am I the only Brony who likes Prince Blueblood?

Its seems like it.

 

Almost every other brony I talked to has a hatred torwards Blueblood and act like he burned an entire Village and made the mares his slaves or something.

 

The Reason that I like him is because I don't like Nice guys cyborgs Like Shining Armor and Flash Sentry. Its okay to be nice like with Braeburn or Spike where you have other personalities but when its your only traits your boring. but Blueblood on the other hand had some funny traits, he had a show-off personality and looks like Fabio. He also overreacts over small things which was funny, the "my royal lips have touched common carnival fare" line deserved a oscar to be honest. He could be a really intresting Anti-hero character who could be used as an antagonist or a protagonist depending on the episode since he wasn't really evil. I was really disappointed when He did not appear in A canterlot wedding, it made no sense. (Unless his contract with hasbro expired or something ).

 

And to be honest I don't get why some Bronies say hes bland when Soarin' had the same Character devolopment as him. Soarin' and Blueblood are Used as plot devices but a lot of bronies ignore that when it comes to Soarin' and even want an entire episode around him. But when it comes to Blueblood he only seems to get hate when he really doesn't deserve it. If anything Rarity could have just said "I am sorry but this isn't working out" and left he Prince alone. sure him using her as a shield was wrong but he was afraid. and to be honest Rarity Expected to do stuff for her because of her gender and Blueblood expected her to do stuff for him because hes a prince. both genders and Royalty are born with not earned, double standards are not cool.

 

Also even if he was nice he would get the Flash Sentry treatment and get called a Gary Stu and a waifu theif and still would get hated. so Blueblood has no option either be a jerk and be hated or be nice and be hated.

Meh, I don't really mind Prince Blueblood in all honesty. I don't mind Gilda, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon or any of them either. I usually don't hate hated characters. I think the hate is a little overboard but meh, not really much you can do about it.

I, personally, have very little tolerance for jerks. *shrug* Especially jerks who think they're entitled because their rich, or because they're born from the right family. I don't hate him - I actually don't hate anything about the My Little Pony TV show - but for me, he's a more difficult antagonist to watch. Like I've stated before about Rainbow Dash, I've just seen too many real-life people like that; and they're not funny or charming when they expect you to bend over backwards for them, because they're lazy, entitled clods.

 

Anyway, I personally dislike him, but I don't hate him. I personally have a big soft spot for Gilda the Griffon, one of my favorite episode antagonists.

Actually theres others here who are fans of him. And others in other places i'm sure, so no your not the only one.

 

however, I still don't personally "Like" him all that much.

 

Now I don't exactly have a passionate hate towards him, but he is one of those characters that seems like hes just kinda meant to be disliked overall. Plus I don't find a whole lot interesting about him personally.

 

But hes still tolerable, and I guess his role in the episode is cool, but just because he did his job in the episode doesn't mean I like his character, maybe because the whole stuck up royalty thing doesn't appeal to me idk.

 

But I don't hate him, thats just a waste of my time frankly.

 

I can see that there are reasons others could like them, especially with opinions and the such.

You're not the only one who likes Blueblood. I knew some other user, who said he's a Blueblood fan. Anyway, I like everypony, and Blueblood is not an exception. Plus, he's fun to have in an episode. I laughed on some parts of The Best Night Ever that included him.

 

Plus, I can kind of relate to him in a way that makes me like him more. Some people expect me to be a gentleman, and I don't meet those expectations because I just don't care. But not in an exaggerated way like Blueblood's non-gentlemanliness.

I really like Blueblood. Most people dislike or tolerate him but he's one of my favourite characters. Considering his upbringing likely being spoiled, I'm not surprised he is what he is. Though I am not a fan of people like him in real life (because really, who is?) I found him really funny, and I hope he comes back!~

He's supposed to be character that people love to hate; someone that's intentionally written so that people wouldn't be able to identify with him personally, but rather be ideologically opposed to him, like a heel in wrestling or any other well-written prick character.

The only reason I don't like him too much is because he is basically a one-shot character, much like Gilda, meaning that they had one purpose for one part and that purpose was to be hated. That is fine, but those two specifically are a bit more generic I suppose. I guess I am a hypocrite because I am fine with DT and SS but meh. I would actually like to see Blueblood and Gilda return, just to see what else can be done with them.

I don't mind him and I sure would like to know why the hell he is a "prince" after the Season 3 finale. To me it shows that the whole "Twilight's ascension" was not intended from the beginning. Or it was supposed to be very different.

 

Anyway, Blueblood is interesting. It makes a counterpoint to Fancypants. But in the end he is a bit like Sombra. Yeah... He is a douche. So what?

 

I hope he makes another appearance and we can see who he relates to the princesses, because I can't see Celestia raising him to be like that if he is adopted, or something, unless something went very wrong.

aren't Trixie and Gilda also suppost to be like that. but Trixie seems to be as popular as The members of The CMC in this fandom and Gilda not as popular as Trixie but slightly more popular than Blueblood.

Because most people who are big enough fans of WWE to actually go to an event know that John Cena's just a shit wrestler.

 

Trixie and Gilda actually are very much in the same vein as Blueblood as far as being characters written like characters intended to be disliked, but there are some differences. Trixie's a redemption character, and a lot of people can identify with that. Gilda's popularity is largely due to the fact that either a lot of people know someone like that, or are sociopathic enough to know they're like that themselves but somehow think it's okay.

 

It's hard to identify with Blueblood. He's a rich snob. Not very many people are gonna know someone like that, and even fewer recognize him as someone they'd want to be like. And the ones that do hang out in the Debate Pit.

 

Really, with all three of those characters, the writers did a very good job of injecting enough variety into that same concept to make it feel fresh and unique every time.

I don't think I like blueblood because I act like him or want to be like him. But because he is very funny and Has a Fabio-showoff style that seems intresting, Kinda reminds me of Prince Charming from Shrek Two.

But it makes sense to not like him, firstly, he's an obnoxious rich boy, and I hate the rich types that are like that these days, they have it so good, yet they're so full of themselves in a stupid way.

 

Second, he really didn't notice when Rarity was hitting on him? If I was him, I'd start going like a psycho inside due to how happy I am that Rarity actually likes me.

But It's hard to like Blueblood because the writers made it impossible to have anything but contempt for him, since everything he did is objectively a bad deed. So I must say, the fact that you can even like him is astounding.
