Standard User 2,127 May 12, 2013 Share May 12, 2013 (edited) My town has me in it. That makes us pretty cool, I suppose. On a serious note, my town is most known for having the first openly transgender mayor in the United States. He also runs the town theater. What a swell guy. Oh, we also pooed out an astronaut (Don Pettit), a cartoonist (Homer Davenport), and Bobbie the Wonder Dog. Silverhoof 2,844 May 13, 2013 Share May 13, 2013 I moved to Des Moines about 5 years ago for the adventure. Still looking for adventure. Corn is king in this state. and Iowa is the hog capital of earth-we produce more pork than anywhere. The state is one big farm. anyplace that is not farmland has a little town on it. Campgrounds are bizarre. they are a fenced off patch surrounded by...farms. --and did I mention, farms? Oh, and I see the Pentagon daily. I also get a leg up in mocking candidates come election time. no rest for the wizardly.
Raiden21 804 May 14, 2013 Share May 14, 2013 I live in a Southern California city called Covina. It's a nice suburb, when people from Azusa and Baldwin Park aren't causing trouble but so far things have been calm. Some cool things is that they filmed 2 scenes from the movie Wayne's World here and some episodes of Knight Rider were filmed here as well. Thank you for the signature Jenny Wakeman. stainesbrony 219 May 17, 2013 Share May 17, 2013 Staines-upon-Thames. Fun facts: It was originally called Staines. It was renamed because of the bad publicity we (supposedly, according to the council) get because of Ali G. Also, Ali G says he is from Staines. Also, we are twinned with Port Mauritius and are very close to Thorpe Park, home of England's 2nd highest Rollercoaster (Stealth), and home of the world's only ride based off a horror film (SAW: The Ride) STOP READING THIS SIGNATURE!
