What do you think is the most epic moment in MLP?

Tough choice, but I think I'll go with the ursa scene in Boast Busters. Twilight broke the freaking ground supporting the weight of that thing. From the looks of it here and in other episodes, levitation seems to link the object to the caster in a direct physical way, so either she has legs of steel, or was also using a spell to prevent her bones from being crushed. Either way, epic.

 

Other favorites, in no particular order:

- Cadence and Shining's changeling launcher spell... particularly the music, and the image of them in a heart shape together. So romantic

- Cadence spreading her wings during This Day Aria

- Twilight's realization of how the elements of harmony work while fighting Nightmare Moon

- Rainbow's Rarity-saving rainboom

- Scootaloo's nice moves at the start of Sleepless in Ponyville

- The rest of Sleepless in Ponyville

- Granny Smith's story in Family Appreciation Day (again, the music gets me)

- Fluttershy's tornado training

I have a couple. One being Rainbow Dash pulling the sonic rainboom off. Also the ponies turning discord into stone. Also the entire canterlot wedding 2 parter was epic

All of the epicest moments in stories for me have never been where characters merely overcame great physical challenges. No, the truly awesome moments are when a character overcomes a pychological barrier. While Fluttershy's physical feat was very small, the mental one that she had to preform was huge. It's been a while but I'm still have to go with Celestia and Discord's verbal sparring. This is probably when the show is at it's most deadly serious and full use is made of it to play up both characters.

Oh, and all the moments where Celestia is a troll (of which there are so many ).

 

The May The Best Pet Win song was pretty epic. Seeing Fluttershy in her element is so cute!

 

In Hurricane Fluttershy, the moment were Fluttershy finally flys in the tornado was so amazing!

 

Flutterrage in The Return of Harmony Part 2 was hilarious with the, "Hey Twilight! What's soaking wet and clueless? Your FACE!"

 

Wow, there are just so many awesome moments! When Rarity stands up for her friends at that Garden Party; whenever Pinkie Pie breaks the 4th wall; when Discord made Fluttershy's house spin (the animators had fun with that scene!); when Chrysalis is revealed; the Windigoes; Derpy having a speaking part; Owlowiscoius (or however you spell it! ) turning dramatically; Discord trolling Celestia in Canterlot Tower; Pinkie Pie gasp; ... I could go on and on!

I'm going to go for something a little more subtle than most here. 

 

Mine's got to be Discorded Twilight reading the Friendship letters from Celestia and regaining her magical mojo and firing up her will to fight. 

 

 

There's nothing more awesome than seeing the hero look utterly beaten and lost, but then something hits them and they regain their fire.  And brilliant move by Celestia, giving wilight exactly the medicine she needed.

Rainbow Dash's Sonic Rainboom was awesome, definitely something to remember in the series and surely an epic moment in MLP, especially whe she saved four lives while doing so xD

When Fluttershy kept her word that she wasn't going to use her Element against Discord and how Discord became saddened by his loss.

 

Twilight Sparkle's resurrection during Discord's triumphant was pretty epic as well.

My most favorite epic moment would have to be the the battle between the ponies and Chrysalis and her changelings in the season 2 finale. When Cadance turned out to be Chrysalis instead of herself, I knew from there that it was going to be a battle I would totally look forward. I'll watch it a lot of times and STILL feel the rush during that moment.

 

Another would be when Fluttershy stood by Discord during "Keep Calm & Flutter On", and Discord became saddened that Fluttershy was her only friend. That literally got me teary-eyed tbh!

The latest one is probably the most epic in my opinion. To reform a god of chaos who's only purpose of living was to spread said chaos is a very big task. Near impossible but they did it, Discord was reformed and is now a much better... whatever he is.

Yeah that was a really good moment, the scene with Twilight turning gray was a pretty depressing one, but that one was pretty awesome, all of the flashbacks running in the background as she reads the letters (And of course her adorable hugging spike )

 

There is quiet alot of epic moments in the show, more then I realized at first actually.

So obviously I love that scene aswell, it is quiet a difficult task to overcome such a deep rooted fear as Fluttershy had.

This is a candidate for third most epic moment for me and I don't think it was mentioned yet.  If it was, it was probably a footnote because I didn't notice an entire post devoted to it.  The best part of Sleepless in Ponyville is when Luna asks Scootaloo if the headless horse is what frightens her the most.  Scootaloo's face falls and before she even speaks, we can see the real fear that's been haunting her all along:  The possibility Rainbow Dash may reject her. 

 

 

When Scootaloo is finally forced to confess her fear to Rainbow Dash, that scene is almost equally as moving.  The animators took painstaking care with Scoots' and RD's body language.  Although I had a few minor nitpicks elsewhere in the episode, Corey Powell instantly became one of my favorite MLP writers.

There were many epic moments in My Little Pony, so it is difficult for me to decide which one I think is 'more epic'.

But I will name my favorites.

 

 

The moment Discord gets hits right in the feels, and fixes the Ponyville flood thanks to Fluttershy.

 

 

 

The fight scene from A Canterlot Wedding.

 

 

 

When Fluttershy overcomes her fears while flying in the tornado in Hurricane Fluttershy.

 

 

 

When Spike admits his love to Rarity as they were plummeting down to Earth, followed by the incredible save by Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy in Secret To My Excess.

Haha, yeah I just had that pointed out via PM, and I came to fix it, guess I was a little late .

 

Sleepless actually made me come to the point of debate of whether I like Sweetiebelle or Scootaloo more.. Its just getting harder and harder for me, . It also made me like Rainbow Dash more, even if she didn't move from my 4th favorite pony, she got alot closer to Pinkie.

 

Also after watching the FIW so much everytime I see that scene I always think of the abridged version XD. Guess thats what I get for watching so much parodies.

 

I also get a voice in my head commentating when I try to watch an episode without any commentary on it after watching a let's watch, its weird at first XD.

 

Anyways, getting off topic, I think Corey Powell is an amazing writer though Although I honestly am not the type of person to really keep up with writers and the such honestly. I hardly can remember the voice actors for the Mane 6. .

Everyone going "Is this the episode with the Smile Song in it?" for about three months. And then it finally appeared in A Friend In Deed, to everyone's joy that it had finally been established with its own episode, scene and context. It felt at least fifty times more epic listening to it for that first, official, time.

Everyone going "Is this the episode with the Smile Song in it?" for about three months. And then it finally appeared in A Friend In Deed, to everyone's joy that it had finally been established with its own episode, scene and context. It felt at least fifty times more epic listening to it for that first, official, time.

Well I unfortunately didn't get to experience the anitipipation because I become a brony alot later, but I do know what you mean as I remember the first time hearing the song I wasn't expecting it, and it was amazing!

 

I listened to the Smile song like a million times by now, So much that its lost some of its magic kinda. I wish I could get back the feeling from the first time I listened though.
