Because of the incredibly high ratio of female to male characters, I came to the conclusion that the ponies of Equestria must reproduce asexually.

With that, there isn't a true need for males in the pony society, and being born male could be considered a genetic defect in a way.

believe me, I overthink things to much, but with this show, hmmm nah...at least that what Lauren Faust alway said, but to give you some feedback, I don't think so, I think there are more males than you think but they don't have any kind of screen time.
