Bergil 8 June 13, 2013 Share June 13, 2013 For me, it was the worst episode of all of them. Not so bothered about Twilight becoming becoming an alicorn, but purely because the episode was replaying clips from previous shows. I know alot of cartoons end up having an episode like that, but I can't stands 'em!
melodymare 6 June 13, 2013 Share June 13, 2013 Ok, so after i watched this episode i cryed, yes i cryed. Why? Because it was so beautiful, i cant wait for season four now. I think it was also cool that twilight casted that spell (even though it was bad....) but it was intreasting how we got to see the main six (except twilight) find there special talents again. Best Pony 83 June 19, 2013 Share June 19, 2013 It has been 4 months since Magical Mystery Cure aired and the last pony episode aired. I still say its beautiful but unfortunate that it sounded rushed. My feelings are that Season 4 episode 1 continues from the Season 3 ending and gives us a full story.
BaDasBrOnY 1 June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 I was hoping for a part two for this epic change, like I know it had to be 13 episodes ,but the spike episode was not needed and there for they could have make a part two to this.
BabsSeed 8 June 28, 2013 Share June 28, 2013 I think this episode just was too packed for one episode. They basically got all their cutie marks back in around five minutes, but I really liked this episode.

Dark Horn 430 July 3, 2013 Share July 3, 2013 I'm with you, Samurott. Rainbow Dash about to be devoured by hungry woodland animals was hilarious. We also got to see some of my favorite MLP woodland critter, the bear. Dark Horn 430 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 @Sun: No, it just wouldn't be the same. Princess... Applejack... doesn't sound quite right. Besides, if there were suddenly six alicorn princesses running around, it would be extremely cheesy. It would be insanity. 1 "The most horrible kind of ignorance is to have an opinion on an experience that you have never experienced.""Get off your high horse and give her a hug." Amara_Vertas 0 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 This episode was very, very awesome. Like a whole bunch of people out there, I'd wondered about Twilight and what the writers were up to with the element of harmony crown thingy and the crazy good magical powers. Got the answer, and I'm pretty happy. It would have been wonderful if they'd had more time through the season to build drama, lots and lots of drama leading up to the change, but hey it worked. Worked so well! I can't wait until next season and see how Twilight adjusts. She seems like a creature of habit and it'd be fun watching her work princess-hood into her schedule and friendships. Certainly, although back in early 2012 people were laughing about the insanity and cheesiness that would ensue if the writers doubled the number of Alicorns. So, 6? Not unthinkable. Hell, let's do 8! Or more! #SOCKS
Homura Akemi 974 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 (edited) It feels like just yesterday this episode aired, now it has been almost 5 months. It's even been almost half a year since we learned about Twilight's transformation. Time truly flies. It was definitely not the best episode of the show, nor was it the worst. It was somewhat somewhere between decent and okay. I like alicorn Twilight, but the episode took so much warming up to get used to. Saddle ~ Arabia 118 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 I don't really approve or like this episode as I don't support Alicorn Twilight. I know the real reason why she was an alicorn so soon and I accept that reason. But it just doesn't seem all that right. Her wings don't suit her at all considering the fact she's the element of magic. Thank you ever so kindly Gone ϟ Airbourne for making my signature. I know alot of cartoons end up having an episode like that, but I can't stands 'em! Really? Because it was very brief, not really enough to be called a clip show or anything. And it was used for emotion and nostalgia, not like "Oh, we ran out of time and energy, so here's some clips from previous episodes", which is how clip shows work. I love you. Almost haunting. No, it wasn't even a horrible episode. It was just overly- eh.. I don't know. It made me feel weird. I couldn't really tell what it was. I didn't want to think about or see anything related to the show after watching it for like 3 days. Maybe its a horrible timed episode. All I know is that I don't want to be confronted with anything that abrupt EVER again. I still can't get over that. So strange. Xanatos 162 July 10, 2013 Share July 10, 2013 It would have been better if they ALL got to be the princesses. Don't you think? Honestly, that sounds like a really terrible fanfiction...Then again, Twilight becoming an alicorn already sounds like a bad fanfiction. I'm surprised they pulled it off in a way that wasn't awful. Zoraxe 546 July 11, 2013 Share July 11, 2013 This is my opinion on Magical Mystery Cure. The premise of the story for these past 3 seasons has been Celestia sending Twilight to Ponyville to learn friendship. So the revelation in this episode that Celestia has been secretly grooming Twilight to become a princess means that there has been an ulterior motive behind Celestia's relationship with Twilight this entire time. But that wouldn't be bad if Celestia had given Twilight free will over weather or not she'd become an Alicorn, but she didn't. The episode began with Celestia sending Twilight an unfinished spell, knowing Twilight would try to use it and create a problem, causing her to fix the problem and thus turn her into an Alicorn.Wow, what a terrible person Celestia must be according to this episode, thats really manipulative and dishonest. The finale of the story arc that has been in place since episode 1 season 1, was that Twilight was tricked into being a princess, that's it, thats the reason for all those friendship lessons, so Twilight can be coerced into being an Alicorn because Celestia is a puppet master. What terrible story telling since Celestia isn't supposed to be a villain. This is worse than Chrysalis's plan making no sense in the Royal Wedding, at least those episodes were fun. This episode is like if Twilight became an Alicorn Princess as a result of the events in 'Myserious Mare do Well'. Worst episode of MLP, period. All the others were good, or at least funny. Zoraxe 546 July 11, 2013 Share July 11, 2013 (edited) She was never asked, Celestia sent her an unfinished spell knowing what would happen. This is nothing to do with how Twilight reacted (she never had a choice anyways) but the methods of witch Celestia operated. She pulled a batman gambit on Twilight, that is not OK. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BatmanGambit Celestia is dishonest, a big part of her relationship of Twilight was a lie. You know what? I never thought about that but you're right. I also feel like Twilight was sort of forced into the position, given that Celestia never actually considered that she might not want to become an Alicorn/royalty ect. When did Celestia ever say : "It's your choice?"
Lateon 589 July 11, 2013 Share July 11, 2013 (edited) When did Celestia ever say : "It's your choice?" I've been thinking about this recently, and I agree that Celestia...I don't know, made a misplay here. I don't think there was anything underhoofed about the whole thing, but her actions sort of went in the face of what Twilight had just discovered not 5 minutes before. In the first bit of the episode, we find out that that the concept of destiny, especially as determined by a cutie mark, means nothing. The pony makes the cutie mark, not the other way around. That's why the afflicted members of the Mane 6 were so miserable with their new cutie marks - they weren't doing what they knew and loved, despite them doing "what their cutie marks were telling" them to do. So we get all of that fixed up fine and dandy. But then, Celestia comes in and is all like "I've been watching you for a while now. I've been shaping you this whole time, ever since you got that cutie mark of yours, for princesshood, and now you've shown me that you're ready that you can do it. So here we go, balls deep into a squealing hog, ready or not!" Excuse me, what? Where did the lesson I just learned go? Out into the astral plane? Killed secretly by Discord (maybe that's why he was brought back ). When did Twilight ever have a chance to say "No?" Not since she was a filly, apparently. I've also heard word that Twilight's cutie mark actually changed as a response to becoming an alicorn. Now, if that isn't cutie-mark-destiny-predetermination, I don't know what is. I don't think there's anything shady about Celestia's character as a result of this episode. I just think there were some discrepancies in it that, as I've stated before, can leave one...confused. Like not even the writers knew how to handle the situation. They did the best they could, but closer analysis reveals some weird stuff. Well, if that's your reason for disliking this episode, you must really have hated the pilot too, right? At the end of the pilot, Celestia flat out admits that she knew about Nightmare Moon's return all along and knew that Twilight and her friends could defeat her and return her to being Princess Luna. She didn't make clear the situation or give Twilight a choice in that either. Honestly, it's a little late to start accusing Celestia of being dishonest now.
