I got it as a Christmas present... I like it, but iTunes. Oh god, iTunes... How I hate that program

You can still torrent the music for free with an iPod, you don't need to buy music from iTunes in order to use it. :V

 

I like my iPod though, it's a lot nicer than the previous MP3 player that I owned. It's probably the only Apple item that I'll own... except maybe an iPhone. Maybe I'll get one of those.

 

No Macbooks for me though. I like my PC. :3

No, but I don't care about formatting or customizing. I wouldn't know how to format a cheapass MP3 player either.

 

I use VLC too. I don't like iTunes but I live with it to have an MP3 player that's been reliable for me.

It's easy to use and convenient. That's... pretty much the only good stuff about it.

 

It was worse when it REQUIRED you to update your software every single time an update came out. That sucked because it never let me do the automatic update and I had to redownload iTunes every single time I wanted to put a new song on my iPod. Thank goodness they fixed that problem... sorta...

Plug in, format. It's not hard by any means.

 

I paid about 40 dollah for this, six-seven years ago.

It still works, has no additional "Software", batteries last a week with near-constant use, I don't have to agree to anything every day and I can fix it myself for pittance if it should fail.

There will always be converters to MP3 format and soft/hardware that it has can be upgraded easily to accept other formats too.

 

You will need to get a new iPod as Apple discontinues support for the models you are using.
