Help in making artwork.

Hello my names Sylwester and im a 15 year old brony. And i really feel like doing something for the brony community! I have tried Fanfic's... but i received lots of hate.(Jeez what happened to Love and Tolerate), i was thinking, ''Heck why not make some artwork, start a OC ask Tumblr channel or something(I have had so many ideas for my OC and that :) ) And i come here to ask you, my fellow bronies(and pegasisters). What are the good programs for making artwork, like to make basic art, and then maybe animations. Easy to use. And most hopefully cheap or free. You can tell me the not so cheap ones too.

I really feel like i wish to thank and be a bigger part of our great community that i have been into for almost a year already. The reason why i think art is because i really like to draw things on paper and stuff. And i find it harder to do this kinda stuff on a computer.(At least with the programs i have).

I already tried Photoshop. And didn't really like it. Im also a Mac user. So i would hope for programs that are capable with Mac. But im getting a normal Windows PC sometime. So i guess you can also tell me the programs for Windows. So please help out here? *BROHOOF* /)

Well, one of my friends is making some animations with Windows Movie Maker. I personally am using Gimp for the art on Ask Iron Dash, and I'm getting better every day. Once I'm good with that I'll be making animation "puppets" with Gimp and exporting frames that way. So there's that bit of advice img-1379355-5-xtWXQl1.png

Is Gimp easy to use for a beginner? Or does it take a long time to understand it? And is it free? And could you show me a link to your artwork if you posted any so far?

Gimp is free and  (to me) fairly intuitive. A few online tutorials are usually very helpful. I usually take a picture of something I drew and edit it from there. So I can go from this
