Creamy Arty 6,252 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 (edited) What do you get when you add the Animal Empathy skills of Fluttershy and Elly May Clampett then reduce it by 1/4? Mine. At least when it comes to domesticated animals. Never met a dog, cat, bird, or horse that I couldn't befriend. Can't say that I have an absolute favorite breed of dog, but I am partial to the Siberian Husky and the German Shepherd. Alaskan Huskies are probably cool too but I don't think I've ever met one. Small/toy breeds (lap dogs) can be a bit loud, but they're the best for cuddling. I have a Yorkie.I'd just like to say that I've met several Rottweilers and have never had a problem with them or even felt threatened. Like most dogs, they have their own peculiarities, and if raised properly they can be just as safe to have around as anything else. Here's my little boy: That picture is a few months old and he was in need of a bath and a trim at the time, but I was on the verge of moving so I put it off until moving day arrived. His groomer can also serve as a babysitter if you time things properly. I'll dig around for something more presentable. An Old Head 4,816 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 The Kooikerhondje is an absolutely beautiful breed. Very playful and caring, too. Really makes a great companion - our family took care of one when we visited our grandparents in France. There aren't many of them in the UK, so I'll be doing a lot of hunting when I want to get a dog after moving out
Harmonic Revelations 8,835 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 Black Labradors are my favorite, they're friendly, loyal, and generally good dogs. I have only owned a few dogs in my life so my experience doesn't give me much to go on. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Such gentle dogs, would never hurt a fly. Amazing family dogs, very social, very pretty as wel Though I am kind of biased, since my family always gets this breed (though for good reason) Something about those dogs' eyes creeps me out to no end. It's really creepy in a way, I don't know why I think that, honestly. I don't know if it's just my imagination that makes me think their eyes are creepy. I'll be honest, its not the best cavalier picture ever, and the eyes are kinda creepy there for some reason (normaally cavaliers do not look like this) but it nicely shows off the three colours, from left to right, Tan, Tricolour and the rarer Ruby for !!SCIENCE!! xSexyWafflesx 4 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 My favorite breed would be an Australian Dingo. They're just adorable! I also adore Pitbulls and Pit mixes. I have a Dingo and my brother has a Pit mix.

Magpie 623 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 German Shepherds. That might just be because they are the only big dog breed I've been around much. Excepting a Labrador, which we used to own, but he was quite violent, and bit anyone except me.
Mr Dash 1,820 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 I've always wanted a Golden Retriever. They have always been my favorite breed. And I still want one later in life, even though I was bitten by one when I was young. Like, don't underestimate my power man. Come join us Friday nights for Movie Night @ The CMC Clubhouse: 5pm CST. Starflower 323 January 28, 2013 Share January 28, 2013 I'm a huge fan of any dog with huge floppy ears. Like Beagles, Cocker Spaniels and well, if they have long ears, I'm pretty much a fan of it. I have a 4-year-old cocker spaniel named Abby. She's adorably hyper xD

All I had was a chicken biscuit, two hash browns, and a fruit & yogurt parfait. I gave him some of the chicken. You have to be careful with yorkies. Their systems are delicate and so many things make them throw up. Kyoshi made this ^^ Come join us on Equestria.tv on Fridays at 6 PM Eastern for our weekly movie nights! And I still want one later in life, even though I was bitten by one when I was young. Goldens are wonderful pets. I've had one for just over 10 years, and though he is a bit crazy at times, he is a joy to have around the house. Keep in mind though, that they tend to develop joint and hip problems later in life, and they are prone to develop epilepsy. Overall though, they are one of the most playful and lovable breeds ever. It is pretty unusual for them to bite humans.

Leatherbehlt 465 January 29, 2013 Share January 29, 2013 Hmm, Labrador Retrievers, pugs, and Yorkies (I have one, though they're not my favorite) My mom's friend has a pug, which we were babysitting this weekend. Adorable little buck head, though he's loud as crap and sounds like a horny turtle when he breathes. ...
Sugarcube 213 January 29, 2013 Share January 29, 2013 I use to love all dog breeds, but after 2 years working in a grooming salon I have defintley learned were my prefrences stand. I love working with Pit Bulls, I have never ever had a problem out of a pit in the salon, not a growl or a snap or anything.other than a lot of wiggling and excitement to be around people. I would love to have a pit but sadly there is a pit ban where i live Mastiffs of any variety, they are such big gentle giants, my boyfriend wants one when we build our house in the next few years. But my most favorite breed has to be the one sleeping next to me right now, just a good mutt, I love my basset hound mix more than anything Honestly a part of me still loves all dogs, because for the most part a dog's behavior is reflective to the care and love an owner shows a dog, working with dogs and their owners has really shown me that, every breed has its quirks but you always know by a dog's behavior how they are treated at home and how much time and effort an owner spends with their dog. 1 I may have been born yesterday sir, but I stayed up all night - El-P
HallowsEve 52 January 29, 2013 Share January 29, 2013 This conversation comes up quite a bit at my house. My dad has a black lab mixed with boxer and pit. My stepsister has a long haired chihuahua and my other stepsister has a wolf/husky mix. I personally like huskies and also springer spaniels.
Envy 6,169 January 30, 2013 Share January 30, 2013 English bulldogs, for sure! My family now has three of them, and I love them to pieces. They're very much an acquired taste. When my parents first considered getting a bulldog I was like "Why in the world?". Now I can't believe I ever thought that. They are very sweet dogs, and actually very cute, too. 1 Everything needs more woodwind!
Zygen 6,066 January 30, 2013 Share January 30, 2013 I use to have a dog who was a mix of alot of dogs, but mostly Jack russel and lab, so I really like those dogs. Now I have my stepdads dog who is a miniature toy poddle(Actual breed apparently.?) Shes kinda annoying at times, but she is pretty smart. I've never had one, but huskies are pretty sweet. My dad's a vet, so I actually feel kinda bad how I can't think of any abstract breeds to sound like I actually know something . 2 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! King Tryndamere 100 February 11, 2013 Share February 11, 2013 For me, it has to be jack russell terrier. My mom found one and she's so sweet and energetic and she even covers her face sometimes like she's acting shy. I think they have a ton of personality (although then again, I'm biased ) I used to prefer cats over dogs, but jack russell terriers won me over to the dog side.
