That's really the first time I've drawn anything since High School,which was back in the mid 2000s...I've been in the drawing mood for the last week or so, just doing random doodles and sketches.

Fluttershy is indeed a great example of the element of kindness. I love her for her compassion towards others, and they way she handles herself in situation. Yes, she may over react sometimes but she always comes up with a solution that suites everyone.

Indeed. I also love how she's becoming more naturally assertive as of late.  Becoming less of a "door mat" as everyone seems to call her.

I'm glad that she's finding that balance of being assertive without going Flutterbitch. Looking back, she is the same kind and adorable pony that we began to love, but she has gone through that personal development. Those initial traits are still there, she hasn't become a completely new pony, but her fears and timidness have become tempered through the experiences that she has shared with the Mane 6, allowing her to shine.

I've noticed similar development in the other Mane characters. Twilight has seemingly overcome some of the more OCD aspects of her personality, or at least made it so they're muted to the point where they won't cause problems. Rarity has gradually become less vain and self-centered. Pinkie is... Pinkie, but she hasn't had a full-on psychotic episode since The Last Roundup. And Fluttershy is becoming more self-confident.

 

She's still got a long way to go. "Baby steps", in her own words. But the best thing about her is, no matter how her personality changes for the rest of the series, we can count on her being just as adorable as she is now.

She does have a bit of ways to go yet. I'm curious as to what  she'll be like, come season 5. I suspect little changes each episode, I don't think they'll drastically change her character enough to impact on who Fluttershy is supposed to be. She'll be the same pony we  know and love, just with more confidence and certainty. And maybe perhaps, some other little things.

 

Regardless, I'll always love her <3

I hear many people say that fluttershy is the worst and "Why won't she just come out and say something instead of cowering?". When i hear these comments I always get into defensive fluttershy mode. She is the sweetest pony of them all and just hurting somebody's feeling crushes her because she cares for her friends that much. To be perfectly honest, I don't know how anyone can hate Fluttershy because she just cares about everyone so much and kindness is the element of harmony that is my personal highest value so it almost goes without saying that Fluttershy is my favorite pony.

Who doesn't love Fluttershy? I want names! Just kidding but really, Fluttershy should have another episode all to herself.

Yeah! Why didn't she tame that Manticore? Why didn't she tell off that Dragon and that Cockatrice? Why didn't she get Iron Will to honor his 100% satisfaction guarantee? Why didn't she save Cloudsdale from drought? And why didn't she get Discord to punch himself out in terms of trying to take over?

I think that defeats the whole purpose. Kindness is what defines Fluttershy, she is there for her friends in times of trouble, she may be scared but she always comes through for them. She has overcome her inner struggles, and while I would like a Fluttershy heavy episode, I think she shines most when she is helping her friends and demonstrating her Element.
