so this was apparently voted the best joke ever told in the history of everything, like the world's funniest joke, period.

 

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator says "Calm down. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence, then a gun shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says "OK, now what?"

 

does it really deserve that title?

Well, it made me chuckle, but that's about it. I don't think I'd call if the funniest joke ever.

I agree; for me, the funniest joke (and I mean one that had me laughing, unable to stop) was a particular yomama joke I once heard

It's a good joke.

I've heard better; it'd probably be better if it was told by a comedian in real life, because they know how to deliver an *excessive rambling*.

I don't really see this joke being about timing; except maybe if you leave a quiet moment and then imitate a shotgun blast; although I don't know if this will improve anything
