The Dumb Things We Believed As Children!

- I believed there were tigers in our stomachs, that's why they growled. (3-5 years old)

- I believed any time before the 60's was black & white. Not TV, I mean real life. xD (2-4 years old)

- I thought my parents were invincible, and they couldn't die. (2-6 years old)

- I believed the world was flat. (2-9 years old)

- I thought cars were big robots. (Sorta like transformers.) (3-5 years old)

- I believed that Lunar was the Sun, just not as bright. (3-8 years old)

I used to think things I saw in films happened in reality. (It was really bad when I started watching Jurassic Park). This also made movies horrifying to me if anyone died...I was 5 at the time. now that I think of it, why was I watching such violent movies at that age? O.o

 

I thought that the prison in Harry Potter (Azkaban) was a real place (I confused it with Alcatraz). That one made me look really foolish in class xD.

 

I also used to believe that you could go anywhere in the world by digging a hole straight through the earth.

When I was a kid... I believed that.... ugg my tub drain.. could eat me... yeah its silly but.. oh well, top of all that... when it rained lol I was thinking it was "God" crying..

Well I used to believe that if someone worked a night shift, they were called nocturnal people. Also sometimes my dad would drive wit hout his hands on the steering wheel and he'd use his knees so I would think the car would be on auto pilot.

I was in some day care about ten years ago, playing my Gameboy by myself. A kid walked up to me and told me that if I played video games too much, I would enter a state where I could never stop, and I would never be able to sleep again, and I believed it. I pretty much didn't play more than twenty minutes of video games at a time after that, until I realized it was a lie. 

 

Also, when I was a kid, I thought that rain was God crying. Even though I have never believed in a God in the first place... I was a weird kid.

3. I believed hamburgers were American food. (They're German)

Though I still believed in the thief fairy, a fairy that steals things we need.

So when I was a kid, I was told by some other kid that cactuses had the ability to shoot their spines out at things. And since I was already terrified of sharp, pointy objects, I totally believed it and avoided cactuses like the plague. 

 

 

And my sister thought that all teenagers had green hair, and it made her not want to become a teenager. XD

I used to stay up at night staring at the fan over my bed because I insulted it once (called it stupid because I turned it on during the winter and it gave me a cold), and I thought it was just waiting for me to let down my guard before taking its revenge. I spent many a restless night watching and apologizing to that fan.

 

At some point I decided that God's a chair, since a chair is neither a he or a she (in English, at least) and a chair's just there to help you out. You can't assign any human traits to a chair because it's a chair, so you won't offend anyone. I like the idea.

• I always thought diesel was pronounced die-sel.
• I thought the pre-1950s was in black in white like the old movies
• I believed that hitting someone when they're cross eyed will permanently make their eyes cross eyed
