Think I'm willing to give her another chance to redeem herself in the S7 finale, her episodes in 2013 are still great today and I would love her episodes to be back to that sort of quality.

I'll be honest, her episodes in recent seasons just haven't been great lately, mostly due to her responsibilities to being a princess but in her first year as an alicorn, it has this feel that made her enjoyable because she was still the same pony that we all know and love.

I agree.  Amending Fences is still an awesome Twilight Sparkle episode, though, IMO.

I wouldn't put it in my top ten, but it isn't terrible. We get a classic Twi freakout, some clever use of magic (that book spell is awesome) and the pictured pony hugs. Spike got some equally awesome sarcastic comments in, and Pinkie managed a jab or two too. We get a callback to the very first minutes of the very first episode, and to meet some background ponies.  Have trouble feeling much sympathy for Moondancer's epic overreaction though, and Twi's clumsy attempts to fix things are less adorkable than you might hope, and mildly painful to watch.

Amending Fences had a pretty profound effect on me, it's certainly one of my favorites. I remember Moondancer being the subject of a lot of fanfiction early on- she seemed like a pretty low-hanging fruit for a friendship lesson. I'm glad they revisited her.

She was certainly in desperate need of one (not that Twi herself wasn't, of course) - The Minuette group seem to be kind, friendly and forgiving ponies, who went to Moondancer's party only to be dismissed because Twi was being her usual antisocial self. I know they didn't resent it (nor did they resent Twi being Twi) but they still deserved better from Moondancer than to be treated like that.  I find it hard to be sympathetic to how Twi treated her, when she treated her other friends no better herself.
