It's really the only song I like in the game, and it's an amazing song to boot. The rest of the OST was metal influenced, besides the editor tracks (which were cool, I guess).

Rock/Metal soundtracks are awesome at first, but they very quickly become really boring...

Especially after the hundredth time you go to the title screen.

Haven't listened to any of the editor tracks properly. They were always too quiet, and I couldn't be bothered to turn the TV up.

 

I was actually pretty good at Trials HD, I remember making 120th place out of hundreds of thousands of time trial records on one track.

I think the highest I've ever placed on a leaderboard was on Blur.

I managed to come 10th in the world on one of the tracks, and I wasn't even trying.

The editor tracks were very easy going classically inspired tracks. Which was weird, considering the rest of the soundtrack and the explosion fueled theme of the game.

It updates relatively slowly, yes. I'll check in, see the 5 recent viewers and mark the view count, then come back later, see a new person has checked, yet the counter did not go up.

Takes a lot of patience to get to 120 out of tons.

 

Takes a ton of luck to get any good position on a Blur leaderboard, but still requires a ton of skill, especially on the hard setting.

Hardly anyone plays Blur on the hard difficulty, and most that do don't drive very well, so my position is probably about 20% luck.

Artists get less than nothing from record sales. o/

depends on where you buy them from. iTunes is basically the epitome of screwing artists all over their ass from their profits, though i find iTunes bloated and unnecessary to use. the most music i've bought comes from different Bandcamp pages, which gives about 75% profit to the artists directly when you buy from there (the rest is for site maintenance and the like).

 

now as for the real reason why i asked that question is because, well, i spend a hell of a lot of money on music, and i wondered if it's a good thing to even do that or not?

well, the chatroom has developed a nasty atmosphere inside it as time went by. like the Skype chatroom is now. group-chats seem like they're doomed to fall. meanwhile, this thread isn't exactly "bringing the place down" as that chatroom was. a lot of people got snobby and only started to use the chatroom and not the forums, which defeated the purpose of being on, you know, a forum?

at this point? i'd guess it's more or less the lair of a pack of hellhounds that has been spoiled with too much domestic meat and will jump on anything that enters there.

 

it was good at some point, but eventually it just became far too much distressing shit in there that it wasn't worth remaining there any longer.
