in case anyone wonders, i wanted to test how well the computer could handle Steam. surprisingly fairly well! i installed Worms Reloaded i had received as a gift around Christmas last year. it was pretty fun, but i feel it suffers from what Worms 2D games usually do, most notably the very flat campaign. if there's anything the Worms 3D games did right, it was the campaign, which has a lot of substance to it. also, they changed the physics in the game wtf bouncy grenades. the AI is also as annoying as ever, and stupid in some cases. which is why i'm sort of looking forwards towards Worms Revolution, which seems like a perfect blend between the character of the 3D games and the control of the 2D ones.

i also played Serious Sam The First Encounter HD and it looked rather beautiful. i had to turn down the graphics settings a bit so i could run the game, but the little i was able to play on high settings was so bloody beautiful.

i might play Black Mesa later today.

I don't remember Worms 3D having a very deep campaign, but it was fun regardless. I'll always have a soft spot for Armageddon and WWP, though...

I would imagine the single-player aspect of all the games was always put on the back burner in favor of the multiplayer aspect as well.

Worms 3D was kind of a "things-to-come" preview, which was later expanded upon in Worms 4 Mayhem, when the campaign got a LOT more soul and depth in it, if not for the fact that the Worms actually spoke, there was a storyline going on, and it felt like you were progressing forward instead of doing mission after mission.

Armageddon and WP has a terrific balance system, and it's very easy to control. Reloaded kind of falls back on that (what do you mean you can't attack with the left mouse button?!), and the physics system is a bit of a love-hate thing. however, it looks very pretty, it certainly plays well, and the soundtrack is awesome as well (but why isn't it louder for?!!).

i guess that's why i found the Worms games as fun, but lacking in something (i never played multiplayer outside from the occasional match with my brother...)

Never played the 4th one... I kinda want to go get it now.

The Armageddon and WP OSTs are like, burned into my head. I played those games so much when I was little...

MP on 3D was fun. I never played the PC games' multiplayer much, if at all.
