First reactions to Discord

First saw Discord on a teaser clip on My Little Brony. A few days earlier Equestria Daily posted a picture of what they might think Discord looked like, a huge looming alicorn with red eyes and Nightmare Moon like mane that was gray. I felt intimidated by that.

 

I watched the clip, anticipating Discords appearance aaaaaaaaand...

 

"Wtf?"

 

Was honestly my first reaction, mainly because i couldnt pinpoint what it was, since i was used to just seeing ponies etc in the MLP universe. BUt after that initial confusion, Discord quickly became on of my favourite villains ever, even surpassing Gaston (if you know who that is, then you're awesome)

This character look quite interesting, then after a long search in My little pony wiki, Oh then i will see the episodes and then i see discord is one of the most interesting charaters, he is one of the like 5 top of my favorites character (that i didn't made)

The first thing I thought was that he reminded me of Reaver a little bit (how he trolls) haha Then I thought that he was as awesome as Reaver to hahaha I love his Style, Humor and how just fun and awesome he is haha

I first saw Discord when I wasn't a brony. I thought he was some sort of weird ally character that was in a few episodes. One who never talks about things directly and always speaks in riddles.

 

Then I became a fan of the show and reached Return of Harmony. Then my thoughts changed to "Oh, this guy's a villain! How well of a villain, though?" Then after the episode, I said, "Wow! A villain that achieved more in 40 minutes than what most antagonists do in their lifetimes? We got ourselves a winner."

When I first heard about him I thought "*yawn* an allegorical villian? Give me a break." After learning more about him I created a more neutral impression. Then watching the actual episodes, I thought he didn't go far enough because he is obviously one of the most powerful beings on the show, but of course, he's chaotic (though strangely rational at the same time). Also, I thought he could have been a lot goofier and more visibly crazy to actually be compelling for me. His action and tone of voice turned out to be anti-climatic from my point of view.

 

Though I'm not fond of "obviously evil" villains anyway. I prefer antagonists to be more ambiguous in their moral orientation, and Discord didn't cut it.

My first thought was, no joke, - "I bet my little brother will like this character!". I was somewhat true, he has nothing against him xD

I thought at first "Woah thats freaky" but then started to guess what all his body parts were...Though i think Discord is a pretty awesome character, with his awesome chaos

Indeed Discord was absolutely unexpected. Seriously! I mean, I hadn't watched Startrek, so any references to Q was off (nor did I knew who John de Lancie was at that moment). Then, Discord appeared. My first reaction was "Alright...who's this guy?", and throughout the episode all he made me do was laugh and "UH OH" all the episode. Shuffling on Twilight's head IN the glass panel? Drinking the GLASS instead of the chocolate? Explosive chocolate? Interesting way to turn his enemies against each other? Playfully evil? Only lost because he was PLAYING with his enemies? Chocolate rain? (and not because of the meme or whatever. Didn't even know there was a meme of that). Cotton candy clouds? Actual great evil laugh whose only great contender was that of Nightmare Moon, which TOTALLY sounded like Maleficient, one of the villains with the best evil laugh ever? Freaking god of chaos that not even Celestia felt confident against?...ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? How can I not love a guy like that!? In short I absolutely adore Discord, and he caused me a very good "Great villain" from the start. Whatever else that might have happened only helped me confirm such thoughts.
