Mare in the Moon 173 February 15, 2012 Share February 15, 2012 a good show is a good show, and MLP: FiM is one of the best I've ever seen, so why should I or anypony else be embarrassed about liking it? That was one of the arguements I was having with one of the friends I told. Its GOOD. Its not any of those randomly-stupid shows that everyone is into nowadays. One of the first shows I have seen in a long time that MAKES SENSE, and has a little bit of everything you want (laughter, sadness, seriousness, cuteness, Epicness, etc.) It may come in a frilly package, but its good nonetheless (And after a while, the "Frilly"ness isnt even a factor anymore) 2 Finally committed my first name change. Stoner Spike 185 February 15, 2012 Share February 15, 2012 Ive been working out everyday since I became a brony (for about 2 years strait) for things like this. Now Ive got big guns and almost a six pack. COME AT ME HATERZ!!! Looks like I'm not the only one that felt he needed to make up for liking MLP in some way. "Yes. I like ponies. Spew all the trash you want, and when you're done, screw off." Yo Applejack... Y'alright?

83awsm 234 February 15, 2012 Share February 15, 2012 I was a bit confused when I first started watching it, but I knew about the fanbase prior, so didn't feel too embarrassed knowing there was a whole community in the same demographic out there enjoying the show. I still haven't told any of my friends IRL, but I joined a meetup group and hanging out with fellow bronies is awesome So in the end there's nothing to be embarrassed about, there's this whole fanbase who loves the show just as much as the next fan of whatever more masculine program alternative there is. You’ll learn to embrace it with time. Awesomeness = at least 20% Cooler.
Tailssod 20 February 15, 2012 Share February 15, 2012 People are just too afraid to show what they really like, I overcame it some years ago, so, liking MLP is not a big deal at all... I'm 25 and converted almost all my close friends to watch... People from university too, haha. MLP is awesome in too many ways, so I don't really see why that became a problem in the first place

chef sanders 101 February 16, 2012 Share February 16, 2012 I used to be concerned about what people would think if they knew I watch MLP. Nowadays I go to school wearing this http://luigiman29.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4pfvw3 Needless to say I got admiration from my school's closeted bronies. Sheogorath 1,155 February 16, 2012 Share February 16, 2012 (edited) Yeah, I was so baffled at this thread that I drew a pony in my uncertainty I am unsure if this is a troll thread or are people really genuinely this stupid and petty? It is a cartoon! It is not like you had sex with the house pet for Celestia's sake! Edited February 16, 2012 by Pencils

It is a cartoon! It is not like you had sex with the house pet for Celestia's sake! Social stigmas, Watson. Read and weep. Maybe people are more accepting there, but here in Alabama and at my high school, people would react to the two as if watching the cartoon was halfway to having sex with the house pet. Kids at high schools are horribly immature, they'd be sure I was gay (which by the way is something like "evil" to them) if I said anything, and I'd never hear the end of it. It's not "Welcome to the South", it's "Welcome to High School". But the fact that it's both doesn't help the case any. I'm hoping people will be more mature at college in Utah. Because I'm sooo putting a Rainbow Dash poster or something MLP in my dorm, right next to the moon landing and a Saturn V launch and some other aerospace stuff It'll be a thrill for my roommate, whatever the case XD EDIT: Btw; Awesome drawing skills! I really want to learn to use Inkscape. But I don't have time for it. Speaking of which AGH! Need to get back to homework! Ezynell 2,037 February 16, 2012 Share February 16, 2012 Yes, when you first come "out of the stable" a few of your friends (the ones that aren't completely there) will probably try to pick on you for it, and try to make you feel out of place in situations. Remember that it's not how other people represent you, it's how you react to other peoples presentations that defines you. For example, don't let them feel ashamed. Be proud about it when you try to point it out. There are plenty of articles on the internet telling why being part of this community is a good thing. Even Lauren Faust the creator of it speaks up. RippedOffMattress 314 February 17, 2012 Share February 17, 2012 It'll wear off eventually. Believe me, I'm a 15 year old 8th grader. Most of my friends are displeased with my bronyness, (a couple do pick on me a little for it) but I quickly got over that. The point is, we've all felt embarrassed at a point, but it's quick recovery. Formally known as Misselaineous97.

TwilightStarshot 8 February 3, 2013 Share February 3, 2013 If your friends would pick on you for liking a TV show, they aren't very good friends. But more to the point, I felt the same way for a bit but my friends know now and they don't care. It will probably eventually go away.
SkyGust 72 February 4, 2013 Share February 4, 2013 I was just like you, but I learned somthing soon. Watching this show made me happy, and if anyone didnt like it, I dont care. Its your life, not thiers. Now, Im not saying run around the hall at school saying "I LOVE MY LITTLE PONY" but if someone ever found out, dont lie. Be proud to be your own person and do what you like.
