factors that make me believe we would all be better off as ponies.  First of all, like all herbivores ponies have a herd mentality vs. our predatory pack based mentality.  Meaning the group is more important than the individual.  Secondly their society was founded on friendship and mutual respect.    I do not believe a pony is capable of cold blooded murder for these reasons, it is simply beyond them.  Sure they'll defend themselves and are probably capable of taking a life if the need were to arise but they would take no pleasure in it.  For that reason I would give up meat, fingers, technology and all the other perks that come from being human.  If only to exist as what I see as a superior life form.

When you say "we" there are many ways to take it.  Personally I would jump at the chance to be a pegasus or unicorn.  I would also accept the responsibilities of being an alicorn (and do not fool yourself -- being an alicorn PROPERLY would entail HUGE responsibilities).  As for "we" if "we" means the people who would want it from the brony communities and/or the people who frequent MLPforums, we probably could as a group fit in in equestria.  There would be enough peer pressure and world magic to keep us in line, although the mane 6 would have quite the fan club.  If we were removed enmasse from the world though, it might cause a negative influence on what was left of course.

As awesome as it would be to become a talking horse in either this land or the one that's full of sugar and rainbows, I'm not sure if its awesome enough for me to be one. I was born a human, and quite honestly I'd prefer to die a human. Besides, even though I don't believe that humans are the filth of the earth, I hear that all the time from this forum, and I just don't get why a different body would change that. Pony or not, the mentality of a human is still there which is what causes the most problems.

Well I'd like to thing of it like this. If we all started out as ponies since the primordial era (or something close to that time period) we would most likely turn out just fine. We would gradually go through history, gaining knowledge, discovering new things, and I suppose we would all eventually come to the "present day" ponyville. I suppose in that case we would turn out like we did in the real world, discover the world around us and come to me a "modern" civilization for the time period. Also considering that everyone would be a different special type of pony, we would be much better off in things such as transportation (there would be nearly no uses for planes), construction (considering that unicorns can create anything they please using magic) and labor (considering that earth ponies are such hard workers).

 

But in the case that we all woke up one day to discover that we all had been permanently turned into ponies by some unknown force, then we would basically be screwed. None of the current day "human fit" technology we have today, would even be usable for us. I suppose that if some of us turned into unicorns/alicorns, we might have some slight chance of survival considering they can magically just transform anything into an image of they're liking. Then all of the current objects we have today, could be fit for ponies if our unicorn/alicorn brothers and sister changed them to be fit for ponies. And in another case, if we all turned out to be earth ponies, we would indefinitely be turned to ruin. Being that we are all earth ponies and can't just magically change things to our liking, we would have to redesign and rebuild every single object we have to this day to make them fit for ponies. But I'm sure by the time we came up with an idea, all sources of food would be exhausted, all power wouldn't be running, there would me no means of communication other than vocal (being that we all still speak our current languages), and we wouldn't have the tools to fix these problems due to the fact that we can operate any human designed object using only our hoofs.

 

But if I had to choose between human or pony, I would most definitely choose pony.

 

Now, onto the topic of choices. To be honest, if I had to pick any type of pony it would most definitely be Alicorn (woop woop, alicorns FTW)

 

Haha, no I'm just kidding. If I really had to choose any type, it would definitely be earth pony. I know most people would say "hey navy, why would you pick a freaking earth pony? Don't they have like absofreakinglutely no powers what so ever?". Now I know that it may be odd in some sense to want no power what so ever. But the truth is that it's not really a matter of which pony has the coolest power (because if it were, I would choose to be a pegasus), it's more of a matter of how well the species represents me. I'm nothing too special. I'm a hard worker, and I'm always out to help others. I can cook, grow food, and believe it or not, I lived on a farm in my early childhood (XD eeyup). Also, I think my deep devotion to AJ might have a slight influence to it too (see pic above).

Actually, Earth ponies do have powers, they are magically connected to nature. Earth ponies are the only ponies that can grow food, which is the whole reason for the conflict between the three tribes in the early days of Equestria. The pegasi and unicorns basically strong-armed the earth ponies for food.

 

The way I see it, each type of pony has dominion over a different aspect of the environment: Earth ponies = ground, pegasi = sky, unicorns = magic/supernatural. Each is vitally important for the survival of Equestria.

 

I personally chose Pegasus because of the flying.

Well I think being a pony would be interesting, I don't know if I'd prefer it over human seeing as I've never been a pony.

However If I was to be a Pony I'd certainly choose Unicorn. Why? Because magic .

 

Although the cruel people could be even more cruel if everyone was pony's Seeing as pony's have magic and wings and stuff .

 

Needless to say, I'm curious how it would be like to be a pony. Of course I doubt I'll ever know, oh well guess I'll stay human .

I'd love to be a unicorn. I think it would be great. But with greatness also comes some drawbacks. I've had this example in my head for a long time, and this is the perfect place to say it. If we were all ponies, then keyboards would have to be huge. Imagine typing with big hooves and no fingers. Whew, not fun. Believe me, I've tried.
