An episode about luna and celestia... Flashback time!

So, basically, Luna is my favorite character by far, but she doesn't get enough screen time, and we don't know much of her, or her sisters backstory!

 

I would love to see an episode dedicated solely to the worlds best sisters, that explains their past (How did they become alicorns, or were they born that way? How did they become princesses? Etc!) and also gets deeper into their sisterly relationship with eachother.

 

Is there still any resentment? Does Celestia fully trust her sister after what happened? Does Luna still feel bad, and is it affecting her?

 

C'mon, writers, we need to know these things, and we don't!

 

And It's bugging me.

 

Anyone else think we need this episode?

I remember not too long ago (New York Comic Con, I believe) that I think someone said that at one point there was going to be a flashback episode to Nightmare Moon.

Celestia is in deserate need of some character depth.

I have wanted an episode about this since the start, though I don't think we will ever get it, because they're already had an episode about sisters, and because there's just so much fanon about it, there's probably going to be a lot of butthurt people. 

 

 

Still, it would be awesome to see. and I still hope for it.

Yes! One episode in present day where they talk about Nightmare Moon and how Luna feels about it now (not necessarily a whole dedicated episode... just a scene would do), one episode explaining their origin/childhood, and a movie detailing the events of Discord from 1000 years ago. Then the events of Nightmare Moon could be covered in a 2 part season 4 finale idea I posted over in this thread, where Celestia has Twilight time travel to 1000 years ago to save Luna before she had to be banished (but knowing that things would get out of hand and she'd have to be banished anyway).

 

There's also Sombra in there somewhere, but it looked like he got whipped pretty quick, so that might not need any more detail... unless he was involved in Luna's corruption.

 

Also, that picture is ADORABLE

oh my god yes!!!! i would absolutely LOVE to have an episode about Celestia's and Luna's backstory and how they feel now about the whole Nightmare Moon thing and being banished to the moon for a thousand years, there has got to be some kind of hard feelings about it still, so it'd be very interesting.

There might probably be an episode regarding Luna and Celestia's backstory probably going through their childhood to now. Like, when they were fillies, to the present as god-like alicorns. That would be so awesome!

This has been one of my biggest wishes for a long time. It has the opportunity to develop both of the Royal Sisters, flush out Equestria and its history, possibly give insight into Sombra and Luna's corruption and maybe even give us more of Discord. Seems like an idea with massive potential to me.

I agree this could be an epic and amazing episode to have a flashback to how Celestia was forced to banish her own sister. I'm assuming that Luna and her (and Luna and Twi)  are still on good terms with the Twi' coronation. If they can do an episode on this in episode 4 (maybe even a Discord cameo) it would be amazing.

I have wanted an episode like this do a while now.

Both of those characters need more depth. Also I feel as thought there may have been something else that helped turned her into Nightmare Moon. For some reason I feel as though some outside force aided Luna in becoming the Villan she was.
