The snare part for the national anthem is simply an open stroke roll. For the entire song.

 

And since I haven't played traditional grip on a snare in months, my roll sounded like anus. Not to mention my hands started to hurt like hell halfway through.

Ohshit...

I could bet they started to hurt. I hurt after not playing normal set for a few days. I couldn't imagine doing a roll period in traditional after some months. Not to mention I never practice any kind of rolls. >.>

lol I doubt most if any at all of the people who don't play snare or haven't would have noticed it. You don't usually notice mistake of things you don't play, unless its just that blatant.

I think most of the times, the guys within a band care for each other and are mostly nice guys (yourself included), but I wouldn't really know since I'm not in one, and in Argentina, marching bands aren't that common anyway. Oh no, we have ANOTHER type of bands...."murgas".
