An allusion you spotted in an episode that nobody else did.

Anybody who found a pop culture reference (or allusion) in any episode of MLP: FIM, feel free to tell. The one I spotted was in the episode "May the Best Pet Win". When Rainbow Dash has her wing trapped under a boulder in Ghastly Gorge, it reminded me of the autobiopic "Between a Rock and a Hard Place" by Aron Ralston (later adapted into 127 Hours). About a rockclimber who had his arm trapped under a boulder and being forced to amputate it.

I don't know why I brought this up, it just came to me.

That could be the case.  This cartoon is full of allusions to other cartoons, movies, and literature.  Because I'm an avid Powerpuff Girls fan, I can easily pick up on the Powerpuff references here.  That cartoon also had a ton of allusions and parodies of other stuff.

I believe the Caterlot Wedding fight scene was a reference to the Powerpuff girls movie. In the scene where they fight an army of apes and monkeys the scene played out exactly like they way we saw it in the canterlot fight scene.

Also in "a Dog and Pony show" in the opening sequence with Rarity making the dress, when I saw the rubies I thought of Legend of Zelda. Look at the rubies and you will know what I mean. Also the song playing in the background in this sequence sounds like a background song you would hear in Legend of Zelda (at least for me it did)

Legend of Zelda fan so I would pick something like this up.

There is one and it was sad for me.

One of the things I always praised the show was the fact that there wer NO human references in it. Skulls, masks, monuments books all was clean of human references making me enjoy how creative the team was ponyfying all.

That was until I re watch "Suited for Success" like for a 8th time or so and all just cruble. I felt a little hollow inside me as I found ONE and maybe only human reference in the show (i know is not big deal but let me make some drama).

Twilight dress, has or is supposed to have al 12 zodiac constellations and the one that always showed since the making of the dress until the debacle of the episode is Sagittarius. Made of half horse and yes half man… sob sob

Ummm

You do realize that there was another human reference in the show?

It was the character "Iron Will"

He is a minotaur.

Half-bull, Half-human

Don't know if you knew that.
