I stole this idea from Moog.
You tell me what album you want to review and I'll review. There will be five slots open, after that I won't take anymore until I've finished writing all five reviews. I'll accept ALMOST anything, and it would be nice if you gave me a link to the full album.

I'll listen to the album in its entirety, then I'll write a review for it and post it here. There's an example below that I wrote. (Note, I originally wrote it as a blog entry.)

img-1551798-1-Lunar%20Strain.jpg
For once, I'm actually reviewing an album that I really like, by a band I'm familiar with. (Even though I hate their newer stuff. Seriously, I've tried listening to Come Clarity at least five times now and I still think it fucking sucks.) But anyways, this is definantly my favorite album by In Flames. It's got that brutal raw edge of early Swedish death metal mixed with this sorta melodic sound and even a few acoustic pieces. The guitar is killer, not just killer but fucking killer. It's all downtuned and distorted, it just screams badass. And then theirs the vocals, oh man. The vocals on this album are better than the vocals on any other In Flames album (and the vocals on their newer stuff are shitty).

My favorite song of this 90's masterpiece would either be Clad in Shadows or In Flames. They're both killer tracks, but I can say the same for every song of this album. The acoustic pieces are excellent and done very well. The way they're done makes it fit in with the rest of the song, fucking briliant. To date, this is In Flames' heaviest sounding album.

If you're looking to get into In Flames' music, I highly recommend that you pick this album up. Pick this one up before any of the others. You will not regret it, trust me. This album is amazing, and it's the best album In Flames has ever made.

Track listing:

1. Behind Space
2. Clad in Shadows
3. Lunar Strain
4. Starforsaken
5. Dreamscape
6. Everlost (Part I)
7. Everlost (Part II)
8. Hargalaten
9. In Flames
10. Upon an Oaken Throne
11. In Flames (1993 Promo Version)
12. Upon an Oaken Throne (1993 Promo Version)
13. Acoustic Piece (1993 Promo Version)
14. Clad in Shadows (1993 Promo Version)

I'll also write more serious sounding reviews this time around, as well as give a number rating and not use the "f word".

Random Access Memories by Daft Punk

Random Access Memories by Daft Punk (2013)
img-1551798-2-220px-Random_Access_Memori

I'm going to start off by saying that I'm not very familiar with Daft Punk, and that I had no idea what to expect. Actually, I was expecting to sit through an entire 75 minute slugfest of boredom. Except, I was wrong. Very wrong actually, RAM is far from boring. It may be different from what I would normally listen to, but I still liked it. It was very interesting, the opening track "Give Life Back to Music" took me by surprise. I was expecting random noises and crap but it was this mix of different things. That's the best way to describe this album, as a mix of different things. It's random, but in a not so random way. I think the way these guys blended all these element of funk and even disco was very well structured. Through out the album I was craving a variety of different things for some reason. I remeber at one point I was in the mood for The Velvet Underground, then it was Iggy & the Stooges and then it was Alice in Chains. My favorite song off this album would be the closing track, "Contact".

This album isn't exactly something I would listen to in my freetime, but I wouldn't mind listening to it every now and then.
Overall: 3.5/5

The Wall by Pink Floyd

The Wall by Pink Floyd (1979)

img-1551798-3-220px-PinkFloydWallCoverOr

I've had a bit of exposure to Pink Floyd before. I even have an old Dark Side of the Moon CD. So I did know what to expect from this album. I have listened to DSOTM a couple of times before and I'll say that I like this album more. I just thought that there was more on The Wall than there was on Dark Side of the Moon. What that "more" is, I don't know. I listened through the whole thing with no problem. I never had a moment where I thought it was boring, I enjoyed it from the first second until the end. I enjoyed the accoustic piece "Mother" quite a bit and I'd say that my favorite song off this album would be "In the Flesh". I slaso thought the psychedlic aptmosphere of it was great, it felt tripy. I might of even blanked out for a few moments.

I'd say this is an album that I enjoyed and that I would listen to every now and then on my freetime.

My Demons by Distance

My Demons by Distance (2007)

img-1551798-4-333.jpg

This is my first time listening to this type of music, so I didn't know what to expect. I actually don't know what to say about it. I think the bass is nice but that's all I can say. My opinion on this album leans towards neutral positive. I wouldn't mind having this in the background but it's not something that I would blast out of a stereo at max volume. I'm neutral positive with this album because I like the bass, it's nice.

This is an album that I wouldn't mind having in the background.

Overall: 3/5

Track Listing:

1. Night Vision
2. My Demons
3. Weigh Down

Claustration I by Vomir

Claustration 1 by Vomir (2007)

img-1551798-5-R-150-1305991-1208197789.j

There's no other way to describe this, it's just noise. It sounds just like when you stick your head out of the window of a car, and it's like that for an hour. I started playing this and I forgot all about it, so it serves as good background music. I sat through the whole thing, and unlike Monstercat this is actually enjoyable to a mild extent. Monstercat is awful noise, this is art.

Track Listing:

1. Clausteration I

I would probably put this in the background, just for the lulz.

Overall: 3/5

South of Heaven by Slayer

South of Heaven by Slayer (1988)

img-1551798-6-220px-Slayer_South_of_Heav

Unlike my previous reviews, I'm very familiar with Slayer. I'm a huge fan of Slayer, actually. South of Heaven has a more melodic sound compared to it's predecessors. You can easily tell just by listening to Tom Araya's vocals. Songs like "Silent Scream" and "Spill the Blood" are almost in a way proto-melodic death metal. That's the kinda of vibe this album gives me. The distortion on the guitars sound nice and Dave Lombardo's drumming is top-notch. Although, I do prefer previous Slayer albums like Reign in Blood and Show No Mercy over South of Heaven. South of Heaven is in a way, Reign in Blood's more melodic and more docile counterpart.

Track Listing:

1. "South of Heaven"

2. "Silent Scream"
3. "Live Undead"
4. "Behind the Crooked Cross"
5. "Mandatory Suicide"
6. "Ghosts of War"
7. "Read Between the Lies"
8. "Cleanse the Soul"
9. "Dissident Aggressor"
10. "Spill the Blood"

This is an album I do enjoy in my spare time.

Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins

Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins (1991)

img-1551798-7-220px-SmashingPumpkins-Sia

The last time I listened to this album was a while back, so this is a nice refresher. If there's one thing I like about Siamese Dream, it's their use of fuzz. They sure did give their Bigmuffs the maximum output. The song "Cherub Rock" starts of quiet and then BOOM, fuzz. This is a very fuzzy album, there's no arguing that. It safe to say that I enjoyed every song off of this album. My only gripe with this album is how long it feels. At 62 minutes, it's fairly lengthy but it feels like something that's at least 80 minutes. My favorite song off this album is "Cherub Rock", "Today" and "Geek U.S.A." are also some of my favorites.

Track Listing:

1. "Cherub Rock"
2. "Quiet"
3. "Today"
4. "Hummer"
5. "Rocket"
6. "Disarm"
7. "Soma"
8. "Geek U.S.A."
9. "Mayonaise"
10. "Spaceboy"
11. "Silverfuck"
12. "Sweet Sweet"
13. "Luna"

This is an album that I would listen to every now and then

Overall: 4.5/5

Rage Against the Machine by Rage Against the Machine

Rage Against the Machine by Rage Against the Machine (1992)

img-1551798-8-220px-RageAgainsttheMachin

Rage Against the Machine are one of the very few bands that can combine rapping and distorted guitar riffs, and not sound like garbage. This album proves that, the way Zack raps is very well done. He delivers really well thought out lyrics and he's and all around great vocalist. I also think Tom does a great job on guitar. If there's one thing I like about RATM, it's Tom's ability to get really funky and creative with a guitar. I do have a couple of minor gripes with this album. The first one is that the album feels a bit short, it's 52 minutes it shouldn't feel so short. I also don't think it's as great as some people say it is.

Track Listing:

1. "Bombtrack"
2. "Killing in the Name"
3. "Take the Power Back"
4. "Settle for Nothing"
5. "Bullet in the Head"
6. "Know Your Enemy"
7. "Wake Up"
8. "Fistful of Steel"
9. "Township Rebellion"
10. "Freedom"

Overall 4/5

This is an album I would listen to on occasion.

The Seer by Swans

The Seer by Swans (2012)

220px-Swans_The_Seer_album.jpg

Going into my review I just want to say that this is by far the longest album that I've reviewed.  Not one but THREE songs on here go beyond the 15 minute mark. In fact, the tittle track is 32 minutes long. This is a really hard album to describe. I guess the best way to describe it would be Avant-Garde. It's very dark, very noisy, very mysterious. The way this album starts off is very slow but, then it kicks up to speed. Once it kicked up to speed, I was able to start enjoying it. I think it's safe to say that I enjoyed the second half of this album more than the first.

Track Listing:

DISC 1
1. "Lunacy"
2. "Mother of the World"
3. "The Wolf"
4. "The Seer"
5. "The Seer Returns"
6. "93 Ave. B Blues"

7. "The Daughter Brings the Water"

DISC 2

8. "Song for a Warrior"
9. "Avatar"
10. "A Piece of the Sky"
11. "The Apostate"

Overall 4/5
This is an album I may listen to in my free time.

Cool idea, I actually thought about doing this myself. So the album I'm really curious to hear your thoughts on would be this one right here. I'm sure you've already heard tracks off Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, as its been hyped and has landed #1 in dozens of countries.

I fucking knew someone would post RAM. So, Monstercat released their album "Aftermath". Let's see what you think about it, (even though I know you dislike this sort of stuff. :| )

Dawn making reviews? Good lord, I'm going to have a good time

You should review Come Clarity Crooks & Lovers by Mount Kimbie. I've been mentioning that album a whole lot lately, it's my favorite Post-Dubstep album ever. It's quite the experience and very unique

I couldn't find the full album on Youtube, but I did find a playlist though. Just click on the video title, and look to the right for a playlist

I hope doing that isn't too much of a hassle

Hey don't hate, I've waited 7 years for a proper studio album from Daft Punk, since they are one of my favorite groups ever. I'm curious on whatever people think of the album.

I never said I hated it.... I very much enjoy RAM, it is just cliche to me that someone would post it. (seeing as it's gained a lot of attention and definitely is no-where near incognito.)

I got some harshness from your post, my bad. Nah I knew even if I didn't do it somebody else would, but I've been stuck to the album like glue since it came out. The entire thing is golden to me right now.

Oh well, if there's a slot available, I'd like you too review "Furious Lolicore!!!". It's a more of a co-lab EP featuring 3 different artists, but are you okay with that?

There's only a playlist available on Youtube, but it's easy to access. Click on the link and click on the second result (or the first, depending if you get an ad video as the first result. In that case: The first playlist you see). That's the entire album
