I like that movie, Terry Mcginnis put an end to Joker after he had been given multiple chances of rehabilitation, due to incompetence of law enforcement in Gotham, Joker kept escaping to cause more chaos in DCAU as well. If Terry did not do that, Joker would have killed Terry and his family and Dana. Terry was in a life or death situation above all else.

I'm not sure that we've seen the same movie (and I've seen both cuts of Return of the Joker). This was basically

Spoiler

a digital clone of the original Joker that is superimposed onto the brain of Tim Drake

His consciousness was downloaded into the chip on Tim Drake's neck, not just his DNA, or so his statement implies.

"Everything that was me has been asleep all comfy and cozy inside Tim Drake's subconscious."

Well, I did not say Tim Drake died, he obviously did not. All that happened is the chip got fried, killing Joker but not him.

Deadpool and Wolverine (2024) This was almost exactly what I expected; a lot of Ryan Reynolds’ riffing, against a backdrop of an ever-so-easy multiverse where lazy writers reign supreme. But this movie really isn’t about the plot; it’s about Ryan Reynolds’ aforementioned riffing, bolstered up by the ever-popular Wolverine to grab that extra box office and put it on the map. The strategy succeeded and you get a movie here that may not be brilliant or even consistent, but at least diverting for a couple hours. One thing about Ryan Reynolds is that he never seems to shut up, which means that after two hours of nonstop BS a few of his one-liners are going to score. So yeah, it did manage to pull some laughs out of me. On the whole I’m not a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds because he plays the exact same character in every movie he makes, and I’m not such a huge fan that I actually seek more of him. Hugh Jackman on the other hand, is the real deal; a good actor with true star quality. I could watch him all day. Interestingly, the parts I liked best had little to do with Deadpool, but with the other characters like Johnny Storm, whose end credit monologue was among the funniest parts of the movie. The movie was okay and worth a view. 6.5/10

Gladiator II was rewatched a month ago.

I watched Deadpool and Wolverine last August @Dreambiscuit:D  I wish they used a different (and catchier) song in Act I of Deadpool traveling those worlds to find the correct Wolverine.  This song comes to mind and I would jam in the seat to it:toldya:

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

@ZiggWheelsManning Agreed. This is a good choice and it does have a nice beat to it. I’ll jam right along in the next seat over.

My latest:

Juror #2 (2024) A competent movie directed by Clint Eastwood who shows that even in his mid-90s, he can still direct a movie better than most people half his age. (Many spoilers ahead!) This movie is interesting in that it puts a man with a past on a jury for a crime he has an unintentional involvement in, but can’t speak up about it due to his own checkered history and the new life he’s trying to create on the straight-and-level. The prosecutor and police simply want to move things along as fast as possible and get a conviction whether extenuating circumstances apply or not. Everyone has their own motives, and not always honorable ones. The Juror, who has the most to lose, would, if he spoke up, be charged based on past crimes already paid for, and not the present circumstances. This doesn’t speak well for the justice system, but justice seldom has much to do with the law. So we see an interesting battle between what is right by the letter of the law, and what is morally right. The close of the movie, while leaving much unspoken, also speaks volumes as to the possibilities. Some audiences didn’t like the ending. I didn’t mind it, but I also think that when you write a movie with a good twist, it should have an ending equal to that twist. Most movies fall short of solving their own plots in a truly original or satisfying way. Still, this movie, mostly because of Eastwood’s quality direction, held my attention well. 7/10

Alien Director’s Cut (1979) Okay, we all know this movie and it’s a classic. The director’s cut, in my opinion is even a little better than the original theatrical release because it adds some edge to it that works. It’s interesting that the Director’s Cut is actually slightly shorter than the theatrical release, making me wonder if it’s just an alternate cut that Ridley Scott (or more likely 20th Century fox) made to promote the movie or dvd sales in later years. Usually a studio doesn’t add material to a director’s finished product. In most cases they edit it down. So the fact that this version is shorter makes me wonder what the real story is. Ridley Scott probably wanted to try a few alternate takes to see what effect it would have to the overall impact of the film. In this case it gave it a very good impact, which surprises me because Ridley Scott is no genius, especially these days. 9/10

Alien Hunter (2003) I had seen bits and pieces of this movie but never the whole thing from end to end. Finally caught up with the whole thing and I realize is plays much better when 80% of the movie is omitted. It’s really a mess; made up of material pilfered from The Thing (which, like this movie, also borrowed liberally from Alien) and looks like it had a budget of a buck ninety-eight, with lots of stock footage blending seamlessly with the cheap, grainy film stock used in the rest of the movie. The director, Ron Krauss, has made his name in music videos and commercials. Too bad movies require an attention span of more than a minute. This guy was not equipped for the job. 4/10

Back to the Future III.

I'm just surprised that they were able to make not one but two good sequels to the first one. Nowadays that's not usually the case as more sequels tend to feel like a trap than trying to tell a story. Though admittedly III was really part 2 of the 2nd movie.

Twas a good movie. Great characters, love the revelation of Marty's ancestors in their youth, bringing the future to them as well a little bit. Love how they were able to make it a happy ending :ooh: . But maybe I'm spoiling too much :please:.

Turtles Forever (2009) I like this movie but I don’t like how they portrayed the 1987 turtles. Not their voices, their personalities. I understand that the 1987 series is a comedy, but it still took things seriously when it needed to, and the turtles weren’t total idiots. But with that said, I still like this movie.
