LunaEclipse 101 February 27, 2013 Share February 27, 2013 This is one thing I noticed when I watched the episode that I thought others would address too. But I've actually been waiting and nopony has really said anything about it. And if they did, I haven't found them yet. This is a screenshot of filly Rainbow Dash with Rainbow Dad: My first thought upon seeing this scene was, "Oh! It's Rainbow Dash's parents!" While it's clear that the stallion to the right of RD is probably her dad because of the rainbow mane and tail, the mare on the left has no rainbow mane or tail. However, I noticed that she has the same eyes has Rainbow Dash. Color and lashes. So my first thought was that the producers were introducing us to both of Rainbow Dash's parents. Everyone was just ecstatic with the fact that they saw RD father that I guess her possible mother was overlooked. I waited for a discussion about the mare being RD's possible mother, but I haven't found any discussion about it yet. I know what you may be thinking. Aside from the eyes, Rainbow Dash has no distinct similarities with that mare, so it may not be her mom. It's quickly concluded that the stallion is RD's dad, because when do you ever see a rainbow-colored mane on somepony? You could ask, "Where did Rainbow Dash get her blue coat then?" if you make the argument that RD's other traits must have come from her mother. But if you look at Twilight's parents...hell, if you look at Pinkie Pie's parents too, neither of them share the same color as Pinkie. Same goes for Twilight. So is she Rainbow Dash's mother? Maybe. I guess we can't say for sure, but my first thought was that the mare on the left was suggested to be Rainbow Mom because of her eyes.

I honestly prefer if we only knew about Rainbow's dad, I think it would be interesting to see one of the mane 6 to have a single parent, especially since it's pretty likely that she takes after her father Edited February 27, 2013 by Megas75
Proton 565 March 5, 2013 Share March 5, 2013 I actually liked Rarity's first try at the headress better than the second. Just my opinion And, by the way, RAINBOW DASH HAS A FATHER. It was kinda obvious but SHE HAS A FATHER "Walk always in shadows, so that you will see your foes before they see you."
Jokuc 8,173 March 14, 2013 Share March 14, 2013 Ok so I just watched the episode (yeah I saved the episodes for a few days) and I don't know what to think about it. I did like that it's a double story with the episode 11 but I think the whole story of the episode felt a lot.. I don't know.. It felt like a lot of scenes has been cut away. The thing I disliked the most with this episode is; how they made Pinkie. Back in season 1 Pinkie was actually smart but she was thinking in an unusual way and she was both hyper and a bit crazy. But now it's like she's the idiot that gets a few seconds of screentime every now and then to do something really random and weird just to make the viewers laugh. Oh please, don't let it contunue like this.. Don't change mah pinkie! :c
Wingnut 6,994 April 4, 2013 Share April 4, 2013 I have one more question about the Rainbow Dash flashback. How would Cloudsdale host the Equestria Games in the first place? Would every non-pegasi visitor have to have a spell cast on them? Or could the unicorns on the games committee cast a spell powerful enough to make CD solid for the duration of the games? Hmm, maybe the fact that such extraordinary measures needed to be taken led to the decision to award the games to Fillydelphia instead. I still think the announcement is funny because the real life Philadelphia has too low of a profile on the international stage to ever win a bid for the Olympics. Righteous Fury 344 April 5, 2013 Share April 5, 2013 I didn't like this episode. It's too similar to Sidekicks, but Sidekicks worked because Spike and the CMC are well-suited for slapstick/sitcomy humour. The Mane 6 aren't. Most of the jokes weren't funny, and the plot required extensive use of a shoehorn. The Mane 6 don't even REACT to the 'inspector's' weird behaviour? The 'inspector' suddenly flips out due to claustrophobia? Shining Armor shows up in the middle for no reason to fix everything? The mistaken identity thing was cute, but went on for far too long. It felt like each character was flat. Pinkie's so random, Rarity's a drama queen, Rainbow Dash does some speedy race thing. I did like the 'parallel episodes' thing, and Twilight's deep breathing and decidedly NOT freaking out was good, shows that she's learned from Lesson Zero and other freakout episodes. Vexxy 134 April 5, 2013 Share April 5, 2013 At the beginning I thought that it was just a reference to the last episode's happenings, so I was REALLY surprised when I found out they were happening at the same time. Is it bad I found that more shocking than the twist in Fight Club? xD Bubblegum Roxx
MahLazah 0 April 24, 2013 Share April 24, 2013 welllll..... i dent rely like this one... it was ok... but not all that great... it just sems like almost every cartoon/show does this... it was ok... hay look! a PIE! -MahLazah
Starlight Song 43 April 27, 2013 Share April 27, 2013 As I said in the last episode thread, these two episodes need to be switched in order. Everyone would be like "What the heck, why is Spike randomly there..." It would be epic. 2 Profile pic and signature by: darryshan
Righteous Fury 344 April 27, 2013 Share April 27, 2013 this was a pretty bad episode IMO it just didn't have any heart to it, no passion Pinkie does something random, Rarity goes into FASHIONISTA mode, Twilight has a panic attack, Rainbow tackles someone, yada yada yada. Every character was at their worst, a caricature of themselves. That's happened to all the major characters at various points, but usually because they're focusing on someone else's character development. There's never been an episode where ALL the characters are this flat and uninteresting. The fake inspector isn't funny, likable, or interesting at all, which is really bad seeing how much screen time she has. As I said in the last episode thread, these two episodes need to be switched in order. Everyone would be like "What the heck, why is Spike randomly there..." It would be epic. That would be great, but would confuse the younger audience. The whole 'this is happening at the same time' concept is difficult enough to swallow. the one really good part of this episode was how Twilight's 'if he's staying calm and collected' line takes on the extra significance - it was well done how the lessons learned intertwined. Starlight Song 43 April 29, 2013 Share April 29, 2013 the one really good part of this episode was how Twilight's 'if he's staying calm and collected' line takes on the extra significance - it was well done how the lessons learned intertwined. I like the fact that the show is going "Twilight already learned to stay calm twice, lets let it actually show" I think it's good how they let her finally move on especially since she becomes an alicorn not soon after and they failed to do this with Fluttershy. Paianis 489 April 29, 2013 Share April 29, 2013 Not a great episode, but its the little things that make us think about the characters not just as they were then, but how they had matured over the course of the generation. I mean, I haven't forgotten the RD quote: "She's luring you into a false sense of confidence" (was she saying this to Fluttershy? Can't remember). While the plot may have not been conveyed as well as it could have, mainly because it dragged on too long, I liked how it felt like a secondary finale to everything they had learnt since Twilight arrived in Ponyville, which was then celebrated in MMC. So as an episode on its own, it kinda sucked. But as part of the entire show, its kinda fitting. 1 Vimeo

DuskySHARK 6 May 8, 2013 Share May 8, 2013 most disappointing episode.(not worst just disappointing) this episode could have been brilliant but they did it badly so they should have got rid of this episode and had a two part final.
Brainstorm 4,111 June 2, 2013 Share June 2, 2013 (edited) I like Ms. Peachbottom in this episode, I hope that in Season 4 she'll vist Ponyville and have as much fun as she did in the Crystal Empire. Edited June 2, 2013 by Brainstorm
BronyMan 3 June 3, 2013 Share June 3, 2013 Wait... No Rarity episode in the season?!?! What in the equestria are Hasbro thinking?!?! Is it because of too much hate on rarity!?! I mean now we have to wait until 2014 for s4 and get a Rarity episode but Why not in s3?????!? Jack Spades 162 June 6, 2013 Share June 6, 2013 The moment Pinkie said "Cinnamon bun?". My reaction was "Darn you Pinkie, not now! Can't you see that this is serious?" Still funny. And I forgave her. WishingtotheStars 15 June 7, 2013 Share June 7, 2013 I thought this episode was put together pretty good. I wasn't impressed though that we didn't actually get to see the games. Maybe they will show that in season 4?

Homura Akemi 974 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 (edited) This is my least favourite episode. It isn't just only in season 3, but in Friendship is Magic alone. Yes, I really think this episode was worse than Mare-Do-Well or any of the infamous Spike episodes. I did not enjoy this episode hardly at all. This is the only episode I literally stopped watching at had to go back to later. I liked how it was a side story to Sidekicks, but that's really about it. Hardly anything of importance happened. It was very forgetable and boring. Rating: 3/10 Edited July 9, 2013 by Nagisa Misumi
MiO 0 July 10, 2013 Share July 10, 2013 Tbh I was expecting another sonic rainboom, but it ended up more like an animated sitcom. Seems like the show has slowly moved from a world of flying chariots, flaming scrolls, amazing pegasus feats of strength, and earth ponies with superpony senses of the simple things in life to another show where people make the episodes just to get paid. The whole fantasy world aspect of the show has been extremely suppressed and it makes my blood boil. It's part of why I've been acting like a monkey on youtube all summer. I'm highly cynical about season 4 after watching the decline. Yes, I'm a cynic, yes, I have a neckbeard, and yes, I live in my mother's attic. Dark Horn 430 July 10, 2013 Share July 10, 2013 Eh, not one of the best episodes, but still amusing to watch, and, hey. It's My Little Pony. It's funny, it's dramatic, and it's ponyish. How about dressing in clown garb and flipper feet? Pinkie has always been the random comedy. As for the episode...Eh, it wasn't amazing but I enjoyed it. Any excuse for Cadence is good. Though I almost deleted it from my DVR without watching because I thought it was a duplicate recording of Just For Sidekicks...
