I perceived that change of avatar as you becoming too unrelateable, and I honestly thought you'd disappear for good. I've lost enough friends because of this, and fell into enough depressions to reinforce myself that the world simply just doesn't care.

 

The only reason I'm still here is because I want to escape all the bullshit from my life. Writing and RPing was one of the many proxies for me to relieve that stress and it's done nothing but add to it. I've long since declared that it was too incompatible for me, and have permanently switched back to mod development.

 

At least in mod dev, I get the immediate satisfaction of making something that works, but even still, it's a thankless job that I have to go through.

 

You know what? Just... Forget it. I shouldn't care about it, and no one else will, anyway. Few people ever do, and it's from my home site.

Nah, I don't disappear that easily, mate. Even with this place going down the drain, I still haven't left yet.

 

That's a fair enough reason. I can't blame ya for that.

 

That's not exactly a good way of thinking, but I doubt I could change your mind at this point.

I just got a 1500-line block of code to work, though, and it works. Seariously, though, it's awesome.

 

You know, it's sometimes hard to go forward if the only thing you have left to go by is the most popular mod in your gaming niche and very few people realise the work that went into it and actually take the time to thank the people who put in the thousands of hours of toil it took to even get it into the state that it is.

 

Some people are absolute dicks of it and want more out of us when people like myself are already pushed to our functional, and sometimes emotional, limits.

 

Like, I could've gone forward with taking on a completely different thing, but how much success has something like fiction writing gotten me? Extremely little. It just adds to the emotional baggage of "Gawd, I wish I could just pull forward with this kind of thing, but I'm too shot to try".

 

And for me, as awkward as it is to explain it off-site, is that I can't just dump my emotional baggage on other people on my home site; they freakin' look up to me. I'm like a deity, for me's sake. So if something happens to me, I just have to suffer in silence.

 

At least, that's been the general trend of how shit things can get for me in the creative process. Things like fiction writing, I can't handle at all, but I can pour out with tons of code and have it work immediately. It's just that, if something happens to me, how does it work out in the end?

Just to be clear I come to MLPforums for my own personal amusement. Not to appease others or to be part of a community made up of strangers,who don't even have their name, age, location, face, or any other meaningful details available on their profile anyway. I've been around long enough to know if you get emotionally involved on the internet you're probably going to just end up pouring out your burthurt, and my supply of popcorn is dwindling.

Anyhoo, I'm recovering from a party last night...

Had too much to drink and ended up hugging the toilet. Wasn't fun.

of course it's not fun

 

now you have to date the toilet, sleep with it and eventually marry it, or the poor toilet will be crushed for life

I'm only gonna be with it for 9 more months. At that point I'm gonna have to break up with it, and let someone else enter its life.
