“Well Howdy, Ma’am. My name is Jack.” He said with a smile on his face. “May I ask what your name is?”

Winterglade was busy contemplating on whether to ask Misty Leaves where was the bathroom or not when an earthly brown stallion approached her. She quickly snapped from her stupor. "Hello to you too. It's Winterglade. Um, you can call me winter if that's too long."

She looked around the room. With the addition of the ponies from the mud earlier and a gaggle of crashed pegasi, seemed like the room would be quite crowded. A conversation or two while waiting for the storm to dissipate doesn't sound bad, Winterglade mused.  "Phew. What a terrible storm we are having here! Anyway, Jack, what are you doing this far in the forest?"

@@Electrobolt, @@Zoop,

((Phone so no color text. :C))

Firebolt stood still, as the other pegasus didn't seem to notice her. Odd, how she didn't. Firebolt let her mind wander for a bit, temporarily forgetting the multiple problems she suddenly faced. That silence of thought was quickly interrupted by the other mare's request.

"Oh... Of course!" She replied. She wasn't really one for lifting either, but she did have magic... As minimal as it was. Firebolt quickly levitated the stallion off the other mare's back. While she wasn't very skilled in magic, levitation was a generic spell that almost every unicorn knew... Though it does cause massive fatigue if used too frequently.

Firebolt then quickly trotted to the other side of the house. Sounds could be heard from inside, so she knocked on the door.

"Oh! Thank you. I am Chrysanthemum, but please do call me Chrissie. Plesure to meet you Myst." Chrissie entered the house marveling at it's largeness. Then she remembered that Myst was there. "So, am I the only pony here or are there others?

"Hello Chrissie! It's nice to meet you!" Misty winced a bit at being called "Myst", the name sounded awkwards, but she wouldn't bother the new pony by commenting on it. She allowed Chrissie a few moments to marvel at the size of the home's interior. In truth, it was remarkably large. The cieling was comfortably tall for Celestia herself to nearly stand on her hind hooves. The area that they had entered was the kitchen.

The kitchen was particularly impressive. It had a marble table in it for food preparations and quick meals. The counter space was extensive. There were numerous cabinets and drawers. A large chandelier was suspended in the middle of the room. Though, no lights were on at the moment, and the darkness obscured the room, casting shadows across the floor. Only the periodic lightening from the storm outside illuminated the room.

Misty replied to the mare's question. "Oh no, you aren't the only one here!" She smiled welcomingly. "Actually, there are a bunch of ponies in the living room, right now. Would you like to meet them?" Without waiting for a response, she made her way back to the living room, assuming the Chrissie would follow.

Staring at her, Swift realized he never learned her name. "I just realized, I don't believe we have exchanged names" Swift stretches his arm out for a hoof shake "The name is Swift Justice, Attorney at law, and you are?"

Key blinked. An attorney? If he was a defense attorney, then that would be good news. If he was a prosecuter, then that might still be good news, depending on how much he liked currency. Despite the rain, Key managed a cheery reply. "Wow, you're an attorney? Hey, that's neat! I thought about being an attorney once, but I didn't have the patience for it... Anyway... My name's Key Gear, and I think we need to get outta this rain!" A bolt of lightening dropped nearby, lighting up the surrounding area, including the unconscious pegasus pony and the two mares off to the side. Key had been too distracted by her own thoughts to notice them earlier. Now that she'd seen them, her only thought was simple. That pegasus stallion is way too pink...

(OOC: I'mmmm baaack! :3 Sorry about the second lag. Don't worry. I'm active now.)

"Winterglade, huh? Thats a pretty nice name if I do say so myself Ma'am." Jack said trying to be polite as possible to the mare.

Winterglade was audibly chuckling when Jack told her that her name was a nice name. There had been some cases in the past that ponies misspelled her name or mistakenly put a space between Winter and Glade. The fact that Jack was trying to be polite went completely above her head.

He continued the conversation, "Oh, me?I am just going wherever my hooves tell me to go. I'm a bit of a nomad like that. What about you?" Jack said as he scratched his moustache with his hoof.

"Well, I'm not sure if I can call myself a nomad, but I have yet to found a good home to live in permanently," Winterglade replied. She shrugged. Up until now she had earned enough to rent a couple dirt-cheap flats on Ponyville and Los Pegasus. "I have rented two flats, but I rarely if ever sleep in them. They're for storing stuff most of the time. So far I've been travelling around doing various jobs, most of them are personal deliveries, just like this one I got on my saddlebag." She poked her saddlebag, which was thankfully only a bit damp.

Another lightning bolt. It was close enough to momentarily lit the surrounding area. Winterglade shivered. "Whoops... Those ponies at the outside are surely taking their time."

"Thank you, Misty Leaves. It was raining like hay out there, I do hope that the other ponies are alright. This is the strongest rain I have ever seen." Chrissie squeezed her mane into the towel, making numerous amounts of water drip onto the fluffy blue fabric.

"No kidding, it's raining nastily out there. The strangest thing about it is that I didn't even see the pegasus ponies move the clouds or anything. The storm just started going crazily. It was just like when I used to live near the Everfree Forest. That place would have weather, strange weather, all of the time. Well... I don't think that there's anything to this storm. Maybe this forest does that sometimes too? I wouldn't know, I've only been here for less than a year. Follow me, and you can meet the other guests."

She led Chrissie to the living room, where three other guests were gathered, waiting around. "Hello everypony, I would like to introduce Chrissie, and I have some towels if you're soggy. Hmm..." Misty noticed that Winterglade had wandered to an unpopulated area of the room and shook herself dry. She didn't say anything, but she noticed that the mare had shook herself dry in the carpeted area. She placed the towels in a neat stack on a small table to the right of a sofa. Just then, she heard another knock at the door.

Swift knocks on the door to the cottage desperately hopping that someone would answer.

Misty went over to the door, and mindful of the weather, opened it slowly. Waiting at the door was a tall blue stallion with a dark mane. He was soaking because of the storm. "Oh, my... Please, come in! I have towels right over here! Ummm... This is rather unusual... What brings you out to the forest, friend?" She looked further to her left and saw another blue pony, a mare with a gray mane. "Oh! Both of you come in!" Misty ushered both of the ponies in and shut the door behind them.

Firebolt then quickly trotted to the other side of the house. Sounds could be heard from inside, so she knocked on the door.

She had just turned away from the door when another knock was heard. Misty blinked. "Excuse me, everypony!" She opened the door again. This time, there was a unicorn with what seemed to be a grayish coat and a red mane and tail. "Oh my... Come in and dry yourself off! Ummm... Wait... Are there any other ponies outside besides yourself?"

@@Starshine,

Jack nodded his head at Winterglades statements. The lightning caught him off guard as he was about to talk once more to the mare; it made him lose his train of thought.

"You sound like my kind of mare." As he finished the sentence it dawned on him what he said.

"By that i mean i admire the fact that you do jobs...for flats." Jack was disappointed in himself. He felt like he made an idiot of himself in front of the mare.

"You sound like my kind of mare."

Winterglade's face contorted into that of an unreadable expression. She blinked once. And once more. Did the stallion just...?

"By that i mean i admire the fact that you do jobs...for flats." Jack was disappointed in himself.

After moments of unnerving silence between the two, the mare burst into laughter. Winterglade knew she should feel bad for reacting like this, but something from how Jack said it all really tickled her sides. Her knees felt weak from all the laughing. Finally calmed down, she wiped a tear from her eyes and spoke to Jack, "Really sorry for laughing there, Jack. I never really have any stallion said something like that to me, and you're also being all... " She swung one of forehooves, her eyes shifting around the room, taking in the details of the cottage, including the stack of towels near the sofa, before settling on Jack's. "So, yeah. Anyway... I need a towel."

She quickly cantered to the small table to retrieve the towel, away from Jack. Her saddlebag was still on the floor near the corner, but she was sure that nopony would do anything to it. There was nothing but boring books in it. She could feel a small tinge of blush on her cheeks. It was the first time in years that somepony actually liked what she did for a living. It's been hundred of times too many that she was reminded of her inability to do something right. It feel good that for once, somepony was actually okay with it, albeit the stallion was being awkward. With a sigh the mare took one of the towel and started thoroughly dry out her mane.

After giving the request for help, Grand Journeys could feel her legs about to give way before the weight on her back begin to disappear. Although she was confused, the feeling of having nothing weighing her down was welcomed as she stretched her legs out a bit. Afterwards, she looked at her back only to see that the stallion she had collided into was being levitated. She was surprised for a moment before recalling that the pony that was with the stallion was a unicorn. Thankful for the mare's help, she said, "Thank you for helping..." But as she turned around, the mare that help her out already started to enter.

Seeing her move on without her, Grand sighed. "She could have waited for me... But I'm glad she took that pink stallion out of the rain. Speaking of..." She shook herself as she felt her coat, mane, and tail starting to get completely soaked before shivering. "I've been in this rain too long..." Moving quickly, Grand began to move around the house until she got to the front door, where she quickly entered through. Dripping wet, she began to look around, seeing the ponies that were there, including the mare whom helped her with the stallion. But, completely soaked, the first thing she asked was, "Um, pardon me for asking but... Does anypony know where the towels are...?"

Winterglade had busied herself with her towel and her mane. She kept rubbing the poor towel on every damp corners of her body and her mane. She continuously rubbed the insides of her ears for a good two minutes before finally gave up. She flicked her ears a few times. There was a certain weird sensation inside them, but she had no idea what caused it. Some ponies entered the cottage one by one, and one of them even had a knocked out pegasus in her telekinesis. Winterglade didn't pay any attention to their conversations until one of the mares asked for a towel.

"Um, pardon me for asking but... Does anypony know where the towels are...?"

Winterglade quickly grabbed one of the dry towels on the small table and trotted to give the towel to the teal pegasus, her own towel was still on her head. "Here you go! Better dry out your mane soon. It's kinda cold here." She shivered slightly. if her memory served her right, this mare was among the ones who were near the knocked out pink pegasus outside the cottage. "Hey, what happened with the pink one?" Winterglade asked while pointing a hoof to the pick pegasus who was still floating in the grey unicorn's telekinesis.

"Oh! Both of you come in!" Misty ushered both of the ponies in and shut the door behind them.

Key Gear stepped into what she assumed to be the living room of the cottage. It was rather large, but not overwhelmingly so. Strangely there were quite a few ponies already there. She started to shake herself dry, but she stopped when she saw a stack of towels that had been placed not too far away, presumably for guests to use to dry themselves off. She trotted over and took one. Behind her, she could hear the sound of a few more ponies venturing in. "Full house?" Key whispered to herself as she looked over her shoulder to see a unicorn levitating in an unconscious pegasus. "Geeze..."

"Yes." The unicorn said bluntly, not wanting to exert herself too much, as she levitated the light stallion in. Hopefully, too many questions would not be asked. Firebolt wasn't sure if the other mare had followed her. She assumed yes, but that was in vain. Of course, Firebolt had her own matters to attend to.

Misty blinked at the unicorn's bluntness, but before she could inquire further, she saw the reason that the unicorn had been so short with her. "Oh, my..." She said as the pegasus was levitated into the room. "Well... I guess he must have crashed because of the storm?" She sighed and looked around... "Could you put him on that sofa over there?" She pointed at a sofa near the middle of the room. "I have a first aid kit and some ice that we could use if he has a concussion."

"Uh. You don't have a bed or anything... Do you?"

She smiled sympathetically at the unicorn mare. "Thankfully, yes, quite a few. This cottage was once a hotel, but it's not a large one. This definitely isn't the Manehattan Suites, and at this rate, some will need to share rooms."

"Hello there, I'm sorry to bother you but I have a small request. Well a question and a request. If thats alright with you."Jack said as he licked his moustache while waiting for a response.

Misty turned to look at the stallion while he was talking. She squinted. There was an injured pegasus to attend to, her cottage was filling with guests, and she was already trying to figure out what to do for dinner. He seemed to know that he was interrupting her, but he seemed to be deliberately vague. Her eyes opened quizzically as he licked his mustache. That seemed completely, unnecessarily gross. She was strongly reminded of why she wasn't very fond of the "mustached stallion" look. Now, she was definitely being bothered.

Slightly irritated, she spoke quicker than she normally would have. "You have a question and a request? Yes, it's alright with me, but be fast, please. And, another thing, please don't lick your mustache again, it really isn't a good habit to have. It's strange, unsanitary, and leads to everything you eat tasting like your own mustache."

The mare was a lemon-colored earth pony with a plum colored mane and tale. She was also soaking wet, miserable, and completely lost. One moment, she had been resting at a friend's home in Ponyville, spending the night waiting for her train to depart the next morning. The very next moment, her eyes were opened to the sight of a symphony of rain, lightning, and darkness.

Ambrosia didn't have to think very hard to know what had happened. Throughout most of her life, sleepwalking had always been an issue for her. It was one of the reasons that her job as a chef on a train was a good fit. Within the tightly confined boundaries of a train, she didn't have many ways to get into lots of trouble. But, now, here she was wondering in a forest in the middle of nowhere.

She wasn't too worried. It was still nighttime, which meant that she would probably be able to find her way back before the train departed in the morning. She'd never been late for a train's departure, and she wasn't about to start now. She had a relatively decent memory, so she decided to try her luck in several directions from her starting position. Surely, she though, she wasn't very far from Ponyville.

Unfortunately, the task of getting back was proving to be almost impossible. It seemed as though the forest itself was playing games with her, taunting her. After just a few steps in any direction, she would look around and be unable to determine where she was going. The storm was getting worse. She sighed. She wasn't afraid of the dark, she wasn't afraid of the lightning. She doubted that there were very many creatures around. Instead, she was just miserable.

With every careful step she made, her misery increased. What if she didn't make it back by morning? What if she never made it back? What if this whole thing was another one of her wild dreams and she was actually half-awake in the Everfree forest? Everfree... She shuddered. She'd heard stories about that place. It was dangerous. Thinking about those stories, she started to move a little bit faster.

The normally graceful filly was running, wild-eyed and breathing heavily. She had been on the outskirts of Ponyville, stargazing, when she noticed the storm gathering in White Lake Woods. There hadn't been a single pegasus pony in sight. It seemed like it would be an interesting phenomena to investigate. She had no idea that the storm would gather as much strength as it was now building.

Luminescence had a strikingly red mane and tail. Her fur was a silvery color. Her eyes were as red as her mane and tail. Unusually, she seemed to glow faintly in the darkness. It was an unusual "gift". From an extremely early age, her parents had noticed that she seemed to glow in the dark. The effect was tremendously dim, but it was more than enough to light her path as she ran through the forest in a panicked state.

She hated the dark, but at that moment, the heavy clouds blocked out the light of the stars and the moon. All she was left with were the periodic, threatening flashes of lightning. As mad as it seemed, she ran towards the lightning, wherever it fell. With every gut wrenching moment, her hoofsteps seemed to pound the ground with greater force.

"Thank you." Firebolt said, beginning to trot over to the couch. She then stopped suddenly. She had only now acknowledged how soaked and cold she was, especially in contrast to the heat of the room.

It wasn't that that was bothering her though. Suddenly, she sneezed, softly, but still enough to stop her levitation. Inevitably, she dropped Key Gear, with a gasp.

While Grand Journeys was glancing around the room with her eyes to see where the towels might be, suddenly a wintry-colored mare popped up in front of her while holding a towel. "Oh, thank you..." she responded after the mare spoke to her, taking the towel as she started to dry herself off. With a slight shiver from being soaked to the bone, she dried off every section of her body that she could. However, she stopped once the mare had asked what had happened to the pink stallion. With a sigh, she started to dry her mane off before wrapping the towel around her head.

"Well..." she began, not exactly sure of how she should put it. After giving it a bit of consideration and moving out of the doorway, she continued. "Basically, I rolled into him on accident... Literally rolled into him. You see, while I was galloping through the rain and trying to find shelter... Well, I didn't notice this rock on the path, and I tripped over it... And then I wound up going down this incline, which wound up giving me the momentum to start rolling, I suppose..." Shaking her head gently to not knock the towel off, she then looked away. "Although it was an accident, I can't help but feel as if I was at fault..."

Icarus squinted. Through the torrential downpour, it was almost impossible to make out any defining characteristics of the surrounding area. There was nothing but the strangely dark and obscure woods. It was simply him and his surroundings, as it had been for most of his life. Squinting even harder, he eyed what appeared to be some sort of structure. Figuring it was a large rock he could possibly shelter himself in, he squinted even harder. Nothing else could be determined at this distance due to the current inclement conditions. Slowed by not only the rain and wind, but also an inexplicable fear, he trotted towards what became increasingly more evident to be a small cottage. Icarus looked up at the sky, only to see the dark of the clouds. Quickly glancing behind him, he realized how darkened that his own coat was due to this rain. As the building came closer and closer into view, a feeling of relief washed over him.

He approached the cottage. Giving it a quick scan, he realized that it was a bit larger than he had originally deduced. There were hoof prints in the mud near the front door. The rain continued to pour down as if a curse from some greater being. He quickly reached into his now-soaked saddlebag to find that the contents had been utterly ruined by water aside from a few bits and a small apple for snack. He slapped the bag shut and glanced back over at the house, annoyed and muttering profanities under his breath. Icarus was taken aback when he thought he saw movement in one of the windows of the first floor of the cottage. Puffing out a white cloud of breath from his nose, he decided that he might as well knock on the door. He had no other options except endure more of this almost torturous rain.

He promptly trotted over to the door, picked up his right hoof and knocked loudly, not expecting any response. Noticing how muddy his hoof had become, he tried to brush some mud and dirt off of it. The rain was really starting to come down now, almost to the point of being bone-chilling. Discouraged at not getting a response, he knocked a bit quieter for a second time and waited. He breathed a sigh of disheartened annoyance. He tried the knob, but it appeared to be locked. Whoever lived hear had either not heard him, not cared enough to greet him, or, most likely, had not even been there in the first place. The muscles in his wings uncontrollably tightened. A sudden cold fear washed over him as the realization that he truly was all alone in the darkened woods. Icarus' mind jumped to the dozens of horror tales and movies he had seen with settings such as this, but quickly brushed them away and decided to try and find somewhere else to wait out the storm. Just as he turned round to find somewhere else to hunker down, he heard the door creak open.

Winterglade couldn't held back a laughter when the teal mare told her that she practically rammed herself to the poor pegasus. She coughed twice from the exertion. Seemed like the rain had a certain effect on her. "Oh boy... I hope you didn't break anything important. It would be a shame if he-" She replied to the teal mare before stopping abruptly. She took a quick glance on the pink pegasus, who was now somehow on the floor. The pegasus was a bit slender than any other pegasi stallion out there, but that snout was unmistakably a stallion's. "Wait a minute... I almost thought he was a mare." She chortled. The storm outside was still going harsh as ever, she decided to get some conversation going to pass the time. "Anyway! My name is Winterglade. I guess we are pretty much stuck in this cottage until the storm subsided. What's your name and how do you end up here?"

One moment, there was nothing; a great void, impressive and incomprehensible in the vast expanse of nothingness contained within. There was no concept of time, nor space.

Then, there was an explosion. Of pain.

The formerly empty expanse was suddenly filled up; where just prior there had been nothing, there were now thoughts and memories, faded and frayed, as though viewed through a particularly crummy second-hand VCR. They played themselves out all at once in the metaphysical space in Keystone's mind, overloading the stallion's recently battered skull as it attempted to make sense of them.

The last thing he remembered was arriving to do work on some locks in a well-off griffon's recently robbed summer home located on the edge of a forest. The home, though it was more like a small mansion than anything else, had, of course, been the wrong edge, making a trip over the forest necessary in order to reach the blasted place in a reasonable amount of time. He remembered completing the work and being asked some questions about pick and other tamper resistant locks that were available, in fact, just before his memories cut off...

The pink stallion's eyes snapped open as he leaped to his feet. Before his mind even had time to comprehend where he was, his mouth was moving as he desperately attempted to continue on from the last thing he could remember.

"secondarymechanismsareimportantforstoppingthecylinderfrombeingcompromisedbythingslikepickingandbumpkeysusuallythisisaccomplishedthroughtheuseofasidebarmechanismsuchaswithour---"

Key's jaw stopped mid-sentence the moment he became aware of his surroundings. He didn't know what the hell was going on, or where he was, but he had a reasonable idea that he wasn't in Alioth's summer home. Instead, he found himself in a much more modest looking room, completely and utterly surrounded by ponies that he had never seen before in his life.

Keystone blinked, and slowly closed his still-open mouth. He blinked once again, then twice, thrice, and once again as the holes in his memory started to fill up.

He remembered bidding the agreeable seeming griffon farewell and (foolishly, it now seemed) declining an offer to stay the night in a guest room for the sake of waiting out the weather before leaving the small mansion behind and attempting to make his way back home despite the brewing storm. He remembered the storm worsening beyond anything he would have imagined, as he desperately attempted to make the trip as quickly as possible, cursing both his poor luck and his poor judgement the entire way. He remembered surveying the landscape below as he flew, and finding potential shelter below in a home, which he supposed he was probably now inside of. He remembered crashing into it, and he remembered being struck by something not unlike a squishy bowling ball as well, but those memories were far more tattered and difficult to make sense of.

An incomprehensible and strangled sound uttered its way forth from Keystone's mouth as he saw more than one pony staring, looking at him like he was insane. He sighed, sat down where he stood, and brought a hoof to his face at his own actions, blushing furiously and mentally berating himself for his own foolishness.

Wing groaned as he stumbled through the rain. He had gotten caught up in one of his ridiculous ideas to study lightning in real time and found himself now lost in the midst of what could be the storm of the century. In retrospect, the concept was stupid and dangerous, but he was known for random crazy streaks. The drag from the falling sheets pulled back his black mane, and the pegasus struggled to push his way through the downpour. Even opening his eyes became a hassle - a test of endurance - that a physicist was unused to facing. "I'm just like a fumbling foal," he grunted.

He wandered with his lids shut for what felt like hours before he felt the touch of the forest disappear beneath his hooves. Things had definitely transitioned to stallion-handled wood, and the pony pressed forward until he rammed his muzzle into a wall. "Buck Luna," he squealed and pulled back from the structure. At least he could actually look at something now, and in this instance, he found himself standing beside a cottage. Wing wondered if somepony happened to be inside, and he briskly walked around the structure, searching for a door when he caught sight of a fellow pony standing at the entryway.

With his faded lavender coat drenched, Wing was thrilled to see another pegasus in the same predicament -- or at least thrilled to see that he was not stranded alone. "Hello!" he called over the storm's rumbling growl. "I'm surprised to see another pony out here in this weather. I take it you got stuck out in this storm too?"

Lost stumbled through the forest, trying to figure out how it was that he had gotten there. The last thing he remembered was deciding to take a walk to clear his mind. That was around noon. Apparently he had done a pretty good job of clearing his mind, because everything after that was pretty much a blank. But he could forgive himself for being absentminded on this occasion. After all, it was her birthday. If things had gone differently, if he had been there for her, they would be together right now, celebrating. Instead he had spent the morning visiting her grave.

Of course, there were more pressing matters to attend to at the moment than lamenting his past mistakes, namely finding out exactly where he was and how to get back home. As he wandered, he saw a figure in the distance. Drawing closer, he realized it was a pony, a yellow mare. Quickly heading towards her he called out:

"Hey! I don't suppose you know the way out of here, do you?
