I LOVE Soul, Funk and Disco music, those styles and House music are the styles of music I listen to 99% of the time

I LoVe Disco, Funk, and Soul. Right now i seem to be one of the few people actually making any pony music with those genres right now actually. I actually used to dj at a nightclub chain called Pollyesters so I've had a wide amount of time with the music (although i like to go into deeper disco then the crowd favorites). Thay second track is made up with tracks all having Train in the title (or in D-train's case their artist name, nice catching the sample . So Love Train, Soul Train Theme (The Sound of Philadelphia), James Brown - Funk Train, Munich Machines's Get on the Funk Train, and ELo's Last Train to London all show up on there. (think named them all)

I don't listen to a lot of funk these days so most of the funk songs I know are just songs I remember hearing because my parents would listen to it so often. Of course, that doesn't mean I disliked the songs.

I love this tune if you like Funk and Disco music it's worth a listen in my opinion:

 

 

I really like Eddie Johns- More Spell on you

 

 

Daft Punk sampled it in One More Time, and whilst I love them and there music a great deal. It has to be said the original More Spell On You song on places like YouTube, doesn’t get a lot of credit in the comments other than the credit of Daft Punk sampling three notes out the horn section. And it’s a shame because this is a great Disco song in it’s own right.

Anyone heard of the Disco group called Escort? there a recent band from New York with some producers from it having a history in making House music, but have more recently created the band Escort a modern day but live Disco group.

I don't listen to a lot of funk/disco, but I don't mind listening to some of it sometimes. I mean some of it can be really annoying, but some of it I do like the feel of, like this one. lol

 

 

As for soul, I have songs I like better, but I have to post this one, because it has my instrument! Several years back when I started getting into it, I heard this song on the radio and could not believe what I was hearing, my instrument in pop music (well, back then I didn't play it quite yet, but you get what I'm saying, right?).

Hi all, I really want to share with you this song called ‘Closer to you’, originally by the Carpenters this version is a 1986 cover by Gwen Guthrie done in a more R&B/Soul style, I just think it's beautiful and wanted to share it
