Nope. I don't have any avatars like that.

I do roleplay. But not like this.... This is a tad annoying. Er, rather unsophisticated. Somewhat unpleasant. Roleplays belong in their own section.

I still wouldn't consider any of that a roleplay or roleplaying. As you said its rather unsophisticated and isn't the level of a real one.

Meh, Idk.

Oh and ps. Done.

While I haven't read Lovecraft, I don't think the phrase is unfitting (maybe I SHOULD read from him...). Also, if I ever DO roleplay, I'll first ask around how to make it right instead of just taking a leap of faith . Trust me, I won't dare to insult roleplayers like that .

Would you like me to teach you? The people who wanted me to teach them never followed up on it. You like reading and writing, so I think it might be up your alley.

Okay, I can understand that. But what exactly do YOU classify as a roleplay? Whether it is bad or good?

*slaps a 400 page book in front of you*

Dungeons and Dragons 2nd edition rulebook and addendums plus errata.

That's a good place to start.

There is a difference between hard roleplay and soft roleplay.

Draconicus in his stupidity has provided us an example of the soft variety.

It has no endpoint, no logical conclusion, no guiding personality and no rules associated with it.

You just write stupid shit into a forum post how you are doing this or that and more often than not, declaring how OP the OC is.

Hard roleplay has an endpoint, a logical conclusion, dungeon master and rules.

Hard roleplay has a purpose and enforces staying in-role, set players, has rules of conduct, guidelines on appropriate actions, secular place to do it cause it IS in-depth and irrelevant to those not involved and all this other great stuff that makes it WORTH having a roleplay instead of making shitty material.

What's with the Lovecraft?

People who do shitty roleplays on chat thread annoy me, you have a whole sub-forum for that.

Nevertheless the fact that I'm somehow supposed to be instantly part of it because these personae have a slipping grasp on reality and horrible manners.

If I would want roleplay, I would go to roleplay sub-forum.

And fifteen-sixteen year olds pasting their OP OC's into some pastel coloured trance state simulation with sexual undertones is not roleplaying anyway, IMO.

19, common sense initiative, and underpowered boring characters. That's my policy. Ignored.

Anytime you behave outside your own identity, especially when you add actions, you are roleplaying.

So much source material on that, I've been playing off and on with a few people I stopped when I realized I was a terrible roleplayer and I stopped having fun with it. When the lows outnumber the highs by a good amount, it stops being fun.

....that wasn't outside my identity.

Maybe to yall since yall don't actually know me irl, but it wasn't.

Also I said done meaning I was dropping it to avoid further confrontations since I missed when Arcanel did the same.

Since I'm the one who can have a greater control on what goes on here,...

On second thought, what do you wanna gawk about now?

On second thought, now that I can constantly make fun of you since I'm on your ignore list...

Roleplaying is a learned skill, unfortunately, not an acquired taste.

Too bad the general consensus is mirrored.

Thanks for the offer, but I'd rather have it on hold for now. I would probably not go forward with it now. I'll proably ask you however to do sometime. But that will be when I actually CREATE an RP of my own. until then, I'll pass. Thanks for offering though. :) I'll consider it sometime, but I'd rather not waste your time when I'd probably not follow suit inmediately  . And you're right. I always wanted to try RPing, but was never truly interested enough. Someday I'll sometime probably be though. My curiosity has a limit after all :) .

Never played D&D since it was almost unknown in Argentina, RPing in Argentina is pretty uncommon, even in the internet, and I never took interest in it. Also having an OC that is OP COULD partake in a "hard" roleplaying, if the OP character actually has a purpose that does not flaunt its OP abilities, in my opinion. Also, if anything, "soft" roleplaying could be when neither of the participants are actually being serious, and are just playing around, if anything, hence why you could call them shitty, but only because it's not being taken serious. If however, they are trying and it still sucks, then I could agree. But that's your opinion anyway.

I kinda imagined that. While Haven and I I THINK were not acting outside how we would be IRL, it probably does count as RP since we added actions to things we do, making the idea that it was an identity. So yeah, I agree.

Oh, life. Someone get on top of this.

I'd just be afraid of forgetting what I did wrong, and then I'd be making the same mistakes over and over again in an endless loop.

Thankfully, my mistakes would be quite easy to fix. well, most of them.

Would mostly just make myself do good in school and not slack off so much. Get better grades and try harder for a job earlier.

But that's your opinion anyway.

It's still roleplay, and roleplay belongs into Roleplay forum.

It's kinda so in the fucking rules of this place.

It's the opinion of the Admins and Moderators of this site that I support wholeheartedly.

Don't even try. I will self-destruct.
