Then don't choose me as the target of your misdirected anger by targeting me.

I'm rather talking about people who declare war or attack first, not those who send soldiers in response to defend the country.

 

Don't dis soldiers.

Never do that.

Officers are soldiers.

Besides, military service is still compulsory in quite a few countries. Not everyone chooses to get killed, maimed, traumatized... for the good of the many.

 

Service is it's own reward and only jackasses follow destructive orders.

I shot my CO in a wargame and got lauded for it.

There is no more rewarding work to be done anywhere.

 

It's individual choices that make the army what it is, not the choices of politicians.

Stupid soldiers make stupid armies.

I'm not targeting you. Just pointing out that difficulty does not always increase with brainpower demand, as you claimed. Mentally and physically, a soldier in the field is under a lot more pressure than an officer in a desk, and (accept it or not) less time to decide (on a smaller scale, but still).

Besides, field soldiers are taught to do more than obey orders. They learn to take responsibility for their actions, and even worse, get blamed for it.

 

And yeah, keep saying politicians aren't responsible.
