An Old Head 4,816 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 Of course not. The actual clip from The Cutie Mark Chronicles shows that a rock farm is simply about gathering the rocks; there wouldn't be a situation where one fell from above. Pinkie Pie is also perfectly sane; she's undoubtedly the wildest character in the show, sure, but there have been plenty of times where she's shown that she is soundly capable of logical thinking and reasoning. It's just that most of the time, she finds it much more appealing not to follow reason and to simply enjoy what immediately comes by. Perhaps that's why she's incredibly bright - it's a stockpile of the side of her that wants to be analytical that comes out when her zany side is at rest.

You think she hit her head on too many rocks growing up? She did live in a rock farm. So the possibility that she got hit with rocks on her head when she was little is very likely. Her mentality is something else to be discussed. Look at the image below. No, she's just happy all the time. It's also a matter of destiny. Remember how she gained her cutie mark from making other people happy? That's when she realised that her purpose in life was to be a bringer of spirit to others and a source of optimism, to be a pony that everypony else would henceforth associate with a great time. Can you imagine a day to come where people don't accept you for what you're meant to do, what you're destined to do, and above all what you love to do? I'd be just as terrified and heartbroken as Pinkie was. Edited May 10, 2013 by Flipturn ツ
Soundgarden 2,758 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 If we are now discussing whether Pinkie Pie hit her head on rocks during her childhood or not, that means that we are either really bored or that we've officially discussed every single topic there is. Congratulations, forums! Anyways, it's pretty obvious that she didn't hit her head on too many rocks

Congratulations, forums! Anyways, it's pretty obvious that she didn't hit her head on too many rocks Rocks were part of her life as a little filly. The likeliness that she did get hit with rocks is very likely. Maybe that's the reason her body developed a "Pinkie sense" for falling objects. Maybe that's the reason her body developed a "Pinkie sense" for falling objects. Even if she did hit her head on rocks during her childhood, it never gave any consequences. Her happiness (an argument stated before) is obviously not coming from some mental disorder
Fhaolan 4,484 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 You also have to take into account that like Granny Smith's seemingly bizarre antics in Family Appreciation Day, the way Pinkie behaves *works*. She can do stuff that no other pony can, simply because she thinks it's funny. And not just in subtle, 'we didn't see that quite right', but in full blown can *deliberately change the acceleration due to gravity* at will. This becomes a chicken and egg problem: Does Pinkie behave that way because she can consciously manipulate the rules of causality, or does being able to manipulate the rules make her behave that way? Orablanco Account 3,707 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 Oh, it's one of those threads. First of all, this isn't all that original an observation, and secondly, while I get that this is suppose to be amusing speculation, I sometimes get the feeling that people actually think Pinkie has a mental disorder. She has her issues, yes, but she's just a silly pony. Any craziness displayed is done for comedic effect and played up to get a point across. Frankly, this line of discussion is starting to get old. Pinkazoid 3,493 May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 I smashed my head plenty of times when i was little, I never turned out like Pinkie ;-; Maybe it's because i smashed my head in concrete rather than rocks :0 On topic, i don't even see anything wrong with Pinkie for her to be considered "special" she's just adorable, random and adorable ; v ; :

God, while i read the OP post, that's pretty much me, you know the difference between Pinkie and I? Pinkie, through out all of that, is optimistic, cheerful, and supporting. That's where the OP is wrong, she's not one dimensional. if she were one dimensional she'd have one single personality, and the fact that she has a depressing and optimistic side, disproves that. In other words, your argument is invalid. 3 :

The post said that Pinkie's friends thinks she's one-dimensional and brings a good case in favor of that. 1 "The meaning of life? Humans create their own meaning. PinkiePieClone 35 May 11, 2013 Share May 11, 2013 (edited) Heh, interesting way of phrasing the question. In my opinion all of the Mane 6 have their own "issues": Twilight Sparkle is overly organized and set in her ways...not to mention that she has some difficulty socially (though I doubt to the point of Aspergers, like some have said). Fluttershy is extremely shy and timid. Rainbow Dash is impulsive, and possibly overly competitive. She's also a bit on the aggressive side. Applejack is a little dense and stubborn. She's a workaholic, and doesn't know when her body needs a break. Rarity is narcissistic and melodramatic. Pinkie Pie is hyperactive and socially inept. She tends not to know how to take things seriously when the need arises. Obviously these things are only their bad traits, and the Mane 6 are very loveable because they have so many good traits. Actually, even their bad traits can be endearing. Now, when it comes to whether Pinkie Pie "hit her head on a rock", I guess that considering that she was raised on a rock farm, it's possible, but I doubt she would have hit it too hard. She would not be as high functioning if she did. Although brain damage tends to cause different cognitive dysfunctions depending on which part of the brain was damaged, Pinkie Pie is most likely just a happy, fun-loving individual. Also, if you look at the episode about how everyone got their cutie marks, you'll notice that Pinkie was extremely unhappy until she saw said...I believe it was a rainbow. Once she saw it, it struck a chord with her, and she became happy and threw a party for her family. This doesn't seem like a "got hit on the head with a rock" sort of thing. Zygen 6,066 May 11, 2013 Share May 11, 2013 Well sometimes me, although more commonly my brother, can act like Pinkie, but I'm pretty sure neither of us are mentally questionable . So I think shes just a very happy joyous and sometimes crazy pony, nothings gotta be wrong with you to act crazy . Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! kirbyboi 588 May 11, 2013 Share May 11, 2013 Well, no, I wouldn't say she's dumb in any way. It's just her personality, and the rock farm probably had that cheery affect on her to make her want to make ponies smile. Pinkie can be very caring and thoughtful when she needs to...it's just a part of her personality to be quirky, somewhat naive, and to not take MOST things seriously. She's just very cheerful and quirky. She has some common sense, she just doesn't use it!
Thundershock 310 May 11, 2013 Share May 11, 2013 I don't really think that Pinkie Pie hit her head on rocks. It was the rainbow that changed her personality. But about her being really crazy,i guess that rainbow really affected Pinkie. Scootalove 10,689 May 11, 2013 Share May 11, 2013 She didn't really hit her head on rocks when she was growing up. Sure in the show, she is happy all of the time unless something sad happens and she tends to throw a lot of parties. Pinkie Pie isn't one for thinking strongly on things but, she is known for staying completely sane unless she goes completely insane. ManiacForPonies 27 May 12, 2013 Share May 12, 2013 I actually think she is pretty smart. She is just... well... random and likes to do silly things
