Chrysalis is a parasite that needs the power of others to become truly powerful, meanwhile, Discord is the presumed spirit of chaos, who can't be defeated by anything other than the Elements of Harmony, something a heartless bitch like Chrysalis has no hope of wielding. Discord warps reality, too, which puts him in an entirely different league than most characters in the show, let alone Chrysalis.

Ah, but Chrysalis could charm her opponent to death. Personally, I consider psychological warfare more effective than any kind of power. Charm can basically force one to defeat oneself, with little effort from the charmer.

I am kind of using science to an extent. Thought he MLP universe runs off magic and magic is love and friendship. Discord was actually able to succumb to those feelings when Fluttershy reformed him. Chrysalis has a parasitic black heart and is most likley immortal. I just think the more love she consumed she would be able to be near omnipotent. Celestia and Luna created the elements of harmony and for all we know the elements are not the end all of power. It seems love is, just imagine the monster Chrissy would be is she could harness that.

   My reasoning behind this absolute is the fact that Discord is literally the god/embodiment/spirit of chaos, arguably one of the most important and powerful reality traits, whilst Chrysalis is literally no threat without feeding on love. Why do you think she has to rely on trickery to get ponies' love? Even when Chrysalis is on Celestia's level, Discord is still a league above her.

 

   And Chrysalis is my favorite villain of the four.

God of chaos vs. queen of love parasites?  Going with the god of chaos on this one, easily; on another note, why is it that Chrysalis is always the one compared to him?  I get that she beat Celestia and had any army, but as far as raw power goes I think that the closest contender of the main villains to Discord would actually be Nightmare Moon.  After all, it took the Elements of Harmony to vanquish her (twice) same as Discord, something that wasn't required with Chrysalis or Sombra.

Honestly, if a being that needs to take the shape of another's to gain power, it has no chance against someone like Discord who could probably tear apart Equestrian if he wished to do so. So everyone can already tell that Discord will win a battle in a landslide against a queen made of what appears to be rotting wood.

    Discord is the god of chaos himself. As stated above by the most Chaotic member of the forums @@~Chaotic Discord~ he is the only thing immune to Fluttershy's stare, and I believe that that is one heck of a feat. He could probably tear Equestria to shreds if he wanted to but he is just to cool. Chrysalis lacks in raw power and she would be worthless if she didn't steal powers. Man, she can't even feed her own royal subjects. Discord can do anything and I beat he could take own all of the other villains. Honestly the only pony he can have the slightest worry about is Nightmare Moon if she ever comes back.

Well I am pretty sure we could end this by saying both would lose to Queen Lauren. Lauren Faust's OC(why am I calling it her OC she created the show) Queen Lauren isn't a character, but if she was int eh show. She is Goddess of all life, nothing can exist without her. At the end of the day, the writer of a cartoon is the omnipotent one. Queen Lauren would just make child's play of Discord and Chrysalis

Discord.

Discord basically controls matter, he can do whatever he wants whenever he wants. He could of easily taken over Equestria and get away with it if he wasn't so goofy and joyful. 

Chrysalis may be some sort of master-planner to take over Canterlot, but that was with the help of the millions of her changelings. She needed a strong source of love to be able to defeat Princess Celestia, yet it took Princess Celestia and Princess Luna using the Elements of Harmony to imprison Discord, which he escaped after 1000 years.

That depends.

A full frontal assault with all his power can, without a doubt, no one survive.

But Discord is not the sort of villain who would do that.

He would probably make a game of it, and that is the point where Chrysalis can get him.

She would have to surprise him, shock him, for example, by making him believe he accidentally killed Fluttershy.

Then she could, while he is distracted, somehow, maybe with some kind of spell, steal his 

magic before his wrath consumes the world.

For that, of course, she would need to be at a very high magical level, maybe wearing the alicorn amulet or something similar.

I think that is the only way to defeat Discord without the elements.

I doubt that. He would probably make every changeling believe that the changeling next to it is Discord, causing them to rip each other apart.

If we were to follow the rules of Screwattack's Death Battles, this would be a 1 on 1 confrontation without any outside help, without the combatants having any non-canon knowledge of each other and lastly, no preperation time.

 

- Queen Chrysalis

 

Queen Chrysalis, on her own, is likely the most powerful Changeling, but her powers require love to charge them up. In A Canterlot Wedding, she reveals that it is the love she drained from Shining Armor that actually helped her overpower Princess Celestia.

 

We also don't know the exctent of Chrysalis' magical power. We know she can fire a beam of charged energy, and she is most likely able to do other similar offensive attacks. Disguised as Cadence, she was also able to trap Twilight Sparkle in a ring of fire and send her to the Canterlot Caves, most likely a teleportation spell. And altough it is not shown, she can probably create forcefields, levitate heavy objects and do other things the Princesses can, but with it's efficency dependant on the love she has drained (and if she is prepared for an attack).

 

Chrysalis' main feature, however, is her shape-shifting. In A Canterlot Wedding, she is able to replicate both Cadence's physical form and her voice. As Cadence is physically smaller in shape than Chrysalis, this also means the Changeling Queen can reduce her size, but wether or not she can become small enough to replicate the normal pony shape is unkown, but I will just guess it is here. I don't know if Chrysalis would be able to peform magic disguised as a pegasi or an earth pony, but even if she could, it would be quite obivous that something isn't right.

 

Just how the shapeshifting works is also up to debate, but when Chrysalis sheds the Cadence form, we can se feathers blasting off, so it is most likely not a simple illusion, but actual shapeshifting. Her endurance is likely on the same level as Celestia, but the queen being an equine insectoid probably gives her a sturdier skin that ponies.

 

Lastly Chrysalis is able to fly, even tough her insect wigns probably isn't as effective as pegasi wings. And she is a schemer, making up a plan and sticking to it. She is shown to be manipulative, cunning and daring, due to her high-risk plan and tricking of Shining Armor. Sadly, plans rarely work in Death Battles, as the battles are spontaneus events. I have practicaly no idea how old she is, and the extent of her experience. She could be an immortal ruler like Celestia and Luna, or simply a mortal queen that someday will be switched out, I don't know.

 

- Discord

 

Discord's power levels are... hard to decide, seing as he has yet to reveal his ture limit. But, for the sake of it, I will list up some of the abilities Discord has shown to have in the show:

• Item Manifestation: Discord has the ability to make literally everything he wants from thin air. While he seems to do it mainly to create chocolate milk and other non-lethal objects, there is nothing to suggest that he isn't able to materilize weapons and dangerous objects if he actually wants.
• Body Manipulation: In his appearances, Discord has been shown numerous times to be able to warp his own body to great lenghts. He can loose any body parts at will, split his head in two, grow extra faces, stretch and warp and generally do whatever he wants. One important question, however, is if physical harm can do anything against Discord. My theory is that Discord can use his magic to prevent any injury by warping his body, but that he is actually suspensable to injury (as seen with him backing away from the Tatzlwurm)
• Power of the Sun and the Moon: In Return of Harmony, Discord speeds the day cycle up, lowering and raising the sun and the moon on a whim.
• Reality Bending: Discord's most important power is his ability to warp physics and reality. He can practically morph any object into anything he wants, change the texture of the ground, deny gravity, change the size of objects and creating food-related weather. Again, he can practically do whatever he wants.
• Mind Warp: Discord can hypnotize doubtful minds into the reverse of their personality with his eyes, and even if that doesn't work, he can forcefully mind warp anyone with a touch. If this will only reverse the personality or change it into whatever Discord wants is unkown.
• Object Animation: Discord can bring objects to life. If this is true sentient life or simply an animation is unkown, but the function is the same.
• Cloning: Discord can create copies of himself (as seen in Keep Calm and Flutter On)
• Illusions: Thanks to his mind powers, Discord should be able to produce hallucinations and illusions to users, either to a single induvidual or a whole crowd. While he has never been shown to do this, and therefore I will not calculate this ability, it is very likely that he can.

Discord's age and experience is very sketchy. While he appears between the Unification of the Pony races and Celestia and Lunas rise to the throne, we still don't know how long he was around before that. He could basicly be anything between a thousand years old and as old as the world itself. While he should techincally have tons of experience, he doesn't seem to use it very well.

 

Discord's main flaw is his personality. While he has the power to seemingly destory Equestria, he prefers to mess around with ponies and not do any actual physical harm. He is goofy and arrogant, sometimes underestimating his opponents and their ability to resist his magic. But due to his enormus magical potention, there is little that can actually harm him. Celestia stated that she and Luna combined posed no match to him, and therefore had to use the Elements of Harmony, the only real counter to Discord, to defeat him. And Tirek, too, knew he was no match to Discord, and therefore tricked and backstabbed him, using the momentum to drain Discord's powers. And while this may seem good, Tirek is so far the only one shown to have that particular ability.

 

- Conclusion

Based on this, it is pretty clear that Discord would trump Chrysalis in a 1v1 matchup. While Chrysalis managed to infiltrate Canterlot and almost conquer the capital, Discord managed to manipulate all the Element barers, exept Fluttershy, by making them doupt their elements, revealing that he had lots of knowledge about them even when being turned to stone. Discord was also the one to discover the "Rainbow Connection" to the Tree of Harmony, proving that he indeed does know the Elements of Harmony well. All this makes their planning abilities, thanks to both their triumphs and failures, pretty similar.

 

Even without planning, Discord easily trumps Chrysalis in magical ability. His magic allows him to negate all of Chrysalis' main attacks, and he is technically able to turn her into a mindless taco with the snap of his fingers. Even if Chrysalis had brought the Changeling swarm, Discord could have gotten out of the situation in multiple ways, either by creating an army of himselfs, teleport out and create magma rain or make the Changelings fight themselves.

 

Chrysalis' main ability, her shapeshifting, is what would be her best chance agains the God of Disharmony. The only problem is that Chrysalis most likely doesn't know about Discord's connection with Fluttershy, and even if she did she would have to have good knowledge of Fluttershy to actually be able to trick Discord. And lastly, even if she could trick Discord, then what? Would she try to blast him with a beam that's most likely innefective or backstab him in a heart that could be located anywhere in his body, if he even have a heart?

 

While Discord normally wouldn't harm anyone, on of the main Death Battle rules is that all restraint from killing is removed, and even if Discord still would prefer to play and trick with Chrysalis, he would have no moral hinderance from killing her.

 

In the end, my vote goes to Discord in this matchup.

I know this is a bit off topic but honestly wiz and boomstick really need to do more research.

Take Goku VS Superman for example.

First of all, Superman DOES have Limits. And he most certainly is not "just as strong as he needs to be". Let me also point out that Superman's home planet Krypton was 10x the gravity of Earth's. But Goku later trained in gravity far higher than that. And he could also withstand it in just his base saiyan form alone. Superman IS very powerful yes but he can still be hurt by strong villains. Like Darksied, Mongul and Doomsday etc. And Darksied doesn't even have to use his Omega Beams at full power to hurt Superman. Superman also got beaten up real bad when he fought people who were nothing more than mere humans inside power suits. And Superman did not move the earth and moon by his own power. He had help from Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter. And Hawkman was even shown to own Superman with a punch that had the force of a planet one time. I'd also like to point out that many Superman fans often like to hide the fact that they "forget" that Pre-Crisis Superman was the one who sneezed away an entire Galaxy. But that was only because of Myx's dust. LOTS of Myx's dust. Superman also did not lift 200 Quintillion Tons by his own natural power. It was only because his body was unstable from prolonged exposure to red sunlight. And even though Superman gains alot of strength from the sun Goku can gather energy from the entire UNIVERSE. And Superman hasn't fought villains near as powerful as the ones Goku has. We've got Frieza who could destroy entire planets with just one finger, Cell who could destroy an entire Solar System, And then there's Majin Buu who's power literally threatened the entire universe. He could teleport anywhere instantly and destroy anything in space and then revert completely unharmed even though his body gets destroyed into molecules.
 
And they forgot GT Goku, his base power would be equal to his SSJ3 form in DBZ. Why? You might ask. Well, Majin Buu was capable of ripping holes between dimensions, and he started out weaker than SSJ3. Gotenks had to go SS3 to be able to do the same thing. In GT, Goku uses a kamehameha to rip a hole between dimensions in his base form. Goku fought General Rildo, who Goku stated was stronger than Majin Buu, and he only had to go SSJ to beat him. In ScrewAttack's Death Battle Preview for Goku, they originally say that they were going to use "every possible source, as long as it doesn't conflict with the official Japanese Manga." Which leads to the conclusion that they shouldn't have missed out the power difference between GT and DBZ Goku. They basically used DBZ Goku, and slapped SSJ4 Goku at the end. But they can't do that because GT and DBZ are completely separate because Goku in DBZ had no tail. This means they can't use SSJ4 for DBZ Goku like they did.
 
This means they should have used Goku's DBZ SS3 stats, and used it as his base form power, and then multiplied it using the SSJ forms. 
 
Which would give you these results:

 Maximum Speed: 1,029,488,912,000 km/hr <
 Maximum Durability: 1.36 septillion MT (136,000,000,000,000,000,000,

Goku actually turns out to be much faster than Superman. His durability is a bit off from Superman’s, but that doesn't mean much due to the fact that they said that his output of Ki is equal to his durability, which means he can just use that power to increase his strength e.g. Dragon Fist which would be easily over Superman's durability level. And Goku's overall combat skills would easily overcome Superman’s strength. And Goku has alot more martial arts skills than Superman, which was not really shown in the Death Battle but was shown in DBZ, which means it would be easy for him to combat Superman's martial arts.

Overall, If ScrewAttack had gone into a bit more research into Goku's and Superman's statistics, they would have realized Goku is a lot more powerful than they made him out to be and that Superman is not as powerful as they made him out to be and that Goku would win.

Honestly though Superman is not as durable as they made him out to be. I feel very sure that Goku's Full Power Kamehameha or Spirit Bomb would easily be over Superman's durability level as well. And honestly Goku is alot more powerful than they made him out to be too. Did they even watch the anime?
