Unlike Skycoaster and Bubble, Pondah didn't have anywhere important to be that warranted turning in at the time. "If everypony else is turning in, I may as well," ​Pondah said. He addressed Bubble before continuing. "I'll go with you back to the hotel if it isn't too much of an inconvenience. I'll be sleeping near the hotel so, if we go together, you don't have to be as bored on the way back."

 

'Sleeping near the hotel? You're practically sleeping on the hotel!'

"Thank you Ponder! I don't exactly remember the way here. I think I went through some gardens at one point...?" Bubble shrugged: she could remember that it had been a lot of fun, but not much else about the journey there. "I bet you know the way back though: I've not gotten lost yet when I've been with you, even without drawing places!"

 

Turning and waving a hoof much more casually that the excitable manner she normally would, the mare said goodbye to the two pegasi and the extravegant hotel, miraculously heading in the right direction towards her hotel.

"I'm probably gonna hang out for the night and go to bed late. Oh, that burger was good." Thunder Dash said. He then stretched. "Who wants to head over to the Baltimare Bar with me? I heard that the live band over there are allowing sit-ins for musicians." Thunder Dash said.

Pondah had to leap out of his seat to keep up with Bubble and her pace. He barely had time to give his goodbyes before Bubble left the hotel. After a small trot, Pondah caught up and responded. "I can guess the way back..." ​Pondah replied. "I guessed the way here and can sort of remember the way. We just need to get high up and go from there."

"High? We could go to the top of the hotel? That would be pretty high..." She trailed off and grinned to herself. "... I guess we wouldn't be allowed on the roof though."

 

This part of the city was better lit than where her hotel was situated: there were more interesting things to look at in the windows, the shops seemed to have fancier things for sale and the lights were brighter and more colourful. It was just dawning on Bubble how much different it actually was: despite not being so far away at all.

Pondah thought for a moment about other high places. "You're right," ​Pondah agreed. "We may not even be allowed in the hotel as we aren't paying customers." ​  He continued thinking before a perfect solution dawned on him. "I've got it!" ​Pondah exclaimed, hitting himself with a hoof. "On our race here, I climbed a rather large hill that gave me a great view. It's not far from here."

 

​Trotting ahead of Bubble, Pondah beckoned to Bubble for her to follow. "Come on, I know the way," ​Pondah shouted.

Rut-Light was exhausted from the time he spent with his boss and friend, as soon as he opened the door to his home sweet home he immediately shut the door and collapsed on the couch.

As Rut-Light awoke, he remembered that today was one of those special days for him; a day of from work and to be honest he was very happy because he rarely got these types of days and when he did he tried to enjoy them.  Today was no exception though.

It was finally morning as Caramel got up from her bed. Yawning, she shook her frizzled mane and proceeded towards the door. After she had went into the halls, she walked up tiredly to Ember's room and knocked courteously, "Time to rise and shine Ember! Gotta hop outta bed so we can get goin!" Caramel rubbed her eyes and yawned again as she waited for a response.

Hearing the knock at his door pulled Ember out of his sleep, blinking and looking around.  Wh-Where am I?  Oh yeah, Baltimare...  Stifling a yawn he called out "Be right there!" as he gathered up his things.  Ember had always been rather oblivious to his personal appearance, so it took him only a few seconds to be ready to head out the door.  He secured his saddlebags while sleepily trotting towards the door...  Before smacking into the door face first.

 

"Ouch!  I am so not a morning pony..."  The young stallion moaned as he opened his door, rubbing his face with a hoof as he smiled at Caramel.  "Heh heh, mornin'.  Big day today!  I can tell ya about my big plan over breakfast."

Caramel laughed at Ember and patted him on the back. She then patted her mane back down, "Sounds good to me partner. I think I'm ready for a mean fixin myself." Her stomach growled. "So er...to the diner or...?" Caramel looked at him hungrily, not exactly aware of how things worked in the city.

Slowly, Sunny drifted out of sleep and into consciousness. Opening her eyes, she looked around drowsily. She was curled up next to Candy in the bed of her apartment. She didn't remember going to bed. The last thing she did remember from last night was cuddling with Candy and hearing her say that she loved her too. She figured she must have dozed off around that time. Candy must have levitated her here afterward. 

She yawned and looked at Candy. She looked peaceful asleep, so much so that Sunny didn't want to wake her, but she also wanted to be the first thing Candy saw when she woke up. She gently shook the mare's shoulder and murmured, "Morning, beautiful. Today's weather forecast? Cloudy if you frown, rainy if you cry, clear if you're happy, and sunny if you smile."

Candy awoke, already smiling at the sound of Sunny's voice, but she giggled at the mare's words. Still smiling, she murmured back, "I'll take my Sunshine, please." She leaned over and pecked Sunny's lips. "It's good to see you." She said lazily, yet happily at the same time. Following that was a yawn with a squeak at the end of it.

Sunny beamed back at Candy, giggling at her response.
"I should get you to smile more often. I like sunny days," she teased, then gave Candy a slightly shy smile, turning more sincere. "But the best part would be seeing that beautiful grin that much more often."

Candy responded with a flattered giggle, that she failed to try to suppress. She looked expectantly at her marefreind, leaning in to kiss her neck, and tiredly sighing as she rested her head closer to the mare. "What's planned for today, love?" She snuggled up closer to the mare.

Sunny smiled again and cuddled with Candy happily.

"I'm not much of a planner, so whatever you want to do, sweetie," she started, and giggled a bit as she realized how hungry she was. "But I suggest we start with breakfast. Any requests?" she asked, leaning her head to rest on Candy's.

Candy moved her head and turned away to yawn again, "Hm..." she chuckled, "...well, I could just eat you up. Cutie." She said as she rubbed her nose against Sunny's. "I'll let you choose breakfast...I'm not feeling picky." She grinned happily, "I just wanna be with you when we eat!" 

 

A part of her was now annoying herself, but she didn't show it. Still, she thought that she must sound quite stupid how she overdoes the sweet talk sometimes, but she couldn't help it. As old as she thought it may be by now, she couldn't help but not to do it, because she always meant it.

 

"Cutie...cute." she murmured, "Isn't that the first thing I called you when we met? Cute?" She chuckled, "Well, I was right, that's for sure."

Obligatory fast forward, time skip and catchup post to free Bubble and Pondah from their broken dimension of time!

 

After a surprisingly long journey, Bubble eventually found her way back to the hotel she recognised. Wishing her friend goodnight with a fond hug and smile, it wasn't until she was back in her room and writing another letter to send to her sister in the morning that something clicked in her mind.

 

"Ponder doesn't have any money... Where is he supposed to be sleeping? I didn't see any other hotels close to mine but he said he had to go this way too..."

 

Flicking an ear, she continued to mumble the thoughts out loud.

 

"... but sky said he had room for somepony to stay and Ponder still came back this way. That doesn't even make sense!"

 

She mulled over the thoughts for a while longer before getting distracted and returning to her letter. She considered writing to tell Cinder about how she had ruined the notebook, but didn't. Rolling up the paper ready to be sent by the grumpy unicorn in reception the next morning, she curled up in bed and flicked through the remaining pages documenting her sisters 'weather machine' before falling asleep.

​After receiving a particularly tight hug from Bubble when she left, Pondah began to wonder towards his grassy verge. His map of the surrounding area was now of a fairly good standard meaning he could reach his night spot in a shorter time than ever. When he arrived, Pondah found the soft spot, lay down and drifted to sleep.

 

​PREPARE TO ENTER FAST-FORWARD TIME JUMP IN 3... 2... 1... 

 

​The sun's rays coated the hills with fiery embrace as the light of the world returned. As its shine covered Pondah, his eyes flicked open. As he was pointing towards the sun, he moved a hoof in front of his eyes to shield them. After a few seconds awake, Pondah rose to his hooves and began to wonder towards some nearby bushes. They contained similar berries to the ones from the park that he had gorged on the day before.

 

'Day 3 in Baltimare. Let's see what today brings.'​  ​  Pondah thought as he plucked at the berries.

Thunder Dash woke early. He had so many plans today. He decided to go outside to see who he could find. As he was walking by some nearby bushes, he noticed Pondah picking some berries. "Hey Pondah! Those berries look delicious! Mind if I take some?" Thunder Dash asked.

Pondah flinched as a voice called from beyond the shrubbery. He peeked out and noticed that it was Thunder from the day before. After a sigh of relief, Pondah replied. "Go for it,"  he said. "It's not like they're mine. I've been seeing them all over this town and thankfully, they taste nice. Quite a bit of juice though."

 

​Now that another pony was interested in taking some of the berries, Pondah took a few steps away from the foliage to leave more space.

"Thanks!" Thunder Dash said as he built up electricity. He then used it to pluck off several berries and placed them into his bag. "Sp, any major plans for today Pondah? I plan to go to the Baltimare Bar, where small local bands play. They even let some musicians sit in and solo over some parts of their songs!" Thunder Dash said as he used his electricity to pluck off a few more berries.

Pondah stared with awe at Thunder's electrickery. Even though he'd seen it before, the sight of the pegasus' powers still surprised him. Thunder's question snapped Pondah out of his trance and, in slightly muted tones, he replied. "I don't have anything planned today. Or the next day. Or the one after that. I don't have plans for the future. Even if I made them, I don't know enough about what's going on to make any. All I know is that there's a lot of music stuff going on right now and that isn't my sort of thing."

 

​After stopping to take a breath, Pondah resumed foraging for berries in a bush further away from Thunder. During this, he noticed his mane was dangling along side him, getting stuck in the bush. He rectified his hairy problem by wrapping his mane around his neck, recreating the mane-scarf-storage from tbe day before.

Thunder Dash picked the ammount of berries he wanted and then gathered more electricity. He then teleported off to somewhere. A "poof" could be heard. He arrived near the bar and loitered around there for a little while. He wondered where the others were.

Despite it being fairly quiet when Thunder teleported, the 'poof' still managed to make Pondah jump. He turned his head to see some scatters of dust where Thunder once stood.

 

'Hmph. That was abrupt. He could've at least said bye.'

 

With a stomach full of berries, Pondah began a slow canter back into the edge of the town center. After a few minutes, he spotted a bench in what appeared to be a rather tranquil area. Pondah took a seat on the isolated bench and noticed how dusty he had become in the night. Brushing off the dust, Pondah began to feel relaxed in the cool breeze of the quiet spot.

Ember smiled and nodded, making sure his saddlebags were secure one last time.  "Yeah, I think I remember seein' a cafe nearby that looked pretty clean...  And hopefully not too expensive!"  He looked at the mare and grinned, a couple small sparks jumping out of his broken horn as he started walking with her towards the cafe.

 

As they got to the cafe and found an open table, Ember leaned over the table with a wide grin.  "So!  You wanna hear the idea I had?"  The excitable stallion tried to flatten out the crumpled paper he had been writing on as he went to sleep last night, the parchment mostly covered in almost indecipherable scrawls and numbers.  "Well, I promised a nice mare that I would demonstrate some of my fireworks for her.  I still plan to go through with that, since a promise is a promise after all!  So I was thinking that I could re-stock on my supplies today by using what little I still have and trading up..."

 

Ember's ears twitched as he continued, skimming over a few of the numbers he had written down.  "I don't wanna bore you with the business details, but here's where my plan comes in...  I found a store yesterday around lunchtime where I bought some of my supplies, and I think I may be able to work out a deal there.  And tonight I can put on a nice fireworks display, which will hopefully attract some customers..."  

 

At this point he looks up at Caramel and grins widely again.  "And I was thinking, fireworks ALWAYS draw a crowd!  So, while I'm putting on my little display...  You could sing for the crowd that shows up!  What do you think?"  His tail twitched as he waited eagerly to see if the mare liked his plan.  He had thought it sounded pretty good to him, and was curious what Caramel would think of it.
