 I'm rather new to the MLP fandom so I don't have much art yet, but the ones I do have are of my OC Lunar Fields. Here he is~! 

 

 

I want to practice drawing other ponies, so if any other pony wants to do an art trade, just ask~!

That's not on purpose actually. ^^; I'm just still trying to learn how to draw in the G4 style. For some reason that style is harder for me, which is why I wanted practice. But thank you very much for the compliment~!

Well, its not that actually. I got my pony all done n stuff, but I have a complication with the right side of her hair.

Its styled a whole lot different from the left side, considering it hides her eye at a good enough angle. Looking straightforward though you can easily see both eyes.

Her hair is also quite messy in a way too, never really combed at all

Do you mean you need help drawing her hair? Like, it's not coming out the way you want it to? I think her hair looks fine the way it is  in the picture. It probably should look the same way if she was facing the other way and fall in between her eyes from the front view. What did you have in mind for her hair to look like on the other side?

Well, yes actually.

Sorry if this seems quite complicated. I have a tendancy to do that sometimes.

The front part of her hair isnt covering her eye. Its just sticking frontward to where at a certian angle you cant see it. Nothing I didnt like about the back hair, so you dont have to worry about that.

Two things about Lunar: You seem to have a snub nose for a stallion. Is that how I should draw you?

And also, what's that triangle thing on your head?

Looks pretty cool! I like the color scheme of him! He is in a bit of G3 style I guess, and his hairstyle is a more different one I guess them I'm use to seeing, but overall it looks pretty good .

And that triangle thing is just a non-functional horn. He has another one on the other side of his hair. I made him before I watched the show and just threw that on him because I liked it. I still consider him a pegasus since the horns aren't a unicorn horn, but I have no idea how to explain why they're there.

Thank you~! The style isn't on purpose, I'm just still learning how to draw G4 style. And his hair was from the Pony Creator. I figured since it was in there it was okay for a pony hair style. ^^;

Your art here does look alot like MLP Generation 3, but overall it looks amazing. I heard about you having problems drawing in the earlier comments, and I wanted to ask you: Since I can draw G4 ponies pretty well, do you want me to re-draw a picture from your topic?

Anyways, your art is absolutley fabulous. (But, in the last picture, his wing looks like it's holding something invisible like a cup or something like a cylinder) Although, his personality honestly doesn't match his name. I'm guessing his personality is planting/flowers, and his name makes him sound like a pony who studies the moon or something. A name that would fit him would probably be something like Flower Power, Green Thumb, or something like that. But, the pictures overall are great. Keep it up!

 

Thank you very much~! I had no idea what a G3 pony was until after I posted this on dA, let alone knew I was drawing in that style. ^^; Is the art trade picture closer to G4 style? I'd love it very much if you'd be nice enough to do that for me~!   I can do something for you too in return! 

 

As for the wing part, I don't think I understand. Is his wing folded strangely? It probably might be, since that was my first pony picture (I posted them in backwards order for some reason) and I didn't know what I was doing. How should I fix it?

 

You're right about his personality~.  He takes care of a field of those blue flowers he's watering in the second picture. The flowers are special ones that grow by moonlight, so he was named after the field he cares for. I probably shouldn't have a name that needs so much explaining, but that one stuck in my mind first. I kind of like it, but if it's not a good name...     

 

As for those names you suggested Flower Power sounds like a really bright name, for somepony who has a personality like Raindow Dash's or Apple Jack's. Lunar is closer in personality to Fluttershy so that name wouldn't suit him much. And Green Thumb doesn't fit his design, to me. I'd picture him needing a literal green thumb (or hoof in this case) for that to fit, for some reason. He's a bit too blue for that name. (I'm really sorry if those names were off the top of your head and I'm over analyzing things. I probably am. ) But thank you for the suggestions~!

You're Welcome G3 ponies are just ponies that are from the last generation. Yes, the art trade was infact more like G4 style more. You can tell the difference of G3 and G4 ponies from this: (G3 is green, G4 is red, and both is purple)

A little chubbier or bigger than the G4 style.

The muzzle has a bit more detail than G4 style.

There is only one gender: female.

G3 races are only unicorns and normal ponies: even the princesses are unicorns.

There are fairy ponies.

There are no monsters, just ponies.

G3 has simple, girly problems, like "Oh no i forgot to bring my friend a gift!", while G4 has problems like "Oh no a dragon is attacking town!"

G3 has more girlier voices.

Both generations were meant for little girls.

Both Generations have some characters used in both.

G4 has monsters.

G4 has pegasi and alicorns.

G4 has mytholigical monsters, like a manticore, changeling, or hydra.

G4 has male characters.

G4 is more complicated, like Twilight  explaining her problems instead of in G3 when a pony says things that only little girls can understand.

There are no fairy ponies.

G4 ponies have less detail and looks more like a cartoon.

G4 has better animation, quality, voices, plots( NOT PONY BUTTS), and backstories.

G4 ponies are a bit more skinnier than G3 ponies.

 

When I say the wing problem, I mean like it's curved in a way that makes it look like it's holding something, when normal G4 wings looks flat, like this: wing 1.png or wing2.png . You can fix is by watching the show more and paying more attention to the wings, or just copy+paste wings from the show.

 

And it's okay, I don't mind if you don't use the names, I was just suggesting names to fit his personality. (and when I say Green Thumb, It just fits his personality, like names like Derpy or Rarity)

I didn't really notice that about the wings until I saw the Sonic Rainboom episode (that's the one I'm on). Now that I'm paying attention I see that. Thank you for the visuals though! I'll use them as a reference.

Oh, right. I forgot XD

I want a picture of FireBlaze, my OC. I want her in her alicorn form.

I want her sitting in her throne, having eyes like this: Angry Eyes.png

Her hair is made of fire (along with her body), so make it to where it looks like fire, so

I want her to look more fiery - considering you can make HD and shading.

I can do that!   Should she be in some type of fire-y version of Celestia's castle? Unless you want the throne to be in her castle or just floating in space.  

I'm not the best at detailing fire but I'll try my best! What's HD? I'm assuming that's high definition, but I've never heard that applied to art. ^^;

You've got potential. I don't even really mind that your art has a bit more of a G3 feel than most art you see around here, including mine. It gives it character.

 

I suppose I can be useful. Would you draw my OC Encore for me? I'd be happy to do an art swap for it, but it may while before I can start your vector. I have a commission I need to finish first, and a paper I'm supposed to write.

Here's a reference. Encore's highly musically inclined, and his magic is mostly sound-based. He likes to think of himself as upper class, rather pompous and self-important in his own way. Not unkind, but rather high-minded. I guess you could compare him to Fancy Pants, and since he's entirely self-made, he can still relate with the less fortunate, the commoners. And he can never get his mane or tail to lie flat. He's metro in that regard, highly self-conscious; he often wears a hat to hide the mane that refuses to be tidy.

 

But, should you choose to draw Encore, it's more important for you to have fun with it. I love to see different interpretations of the same character.

Yes! When I say HD, i mean that you can do mixey colors like you did on Lunar Fields tail. And yes, her castle is a fiery version of Celestia's castle. I use MS paint, and there is no tool to make it look like that. Her eyes are blank, by the way. Her throne is in the middle of the castle with a carpet leading up to it, something like this:

The guards aren't necessary, but if you want to add them, I would be pleased.

For the room, I'd say do this: Make the water in that picture lava, and make everything else look, you know, like, hell almost. DON'T PUT EVIL THINGS IN IT! I was just giving you an idea!

 

Alrighty then~! The "mix-y" colors thing is a gradient, and, no, you can't do that on Paint. Why don't you try a better program? GIMP is a good free one that can do gradients. 

 

I can do that. I'll put the guards too. Do the guards have invisible wings? Is there any particular reason why you can't see them? 

 

So for the castle scene, you want it from the exact angle? Or can I change the angle a little? And I got it! No evil things! Just fire and burning, right?

Shouldn't take me a year. 

 

Well, I don't suppose... Hm. I dunno. Nature may not really be his strong point, but I could see him in a tree in the woods looking for inspiration from nature, perhaps tooting away a sweet melody on his beautifully carved wooden flute. 

 

He can play a variety of instruments. He's most skilled in brass instruments like the tuba or french horn, but he's proficient in piano and flute. He always carries the same beautifully carved wooden flute around with him, which was a gift from somepony important to him in his youth.

 

(Wooden flute. Hint, hint. Again, the design is up to you.)

 

He prefers fedoras or flat caps, usually in colors that match or compliment his mane. But he doesn't have to be wearing a hat for the sake of this picture if you don't want him to.
