Yeah, I am christian. I have a few atheist friends but it doesn't stop us from being friends. I thought a lot of bronies were atheist after all the threads I have seen but I guess not after seeing this thread.

Thank you for the signature Jenny Wakeman.

There's other Christians here? I'm actually kind of surprised I haven't seen this topic before. :P

Most bronies I've met have been very anti religious. >.< Anyway it's good to meet some who are Christian.

I'm a Christian and I even teach Sunday school to the youth at my church. I like what the person above me said about it not being a religion because it really isn't. It's more of a relationship than a religion.

I only have to say that I wish I could be more regular with my Beliefs. I am a Lutheran Missouri Synod and I saw all the Bigotry and two face nature of the church. There is so many who say yes I follow Christianity and then they are some of the worst people on earth Monday through Saturday and Sunday they are good little Christians. That is something that has bothered me to no end and is why I have kind of moved away from the church. I don't know if its just something I noticed living here or if its everywhere it just seems like If Jesus walked to the door most churches wouldn't let him in because he would get the carpets dirty.

I walked away from church for several years because I got tired of all the hypocrisy, but God has showed me its about your own personal walk with him. We can't change other people around us or make them act a certain way.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, Phillippians 2:12

We are called to work our own salvation out and not worry about what everyone else is doing around us. We're only responsible for our own actions. Don't give up on God just because people have failed you because people are flawed but God isn't. I hope this helps. Message me anytime!

I haven't given up on god just the church. I would rather spend my days with the sinners and maybe get some of them to see then to spend days with the hypocrites. It is our duty to spread the word and by being our best we might get an audience that's ready to learn. Hence my verse for life.

"Blessed are Those who hear the word of God and obey it." Luke 11:28

We are told to be leaders of men so that is what I try to do every day.

I honestly feel like America has become lax when it comes to Christianity. I feel like a great sleeping sickness has fell over the church and that most people want to hear something that will make them feel good instead of convicting their hearts and drawing them closer to Jesus.

Yes, I am a Christian. and Damn right I am proud of it. I do not go to church. Although I do read the bible when necessary, I pray every night for loved ones, famous ponies that have passed etc. and I do believe in God.  I used to go to church when I was little but, now my mother and father have a job so it's kind of hard. My old babysitter used to take us to church with her and her kids. So I do have religion just not much xD. Deal with it. img-1379355-5-xtWXQl1.png

  • 1 month later...

I'm a Christian girl that comes from a pretty Christian family. So it's kind of hard.

They pretty much say:

"Being Gay is wrong. Atheists are dumb. YEAHHH REPUBLICANS ROCK!" and stuff.

But I'm like:

"Being Gay is fine I mean I used to think I was bi. Atheists are fine. I'm a democrat. (not that your political party matters with religion."

So it's a pretty hard life :D

Yeah, unfortunately, with the whole gay debate going on, churches are doing one of two things, neither of which is right..

They either....

a) Conform to society and accept homosexuality as not being a sin. (Let the flame war begin, I know, but the Bible does say it's wrong. However, I am not a fan of option b either, if you keep reading this post.)

The other thing churches seem to do is

b.) Not necessarily as exterme as Westboro Baptist, but churches will hate on gays, and shout, and only had to the flames of this debate and continue to make the gay arguement stronger because of how they're acting.

My main point is there's a christain way to deal with things, and please remember, everything you do represents christainity as a whole. I think a lot of people forget that.

On another note, a while back, I asked if anyone was interested in a MLP Forums Bible Study. If anyone is interested, please quote this post or mention me and reply to say you are interested. If I get 10-15 people interested, I will start it, but anyone will still be welcome!

Evangelical Christian here. I'm more on the fundamentalist side of things. I've been going to church my whole life, but I didn't understand what the Bible and God really meant until I really started getting invested in it. I'll tell you though learning the purpose of the Mosaic Law in and what it means for those in the old and new covenant is really eye opening.

I'd hate to double post, but I want to say I'm interested. I have many questions about how it will be done. I'm also starting school and work soon. It may be hard for everyone if thats the case.

I'd like to make the statement that going to church as nothing to do with faith. I've only been once in my entire life because the preacher that married my mom and step-dad said he'd work for free if we came to his church that weekend for a service.

I believe religion and faith are two different things.

"You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. You taught me that Life's about change, about learning to accept who you are, good or bad. And I thank you for that."

I would like to make a statement that going to church is something that should be done as a response to faith. Being a part of a church is really important for having a healthy relationship with Christ.

Church going is definitely not mandatory yes, but it IS still very important.

The biggest misconception of church is that people go there to "go to heaven". That's a very sad belief to follow, for Christ did not mention our human actions as conducive to entrance in heaven. In fact, he goes completely against it! We live by faith and not by sight! We live from the grace of God and the fact it was all Jesus Christ who saved us from sin. It had nothing to do with us and it was all Him. Even the Holy Spirit entrance into your heart when you decide to follow Christ in all your ways and begin a relationship with Him is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit at work in your heart, which came first.

That being said however, the primary reason for church-going is to meet other fellow Christians and to grow in faith in Christ. A follow divided from his fellow believers may be more susceptible to a falling away from the faith. They'll feel alone in their struggles and wonder whether God is really there for them as Christ stated in the Beatitudes. The very famous saying goes, "Two is better than one."

I would also like to point at the early Churches. None of them would have flourished under the severe persecution of the Roman Empire if it were not for a strong Christian community filled with followers and preachers like the Apostle Paul and Peter who guided and rallied the believers under the banner of Jesus Christ. None of those churches felt a sense of ritual or obligation when they attended the underground churches. They did so because they loved their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and they wanted to sing together, to cry together, and to grow together

I'm not trying to say it's wrong to not go to church. I'm saying church isn't a designated building that people are obliged to go to. That's one of the most saddening misconceptions many people have of church today. The original intent of church is a community of believers under Christ who are given spiritual pep talks from a spiritual leader (ie pastor) to revive the community under Christ's banner and to encourage them to live by faith knowing that the fellow believer will support them when they need it most (mind you this does not equate to taking advantage of the fellow believer).

I feel very saddened whenever I see an atheist profile. I love to make friends with everypony, but I feel depressed on how Christianity is decreasing, I also feel sad for the atheists themselves, I cannot believe that the universe just.....happened!!!! Though I understand there is no proof God exists, I choose to believe he does.(though there is still proof of bible stories that have actually happened) Our country is also slowly starting to stray away from its constitution, and God. We used to be a Christian country. Now, more and more politicians are atheists. As much as it pains me to say this, sometimes when terrible things happen, I get atheist thoughts, I hate it!!!! I would not be surprised if we soon get an athiest President. That would be a huge wake up slap to the face to all Christians that we need to try convert friends/family, or even strangers into Christianity. I respect and admire atheists for being to live life without God, but that does not mean it is the right way.

I wish more people would call me ,"sir"....without adding, "You're making a scene".

Christian brony here, and not counted among the typical brainwashed "Bible trumps verifiable fact, I don't feel like thinking for myself 'cause it's just too hard" Christians that make up the bulk of mainstream Christianity these days.
