Suggestion: News Team

News Team is not taking any New Writers currently and will be producing it's first news "print" in the future.  Please stay tuned!! (:

 

Hey so I was talking to Feld0 a while ago, and I never got around to suggesting this yet to everyone but now here it is: my news team suggestion.  Let me just clear some things before I extrapolate...

 

What's the News Team Exactly?: Well it's a team or group of dedicated writers that would write on current topics ranging from interviews with different members of the staff to questions or interviews about changes in mlpforums communicating directly with staff, to issues in the pony world, to real life issues/problems or interesting things.

 

Who is the News Team Exactly?: Well I stated above it would be all the dedicated and passionate writers of mlpforums.  There would also be a need for translators. 

 

How Would the News Team Communicate/Operate?:  Over skype mostly, eventually though I'm hoping (if this gets enough support) maybe a special section in the mlpforums?  For right now it's just an idea so it will just remain as such until there is enough support.

 

Please tell me your thoughts or ideas on this.

 

I would love to get to hear everyone's take on this idea.  Though it's an idea now this "idea" can grow into something big and helpful for the whole forum.  If there are any snags, suggestions or problems with this idea please feel free to speak up constructive criticism is welcome and I would love to get support for this team.  (:

A good suggestion :3 We've had a few scattered topics in GD for interviewing members and staff alike, and other such related community-focused things, but we have yet to have a dedicated, consistent organization for it.

I honestly could do pretty much anything.  I could write for it, I could do art, though I don't know of any other things that could be included in one of these.

That's why I'm very open to suggestions an ideas.  I feel like the team could do more than just artwork and news.  Maybe something with music or events?  I don't know this is still the support/planning phase in which anything is possible.

Something I envision is a live show dedicated to interviews and live discussions with people. I think a news-room sort of thing would be a really awesome addition along with the news team.

Also, being a supporter doesn't mean you have to actually contribute to it in any way.  It just means that you like the idea and would like to see it expand into something more.

With Silver's news room idea...thats a little too far ahead to think about now, for now ,if this happens, it should just remain writing.

Let interviews come in later and a news room at the very latest as it takes dedication and preparation.

As I said, I did writing on a past news team, so if this idea gets off the ground Id be happy to help out with that in free time.

Day 2 people! look alive we got a lot of support yesterday! Let's keep it up!

 

Also do you think the writing staff is getting too big or is that just me?  I feel like it'd be hard to have a writing staff bigger than what we have right now to start off due to different time zones and schedules.  I feel as if we just need support as of right now.  Is it safe to say that or should there be more writers? (not including the music, or art sections)

 

On top of that I will make a skype group that we can all use and add everyone on the staff,  I will send out a PM asking for skype names that way all that there is to do is just replay and I will add you.
