So, as I am sitting here and listening to some really awesome music from my country (Australia), I am wondering what are some good bands/artists from your home country? Indigenous would be great...

 

some indigenous bands/groups from my country are: 

 

Yothu Yindi (best known for their song Yolgnu Boy)

Warrumpi Band (best known for their song My Island Home)

and

Tiddas (not sure what they are best known for)

 

there are probably more, but I can't think of them at the moment

Well, considering that I am from the U.S., Indigenous bands would have to be Native American bands...To be honest, I'm not too familiar with any Native American bands per se, but I do know of a couple Native American musicians, namely Carlos Nakai (of the Navajo and Ute), and Travis Terry (whose Nation I am unsure of). Both play the flute.

One of my favorites from my own country is Trax with one of their songs that's from 1984, and recently the singer John Hatting died.

Where I live we have a man named Matt Mays, he lives in the city right next to me and my dad knew him because they surfed together, Cocaine Cowgirl is still one of my all time favorite songs.
