"Get out of this place?" Amour asked in surprise. "It seems pretty nice to me, but then again I'm a tourist." she laughed. She got the vibe that the mare didn't really want to pursue the issue, so she just ordered instead of blurting out a dumb joke to make her laugh or something.

 

"I'll have the cinnamon strudel," Who was she kidding? She could never let anything go! "Listen, babe. If you need to talk, feel free. I'm going to be here for awhile, because I like to pig out, so if you need to vent. I'm here." She said smiling. "Ooh! And a caramel coffee, that sounds delicious!"

Curious was about to take his first bite into his breakfast when he heard a loud crash, the sound of glass breaking. Specifically, this glass was the glass door of Mystic's balcony. "Is it Windy again? How clumsy can one stallion be?"

 

Trotting into the kitchen, however, was not Windy. In fact, it wasn't even a stallion. No, it was a pegasus mare with a distinctive scarlet coat. Well, at least, it was distinctive to Curious. "Brother! Finally! I mean, really, how could you just take the first boat you could find out of Equestria?"

 

Curious looked upon the new mare in abject horror. "Scarlet! Look, it's quite sim—"

 

"And who is this?" Scarlet said as she noticed Mystic, looking at her with an eyebrow raised inquisitively.

"uh, hi, I'm Mystic Dawn, Curious' marefriend. and you are...?"

mystic spoke as she looked around her kitchen to find something to clean up the shattered glass off of the floor. she found a dustpan and brush and used her magic to sweep up all of the glass

Cuppie smile but her eyes were sad as she turn and trotted to the kitchen, cinnamon reminded her of the events of the night before and it made her sad to think that just a few hours ago everything was ok. And now Dogboots probably hated her and her life wasn't going anywhere fast. When she pulled studel out of the oven it was burnt to a crisp. Strange. So she made another one but this time the filling leaked out, the third time the inside didn't cook all the way and by the fourth try she flipped the tray of burnt strudel in frustration

 

What's wrong with me? Am I losing it?

 

She looked over to the jar of cinnamon eyeing it temptingly.

 

Just one spoon full and it could go away.

 

She shook her head no no she would not give up that easily. Then a thought occurred to her and she grabbed a rag scrubbing down the kitchen floor to be safe she also put a few sheets of parchment paper down as well. She then proceeded in making the strudel slower this time taking care to roll out the dough more evenly and folded in the sides of the studel so the filling wouldn't run and when she removed it from the oven it was a delicious golden brown cooked to perfection.

Trotting out of the kitchen setting the plate and mug on the table and sitting at it across from thw mare, "hi, my name is Cuppie Cake what's yours?"

Scarlet stared at Mystic, and then turned her head suddenly to Curious, her right eye twitching, "A MAREFRIEND? Really? Really, Curious? Less than a week in Sydneigh and you've already gone and broken your promise! Did you even stop for one second to consider Gardenia? You know, that mare you left in tears, the one you promised to come back for?" Scarlet let out a frustrated sound, something along the lines of "hrragh".

 

Curious tugged at his scarf, cleared his throat, and tried to keep his eyes from meeting his sister's, "well... technically I haven't broken that promise... I mean, I never specified when we would meet again, and—"

 

Scarlet interrupted, "Though, I must admit Mystic here is pretty cute, but—" Scarlet stomped her hoof on the ground, "really, I never expected you, brother, to go and hook up with some mare in the span of a few days. I expected better from you."

 

Curious put a hoof to his face, "Sister! Could we really talk about this later? You kind of interrupted us in the middle of our breakfast. And—" Curious pointed to the shards of glass Mystic was sweeping, "you broke her door. That was incredibly rude."

"I'll just..uh put these pieces of glass away"

she quickly left her apartment and hid in a closet under the stairs, she held back the dam long enough until her eyes started to water, before long, turned into full crying

Scarlet found where Mystic was hiding easily enough, the small closet underneath the stairs. She put her ear up to the door and heard sobbing. She knocked on the door and said, "Mystic, darling. I'm sorry, I didn't consider the situation. Look, I am sure whatever you are fearing is far worse than what actually happened, so please, stop crying."

 

Curious trotted out of the apartment and went up to Scarlet.

"you don't understand, before I met curious, I was silent, dark, shady, and even at times cold. he added brightness to my life, warmed my heart, showed me affection, everything I always wanted, I just don't want to lose this happiness that I've felt for the first time in my life. the more I think about it, the more of a complete idiot I sound like"

'goddesses, I'm finally off that boat. my leg is getting cramped from standing to long.' rouge had thought to him self while checking his saddle bag for his "art" supplies. 'well if im going to get settled down i guess i need a place to live, huh?' after walking around for about three hours and his hooves trying to kill him, rouge looks around to see if he could ask somepony for directions.

"Well, hello Cuppie!" Amour said smiling brightly. "I'm Amour, and oh my Celestia that looks delicious! It's almost too pretty to eat!" She said, as she raised the strudel to her mouth with her magic. She winked at Cuppie, "Almost." And bit into the strudel, relishing every bit.

 

She stopped abruptly and dabbed at her mouth with a napkin. "Oh gosh, I must look like such a pig right now!" she giggled. "Want some?" She asked, breaking the strudel in half and taking a sip of her drink.

Cuppie watched as the unicorn ate content that she had gotten the recipe right, all day customer's orders have been off either slightly burnt or still frozen. She let out a sigh of relief glad to see that she had finally gotten something right, "haha, no I can't I'm allergic and I just got my stomach pumped last night so no thank you."

Dogboots wandered around the city aimlessly. The stallion really had no idea where he was going and he wanted to keep it that way. He had confessed his feelings towards the mare he loved and she didn't say anything. The only thing he had done was embarrass himself and make her feel awkward.

after wandering around looking for somepony that would give him some form of directions to find a place to live, rouge had seen a brown haired blue eyed stallion walking tword him "hey dude, yea hey my name is rouge wind and i was wondering around here looking for a place to crash. you wouldn't know where i could find a place to do you?" he asked almost desperately.

"I guess you're right, I better get ready"

he unwrapped himself from the bed covers and trotted towards the bathroom, turning on the shower and climbing in

'this is it, big guy. today we're gonna get into the big league, and earn more money than I ever thought'

he turned off the water and dried off before going into the kitchen and making breakfast for both him and Vinyl he placed the pancakes on two trays before strolling back into his room

"here you go, gorgeous"

"Mmm... Breakfast in bed. Thanks sweetheart, you're the best." Vinyl smiled up at Windy and kissed him. "I can't wait to see my handsome stallion in a suit. And remember to not turn into an evil business pony. I'd hate to have to kill ya," she said, giggling. Then she started eating. "Mmm... They're so good!"

"More than likely he's new here, might as well tell him,"

 

"Head 5 blocks south until you see the bakery, once you do go 3 blocks west and you'll see two apartment complexes. If you end up at the docks then you've gone too far," He said giving Rouge instruction.

Vinyl got up and showered, then dried off and fixed her mane. After a little while, she left and started walking to Mystic's apartment. When she got there, she saw Curious and some other mare standing by Mystic's closet outside. "Curious, where's Mystic and who the hell is this??" She then heard the sobbing from the closet. "Is that...? What the hell did you do to her??"

Rouge was about to protest but thought better of it "okay but it isn't good to keep what ever it is that's makes you that sad inside. But any way thanks for the directions and I may see you around." Rouge said as he started to fly twords the bakery 'duuude, I could go for a trottingham muffin about now. Rouge made it into the bakery and saw the mare-clerk talking to another mare " no thanks I'm allergic..." the mare-clerk said. Rouge walked over and said as polite as equinely possable "excuse me miss?"

Cuppie looked up recognizing the voice but when she saw it was just another stallion her face fell, this city was making her feel more and more guilty and homesick by the minute and she didn't like it. She was even mistaking strangers voices for her older brother Pound Cake. "Oh, um, yes? Can I help you?" The words were forced she didn't feel like helping anypony right now but she kept her expression cool and collected.

Cuppie bit her lip trying to think never having been to trottingham herself trying to recipe she didn't know was quite hard, "uh, I don't think we serve those here sir. Is there anything else you'd like?" Trottingham sounded like a good place to go next it was in her home country of Equestria and the place sounded so reagal. It was settled she was going to trottingham the only thing next was to decide how to get there. " and no I have no idea where anything is I can barely find the bakery sometime Im sorry I can't be of any help."

Volt had realized he had forgotten his saddlebag at the bakery and had gone back to get it. He heard the conversation between Cuppie and the new pony and went over to them. "Um, I know where the art supply store is. I pass on my way home. I can take you there if you want. I was going home anyway." He smiled at Rouge. "Oh sorry, my name's Volt Switch. Volt is fine, though."

He said a farewell to Cuppie before they left. "The store's just up the street and my apartment's around the corner. I don't think there's any room left though." He looked at Rouge's distraught look after hearing his words. "But um... you can room with me if you want. I don't really know anypony here, so I'm entirely fine with it."
